Where are you guys at on your Heart Gold/Soul Silver playthrough?
that entire video sucked. what the hell was the symbolism in it; what purpose do highways, cities, rainbows, and clock gears have to do with f'ucking Arceus making Giratina/Palkia/Dialga?

Divulging the viewer into a brief period of deep thought about the universe, Man-Kind's 'greatest' achievements, and so forth.
Trying to 'wow' the audience, which isn't hard given GameFreak thinks we're ALL 5-10 year olds.

Ok, I defeated most trainers in Kanto, might've missed a few, but now my team is the following:

-Typhlosion Lv.55
-Pikachu Lv.54
-Honchkrow Lv.54
-Gengar Lv.54
-Golduck Lv.54
-Victreebel Lv.54

Going to train on the E4 like crazy before I even think about challenging Green, because training on Gymleader rematches just sucks and the powered up E4 is actually challenging.

You're already high levelled enough to fight Blue/Green.

Screw this. I plowed through Elite Four with a slightly underleveled team, was so proud of myself because for once I didn't grind at all before attempting Elite Four, then when I got to Lance I realized I ran out of Potions and Revives and got raped by his Gyarados and Aerodactyl. And those 2 were his easy ones. Darn it. Gonna try again next week when I'm free.

Team:
- Lv. 46 Ampharos
- Lv. 45 Lugia
- Lv. 43 Typhlosion
- Lv. 43 Red Gyarados
- Lv. 28 Skarmory

Yeah, caught a Skarmory for fun. Wanted to Spike the Elite Four to death, but got lazy to train it. Last Pogey's a Krabby HM Slave. Bleh.

I know, but I'm not high leveled enough to fight Red and as soon as you defeat Green the Elite 4 gets their extra levels, which would mean it would be impossible to train for me, and I don't want to use Pokémon from another game (only transferred some things from my Emerald for extra TMs).

Just found out that I'll have to teach my Typhlosion Rock Climb if I want to take my whole team to fight Red. Not like I was planning to use Swift a lot during that fight, but still.

Beat Sabrina and Erika. Sabrina was a nightmare since my team was in the mid 40s. Her Espeon 2 shots my pokemon and 1 shots Gengar (who was supposed to be my trump card for the gym by Shadow Balling everything to death), is faster than my Gengar and Cindy, and Signal Beam from Ampharos was too weak to make a dent in their Sp. Def. If Espeon uses Calm Mind I was beyond screwed, and was tough enough to handle 2 Bites from my Gyarados. I has to keep restarting until Espeon wasted turns using Calm Mind or Skill Swap so I killed Espeon without losing Gyarados. Mr. Mime was the breather pokemon because it was nowhere as threatening as Espeon; I got up 3 Dragon Dances while only taking ~25-30% damage per Psychic, and 1 shotted her Mr. Mime and Alakazam. Now I kind of know how Ash must have felt fighting Sabrina with just Pikachu from all that overwhelming Sp. Atk and speed.

Erika was a cakewalk. lolFlamethrower and everything died in 1 hit or is almost dead.

Been busy at school again...anyway Sabrina rematch yesterday was a joke. She was so easy. Then I quenched my thirst at the game corner. SO MANY COINS....I missed Pryce's rematch this morning (school), but Janine's was easy. Getting Blue's number tomorrow Erika's next Sunday >_> Still afraid at the Arcade, I know I'll lose again.

Edit: YES, I did it. I got to and beat Dahlia. I'm so happy right now....

Blaine and Morty rematches went well. I can't even beat one round of the Battle Factory. Any tips? >.<

Got up this morning and decided to play Pokemon for a few minutes. I remembered Hoenn Sound was on Wednesdays, so I went off to Mt. Silver and caught a Whismur and a Linoone. Then I went over to Victory Road. I checked Bulbapedia to see what Pokemon were there. Makuhita and Absol. Okay, cool. I find like 5 Makuhitas and a bunch of Onixes/Gravelers, and I'm about to give up and go eat breakfast, when OH pomegranate SHINY ABSOL. Good way to start the day.

