Fail patch..worse than the anniversary.

You have unrealistically high expectations for these patches. -_-

In the section for things you like doing on Maplestory, they forgot the "L > g/f" and "L > b/f" options.

Making a few assumptions about how it works, the birthday thing could be very abusable. It probably only suggests friends within X years of yourself. It won't take people long to work out the value of X. So once you have X, you can then pick a user to target and keep entering in different birthdates for yourself to work out the boundary of where they do and do not appear in the results. Their birthday is that boundary +/- X, depending on which direction you were going. And finding the boundary is no big deal. Using a binary search style (Cutting the search space in half each time, direction depending whether or not you found them) is an O(log n) algorithm, which is VERY fast. So in this case, the log is base 2. So to calculate the number of attempts that should be required will be log[SIZE="1"]2[/SIZE](X*365) (Converting it into days as that is the finest unit of a birthdate). Lets say X is 5 years (Meaning friends will be within +/- 5 years of you).
log[SIZE="1"]2[/SIZE](5*365) = ~ 11
That means that with 11 searches, they could work out somebodys birthdate. Scary huh?

Common sense would say that they wouldn't implement it in the way that I have assumed due to the possible abuse, but would Nexon even think of this? They're stupid, they lack common sense. Unless it only takes into account birth year and not the exact birthday. But if that was the case, they wouldn't have fields for you to enter in your whole birthday... and they'd probably just ask for your age.

Since NEXON America started releasing GMS-exclusive features more often things got worse.

They should seriously stop releasing useless features and work more on Masteria. It looks like they acquired more skill in making exclusive features, and they should use it for Masteria instead than for stupid stuff like this.

disregarding privacy fears, what kind of fucking moron wants randoms buddying them because some severely limited program told them that someone is a good match for them based on next-to-no criteria.

Did you only buddy those you knew a lot about? I find it very difficult to see again anyone I have buddied. That makes it hard to get to know anyone. I'm not defending this new "feature" ( there is merit to the hacker argument for sure), but for those who suck at making friends it could be an option to see more people, spend time with them (hopefully) and possibly become buddies.

So much hate! While I don't see it as something I'd use (at least not on Khaini), I think it's a fun idea for players who are pretty new to the game and are looking for common interests and hopefully a common language. One doesn't need to use his/her actual birthday, just use something that's pretty closeby. Also this feature can be safely ignored - if you don't fill it out, nobody's ever going to bother you with it. This feature does not detract anything from the game, and at least provides some sort of possibility that people can make more friends early on. Most people in their 20s complain that the game is full of 13 year old idiots, and now they have more of a chance to find each other.

2) Your birthdate + last name (This is the info required to change email address. Change the email address to your own, request a PIC reset email, reset the PIC, log on to the account, delete the character)

So yeah, it could more easily come down to being only your last name that is protecting your account. I hope you don't have a common last name.
