I think this is actually the only Google logo I've ever liked from Google. This is pretty nice.

Im too lazy to check, Is it flash based? or did they make it in HTML 5?

Probably not HTML 5 because not everybody has a browser that supports it yet.

Who thought having a game for a Google Logo was such a great idea?
First they spend days making it, then put it up for a day.

Today in class, my teacher was pulling up some websites to show the class over the projector, and instead of doing what he was going to do he just played Pac-Man while the class shouted out to him to do different stuff.

It might be HTML 5....or Java.

Most likely Java. Saving the source in an html file doesnt allow for the game to play when opened.

I'd be pretty disapppointed if it took Google days to slap together something as quick as pacman.

All of the rendering is javascript. They use flash to play music.

Java isn't suitable at all for this: The loading-speed of Google would be extremely slow if that were the case.

Not days. 3 hours tops. Most of it is just copypasting: http://pastebin.com/enyeHeKg

I always forget that theres standalone Java and then there Javascript. Cant wait til HTML 5. Hopefully it will divert people away from finicky formats.
