Wow...

Yeah, sad to hear about that.
I've quit MapleStory because of Nexon greediness, and trying out WonderKing 2 weeks ago.
Now level 36, if their business model are going to be similar to MapleStory's, I'll quit WonderKing too.

I'd rather play other games such as Wolfteam and Left for Dead2.

MS quit. WK quit.
I guess I'll stop looking for games to play.
I don't like 3D games and LaTale lags too much for me.

Maybe they can actually fix some of the horrible problems with Hack Shield that Wonerking has,WK has some serious issues with running Hack Shield right.

I can't even play the game due to the "hack detected undefined hack" I've never had a problem with MS Hack Shield of any of the other tons of MMORPG I have tried.

The thread in WK's forums is named "I think I just died a little inside" lol.

I put this in general DISCUSSION so I could see what people thought of nexon
taking over. I really hope this doesn't go south quickly.

Guess I'll play d2 some more till diablo 3 get's a release date.

I dunno. Take Luminary, for example. pomegranate in that game is expensive as hell. And it's run by morons.

A lot of people may think it can lose players because of this but if anything they will gain players, I have no problem with Nexon and there money ways, it's a company I wouldn't expect them to do it any other way, only thing I have a problem with in Nexons customer support through tickets, it's pretty damn bad.

Make me wanna play it even more, hopefully I cna actually try it one day. o.o''

GM-Zabu claims that the game won't be affected haha, not likely.

Or more like thats what Ndoors "thinks", and push come to shove
the 67% share holder is going to win.

I think 67% is a lot. I love WK and Atlantica mainly because of the depth of both games. I hope you guys realize that this means Blade and Soul might be owned by Nexon =/

@Coogi. I'm sure Nexon can ruin the games. In Atlantica, you can buy cash items and you are able to sell them in the market making them available to ALL players. Money making is not hard in that game either. In fact, every once in a while players would return and cause a huge inflation due to "coins" that rise in price the longer you hold them. Then after they dump all that money into the market, it balances itself. Nexon could easily make Cash Items non-tradable. Since the game itself is PvP + War based, cash items are almost a necessity. If Nexon did block the trading of Cash Items, they would make so much money over people buying Ndoor's Boxed version of Gacha. The same could be easily applied to WK since it just released PvP.

Another concern is the GM activity. In all Ndoor games, you can contact GMs easily from Forums/In-Game/Ticket, and they usually reply in less than an hour. 67% means that Nexon most likely(definitely) has the power to fire all the GOOD GMs, and replace them with "Nexonesque" ones. And once again I would like to emphasize Blade & Soul T__T....The mere thought of it being owned by Nexon from the get-go is somewhat infuriating.

I wouldn't be too concerned about anything beyond cash shop prices. They're not going to change out WKO's staff or anything, so as long as the same people are running it one should be able to expect the same basic service. I don't think Nexon is going to fully assimilate them into their "pineapple the customer" policies.

I think there is a trend though. Once you get players hooked, they will continue playing even if they are treated like crap. For instance, I know many people who have been falsely banned, hacked, etc. They complain, yet they keep playing. Nexon could jack up the prices in all Ndoor games, and even though people will be pissed, they most likely won't stop playing. And look at the hype for Blade & Soul, people will play it regardless of who owns it mainly because it looks very very promising. Imagine Blizzard getting bought by Nexon (hypothetically) Starcraft 2, WOW, WC3, D3...They would all be owned by Nexon, and people would still play if there was bad customer service, mainly because they are great games with potential, just like Maplestory.

I'm not sure what that had to do with my response beyond agreeing with the cash shop part and expanding on the reason why one should be concerned. There's a pretty good chance that WKO's service would become just as shitty as Nexon's once they discovered that "free-to-play" it literally a gold mine exploding with riches so you don't need to do anything at all to deserve them. All Nexon is going to do is speed up that process. But in the end, what happens with any given game comes down to what the boss wants. If the boss isn't a completely shitty person he'll continue pushing for good customer service. At least until Nexon feels like it's affecting their potential profits and demands they knock it off, but that's still a long time away. They'll go through a stage of observing income for several months, jacking up prices, observing income again, and finally cutting corners.

Sorry about that, I was focusing my comment on your last sentence.

I don't think Nexon is going to fully assimilate them into their "pineapple the customer" policies.

But yes you do make a good point. I did forget that the GMs in DFO are pretty good, so things might not be all bad.

After further reading, I don't think this will effect us (AO or WKO players) mainly because, "It's not any merger or take-over, and it's only acquired as an asset, one can only realise that there will be no change. The staff will remain the same, the devs will remain the same, the stupid ideas/nerfs will remain the same, but the proffit will go to Nexon. That's what this is all about." But only time will tell.

I can think of maybe 2 or 3 good things that this may give us the WK players (yes I play WK now)

1.- preobably a new job?
2.- update the job skills and balance them like in the japan server

bad things:
1.- Nexon
2.- Money

I wonder if they would megre both....oh god!
