Regarding KMS scrolls and seeking advice
Kind of depends on the rarity of 70% potentials and magnifying glasses though. If they're somewhat common, mass-producing level 80-100 stuff with just basic crystals, 70%ing, identifying, then disassembling again until you get massively stacked stats on all your equipment will make everyone crazily strong, and high attack gloves, capes, shoes, belts, etc. will go nonexistent since they can't compete with something like +21% stat.

Weren't the magnifying glasses buyabe from an NPC anyways? As for the potential scrolls, I'm sure it'll be a common enough drop that any monster can drop them, so I wouldn't be too worried about high prices. Jacked up prices the first few weeks, yes. Afterwards? I don't expect higher than ~1m for potential scrolls, probaby 10m+ for the advanced versions that drop from Zakum/HT/Pink Bean.

Getting +2 STAT on an equip with maker really pales in comparison to the +27% stat boost from getting 3 +9s, or even getting two 6's and a 9. I'm guessing that there will be a trend to maker stuff with more useful things like speed boosts for Hero so they can have perma haste. Or perhaps accuracy boosts.

I'm forseeing a rise in popularity of whatever ore gives accuracy in maker. With characters becoming significantly stronger, they'll want to train in harder areas much MUCH sooner. They'll need the accuracy if they aren't dex/luk based (warriors/bucs).

Ranged characters will now be making 2 sets of equips: +% Stats equips, and +% HP equips (and maybe a bit of +% mp for mages for ult training to make % potions more effective if they can already OHKO). They'll use mostly +% stat equips and then equip the +%HP equips as needed for bosses. They might not have to give up all of their +% stat equips and may use a healthy mix of the two. In fact, this might actually apply to almost everyone.

Oh and of course everyone will need 1 weapon with +30% boss damage (which I believe translates to 1.3x damage, not +30% to all of your skills).... and maybe the last 2 can be +stat% boost. This, as well as the training weapon which will probably be a +stat% filled one.

EDIT:

Forgot to mention this. Due to the additive nature of the +%stats... you are FAR better off getting TotalDMG +% in certain cases.

Say your other gear (non weapon) already gives you +50% stat. Getting another +9% will bump you up to +59%. Your total STAT jumps from 150% to 159% which is a 159/150 = 1.06
times increase in damage. So if you can get a total damage +6% or higher, go with that.

If you somehow end up with +70% stat not counting your weapon, the increase would instead be 179/170=1.05. So a +6% total damage would outclass it. It's completely dependent on your other gear. You can check out what would be best for you by doing just what I've done above.

If you do work out that you're better off with totaldmg+% get like... totaldmg+%, +9% stat, +20%~30% boss damage for your bossing weapon. (Or really you might try for 3 of the 20~30% bonus dmg to boss... but i really don't think they'd allow those to stack... if they do... hot dam roughly 1.75x damage on average to a boss ON TOP OF your new super high range thanks these % boosts.)

And for the non bossing weapon: totaldmg+%,+9% stat, and another one of either of the two. Go for another +%stat boost if you didn't get the +9%, but if you did, try for another totaldmg+% boost.

The one that will work out better (to make your damage range the highest) depends on way too many factors to generalize it too well. But I think that this will probably come the closest.

The +9% stat will still come remarkably close to totaldmg +5~6% if you have a decent amount of +%stats already. So feel free at any point to not go for totaldmg+ and get the +%stats instead.

This whole system seems way overkill. I can't imagine the fun in playing maple with that much power. I mean +1400 LUK bonus? That's like 300 more Luk than my Night Lord has at LV.172 in total.

- Wouldn't everyone be able to hit the damage cap with this system?

- Wouldn't classes that hit more than one time have a huge advantage with this system? There is a video of a 187 Dual Blader hitting 199k criticals with this system. Where does that put classes that hit one time on boss monsters such as paladins compared to classes such as Dual Bladers that hit 24 times?

- Wouldn't this system make godly and above average scrolled gear pointless / useless? What is the point in White Scrolling an item for attack when you can just rate clean items until you get some absurd 20-30% damage or stat bonus?

