How is adding helpful features that in no way, shape or form inhibit your ability to search effectively "fixing something that isn't broken"?

How is it helpful? It's redundant. They already have a bar on top that does pretty much the exact same thing as the bar on the left, only it's less pretty. Oh, but I guess someone with bad eyesight who can't read well may fight a use for it or something, since there are pretty pictures next to the links.

Makes the page look more cluttered. I hate cluttered pages. Ganna remove it the first chance I get with a greasemonkey script.


Edit - See they added a "color" option to image search, as well as some time related searches. Both are features that don't need their own bar taking up space on the page. They could easily have added these to the existing bars.

Implying that if a consensus was reached on a song, they would actually sing it. After all, it might end up like the book thread where everyone picks a book that they didn't read. :')

And @Swerve: The failure with that idea was thinking everyone would have time in a month to read an extra book. Even during summer months that's difficult for a lot of people. A song is super fast and easy to do, assuming one person is willing to do all the audio splicing. Then everyone takes a couple lines. Done.