Haven't really played in a while. Last time I played, I finished the double battle with your rival against Clair and Lance. It was annoying with all the paralz going around, but I got it done.I got all my badges done, but I'm still not ready for Red/Ash, since my highest is 57. I skipped fighting as many trainers as possible, So I should be able to get another 10 lvls on people at least :T

And I cried that time I was going to catch Suicune, and that one time it came up shiney, I get an epic critical hit. Fml.

Ok, the fact that all I can do right now is just grind is getting annoying, but I really want to complete the story with my current team (Typhlosion, Pikachu, Honchkrow, Gengar, Golduck, Victreebel). Funny thing I just found out that once you've gone to Vermilion (or after the league) the battle themes on routes 27, 26 and in Victory Road change. I think it's pretty cool.

So does anyone in here know a good spot that isn't the E4 to train my team to Lv.65 or so?

Call for trainer battles again and again (Depends on day) use Serebii to help is pretty much the only way to level.

I want the VS seeker back, with phonecalls for trainers that are inside a building. The battleground concept was much better than the dojo thing we have now, unless you're going around changing the clock all the time.

Just did another run trough the E4;
-Typhlosion Lv.57
-Pikachu Lv.57
-Honchkrow Lv.57
-Gengar Lv.56
-Golduck Lv.57
-Victreebel Lv.56

I'm slowly gaining more levels. I think I need to defeat the E4 about 15 more times and then I'll be able to move on.

While I'm trying to hatch a bunch of eggs to create a good party, I've been hanging in the Safari Zone as of late.

Suddenly, I see a shiny Pidgey- the first shiny I've ever found in all of my time ever playing Pokemon. Sure, it's a Pidgey- but a shiny is a shiny, and considering I'd never found one before ever, I tried to go for it. Just when I think I had it, I get that I "almost had it". Then... it fled.

Currently playing while slitting my wrist with:

on full volume. None of you guys can understand the torment, despair, and misery dwelling deep in me by failing to catch a level 17 shiny Pidgey and the first and only shiny Pokemon I've ever encountered. I know you guys have probably found countless and this might look to you like Joey's constant failure to catch a Pidgey (my next favorite phone call from him after talking about his Rattatta in the top percentage of all Rattatta), but to me- that shiny Pidgey was sure something ;-;. Brb, returning to slitting my wrists.

Dude, that's bullpomegranate. Safari Zone is the worst place to encounter a shiny. Very sorry to hear that.

Bugsy rematch was easy. Anyway umm, can any of you give me some tips on how to make my team more well rounded for the Battle Frontier?

Feraligatr - Crunch, Ice Fang, Waterfall, Aqua Tail
Ampharos - Thunderpunch, Charge, Discharge, Thunder Wave
Slowking - Surf, Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Nasty Plot
Noctowl - Dream Eater, Hypnosis, Fly, Extrasensory
Sunflora - Petal Dance, Solarbeam, Sunny Day, Leaf Storm

Any advice would greatly be appreciated because I feel with the moves I have now, I'd lose easily at the Castle, Tower, and Hall.

You only get 3 Pokemon for Castle and Tower and only one for Hall. First, I'd replace useless moves like Dream Eater, Charge, Petal Dance, and Fly. Not sure with what at the moment; just look through their movepools for options. You don't need Waterfall and Aqua Tail on Feraligatr, they do pretty much the same thing. Battle Frontier is all about minimizing the amount of luck you have to deal with, because eventually it's going to run out, so I'd replace Aqua Tail. You don't need Discharge and Thunder Wave on the same Pokemon; the wohle point of Discharge is Paralysis, otherwise you'd use Thunderbolt. You don't get much room for setup unless you force it (Trick a Choice item onto an opponent), so keep that in mind when using moves like Nasty Plot or Sunny Day.

Usually, it's good to have two attackers and one support Pokemon to either switch into hits and stall or help an attacker set up. Type coverage isn't hugely important since it's hard to do that with 3 Pokemon, but make sure you account for threats like Shedinja.