- Isn't Nexon shooting themselves in the foot by doing this? Even if the scrolls are rare or come from the cash shop, things like Hammers, Chaos Scrolls, White Scrolls and 50% scrolls seem nearly pointless in comparison to the damage boost you can get with this system. Unless Nexon makes the potential scrolls Gachapon only or something, it seems like having these items drop in game would kill their profits. I know if this system is how it seems, I'd much rather have a 27% Luk Cape than an attack chaosed PAC.

- What about current godly gear? Some players spent thousands of dollars making perfect weapons, this system is going to obliterate everything those players have worked for. I saw a video of a LV.131 battle mage with several clean gears with % on them, the guy had over 2000 m.atk. My Bishop is LV.200 and with godly gear he only had 16xx M.ATK.

I realize that the only way Nexon can introduce new high level content that is harder than PB & the chaos bosses is to make the player base much stronger, but this is literally something that is going to change the face of maple as we know it and destroy many players hard work and result in a waste of their time, effort and money. Also, if players basically double their power, where does that leave bosses like regular Zakum, Horntail, Scarlion, etc. There are already players who have solo'd zakum in 30+ minutes, what will this be like after this new system goes and doubles their range?

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I don't like this system at all. It changes the game too much. Geez... and to think I thought Vicious Hammers were bad.

...they make a lot of money from this system, too. I don't see how it hurts Nexon at all.

I'm sure Nexon makes money off this system or they wouldn't have bothered to create it, I'm just wondering how. This system pretty much makes all of our current equipment obsolete. I guess Miracle Cubes will make them a lot of money, but it still seems like they would take a big profit hit by making attack gear such as Pink Capes and Stormcaster Gloves obsolete and making it harder to get a perfect weapon. I mean, I would attempt to get a +9 weapon, but I wouldn't even attempt to get a +9 Unique +30% dmg 8 star weapon, it's beyond practical and I would hate to even guess at how much a weapon like that would cost.

Also, when your gear is giving bonuses like +30% total damage, +2 all skill levels and +% hp, w.atk and stats, a measly 30-40 atk doesn't even seem worth the cost of white scrolling to me. Items that are already perfect will need to be rated with the potential scrolls. It's going to suck when people with +9 30/50%ed WS'd gear toss a 90% rating scroll at their hard earned weapon and watch it explode. It may only be a 10% failure rate, but that's more than enough risk for a weapon like that.

I'm guessing the way to make gear now will be to maker a good clean stat item, then use adv. potential scroll, then magnifying glass / miracle cube it till you get the clean stats you want. Then scroll it and maybe star it to 1-3 stars?

If you use an Advanced Potential Scroll on an item, use a Magnifying glass on it and then don't like the stats, if you use a miracle cube on it, do you have to reuse the potential scroll or just the magnifying glass? Also, do Magnifying glasses & Miracle Cubes have a risk of exploding your item or only the Advanced / Potential Scrolls?

@shouri: You're talking about Garnets. I believe they're quite easy to find (I have a few). I'd rather have Sapphires giving accuracy though, I have tons of those.

I'm kind of annoyed that we now have 2 item systems: the old one and this new one(I like the new one more since it favors higher level equipment).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe things works this way now:
1. You get an unidentified item(can items that existed before the patch also become unidentified? If they don't I have to remake all my items -.-)
2. You use the Magnifying Glass to get the +%s and you can use the cube item (from the CS) to change the stats you got.
3. You scroll the item.
4. You can use Strengthening scrolls to get even more stats on the item(chance of failure and destruction).

Seeing as you can get +CriticalDamage% this will probably increase the power of classes with critical skills even more (and it makes it better to use the Critical ring), though +stat% or +totaldmg% seems better. Also, I read about "incCr" in the extraction, which was right before "incCDr" which I believe is Critical Damage %, so that would make "incCr" increase Critical Rate %, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the list Pride made.

I'm not sure on what I should think about this. I do wish Nexon would go back and change some of the gameplay mechanics (Damage formulas, hitboxes of boss attacks, movement, etc.) instead.

