L> Help Breeding a Pokemon Pal
#21
1. You could use Magnezone with Magnet Rise, provided you have just enough Speed EVs to outspeed. Magneton doensn't really need to worry about that as much, since it's oddly faster than Magnezone.

2. If Metagross is not carrying an Occa Berry, it's likely that Heatran would 1hko. If it is, though, Heatran would get 1hkoed.

Goals Wrote:How would I go on to remove that Metagross, which has a type of Steel/Psychic? That's where Heatran comes to play right?

Heatran with Shuca Berry would be a great switch-in since it has a 4x resistance to Steel. Most Metagross will Meteor Mash right away against Machamp.

2. Yeah, and the only only lead Machamp can't beat is Metagross, which is still shaky considering the 50% Confusion Rate. Some obscure leads such as Choice Specs Azelf beat it.

It's 100% confusion, 50% hit.

Can you guys tell me what you think about this team?

 Spoiler

After some modifications, I think I will test the team out with Shoddy Battle.

Anti-lead Starmie uses Life Orb, 252 SpA/252 Spe EVs with Hydro Pump (or Surf), Ice Beam, Grass Knot, and Rapid Spin. Grass Knot is specifically for Swampert leads.

Your 6th Pokemon should be something that can deal with Bulky waters. Breloom works nicely since Gengar will lure in Tyranitar. Breloom can set up on most Tyranitar.

What kind of IVs are ideal for competitive pokemon? It's disheartening to read pokemon forums about people with perfect IVs on everything. >__> I'm thinking 31s on 3-4 useful stats. Is that ideal?

I can breed a perfect Dragonite for you (don't have the time to do a bunch of other Pokes though). VM me if interested.

Only two reasons to not have perfect IVs: Takes too much time and Hidden Power.
If you're not running a HP, then go for decent IVs in the same stats as EVs. 30 IVs at level 100 equate to what, 30 additional stats? Difference from 28 and 31 is minute.

While the Occa Berry on Magnezone is not standard, it probably is useful. I do recommend replacing it with the Fighting-Resist Berry, as Heatran could just absorb Fire attacks, and plus, it deals with Swords Dance Scizor better.

And you can only have 1 lead. Lol.

Hell, you only need perfect IVs for only Speed and HP. Speed for outspeeding, and perfect on HP so you could survive Stealth Rock 5 times or rubbish like that, and that could be could be easily remedied with HP EVs. It is beneficial to have decent IVs for other stats, though, but make sure they'll not crap like 0 IVs or something.

Edit: I also recommend posting your team on Smogon's RMT section. While some posts are rubbish, some RMT guys are really, really, good.