EDIT: Ok, so you make an item unidentified using the Potential scroll. Someone said it's possible that unidentified/identified items also drop from monsters(which is great with a 10x drop rate). Is this true?

@Xaorath: I believe the Miracle Cube sets an item back to "unidentified" so you don't have to use a Potential Scroll again.

Yes you make an item unidentified using the Potential scroll. Potential scrolls can be used on any existing equipment (there could be exceptions...). Using a Magnifying Glass on it will reveal it as Rare/Epic/Unique and also its 2 or 3 options (or do we have to use the Magnifying Glass multiple times?). According to Spadow, at least, Unidentified equipment CAN drop from any monster albeit at an extremely low rate. I highly doubt hat Identified equipment can be dropped by monsters.

Resetting the identification of equipment using the Miracle Cube only makes it "Unidentified" again. You do not have to use a second Potential scroll.

Only need to use it once and all stats that it will get will appear.

It can.

It can't.

You get a little notice every time you find an unidentified weapon. It basically states that you got an unidentified weapon.

 Unidentified Weapon

I find at least two or three in the course of filling up my equip inventory, sometimes more, sometimes less, but usually around there.

So with enough nx, you can spam miracle cubes and magnifying glasses endlessly with no risk?

Basically.

If that's true and the Magnifying Glasses do not have a faliure / explosion rate, then that makes this system a little better for those with godly items because the only real danger is the primary 10% failure rate of the Advanced Potential Scroll. It still sucks to have to take a 10% risk of blowing up a +9 weapon, but I guess it's much better than having to repeatedly risk blowing up your items. The stars don't really seem necessary if you get the % stats from the Potential Scrolls.

Oh, does the Miracle Cube reset the rating such as Rare / Epic / Unique or does it only reset the stats you got when you used the Magnifying Glass?

Based on what I've read so far, I've got a couple of questions. They've been mostly answered, but I just need it to be a more direct confirmation.

1: Upgrade (or whatever) scrolls drop from everything, albeit rarely. Do both the normal and advanced potential scrolls drop from everything as well? Are there any other ways to get these scrolls?

2: The magnifying glasses are available from npcs, right? How much do those cube things cost?

3: Kind of off-topic but KMS now has 10x? Is this an event, or a permanent change?

1: The max +%stats an item can gain is based on it's level. What are the breakoff points for the various (3, 6, 9) grades? I've interpreted/assumed it as 50 for 6 and 80 for 9, but is that really it? Also, are there any grades above 9, whether in the data or in-game?

1. dunno
2.normal is drop, adv u get from turning in 10 cube shards (more on that below)
3.mag glasses are their own item and the most expensive one is 128k MESOS, cube is 1.2k nx and pack of 6 is 6k
4. permGlitter

Rare items have a maximum % stat potential of 3%.
Therefore, total % of a rare item can have 3% + 3% + 3%.

Epic items have a maximum % stat potential of 6%.
Therefore, total % of an Epic item can have 6% + 6% + 6%.

Unique items have a maximum % stat potential of 9%.
Therefore, total % of a Unique item can have 9% + 9% + 9%.

Levels 1~30: Rare = 1%, Epic = 2%, Unique = 3%
Levels 31~70: Rare = 2%, Epic = 4%, Unique = 6%
Levels 71+: Rare = 3%, Epic = 6%, Unique = 9%

Posted this on page 2 AND 4 already.

Advanced Potential and Strengthening scrolls also drop from bosses such as Zak and HT, iirc.

This is the +%STR data for Uniques:
level 1~3 -> 0-30 (+3%)
level 4~7 -> 31-70 (+6%)
level 8~12 -> 71-120 (+9%)
level 13~20 -> 121-200 (+12%)
Basically translates to 1st job 3%, 2nd job 6%, 3rd job 9%, 4th job 12%.

I don't think there are any 121+ equips at the moment though so it's just academic. Unlike the Chaos Zakum Helm, the Chaos HTP still requires level 120...

I believe they're JMS/GMS/SEA only, so once this hits one of those versions we should see 12% int bonuses.
