OU Warstory: Stop Complaining
#21
You should go for Regirock, as a physical wall, he's sorta iffy. Since he can handle STAB'ed Body Slam / Double-Edge super well. But against Lucario, he has no chance. I personally used a Choice Banding set in 3rd gen, not sure if they still do this, but:

Regirock@Choice band
Adamant nature (252 ATT, xxx speed, xxx Def) <- Forgot the exact amount, you only need a certain amount to outspeed other Pokemon anyways)
-Superpower/Focus Punch
-Explosion
-Rock Slide (for accuracy, but less acc) / Stone Edge (power, less acc)
-Earthquake

Harder to use without T-wave being in the set, but if you can pull off a couple predictions with Focus Punch, you're the champ. Bring it out on anything that is rock-weak or anything that predicts you using EQ / Rock Slide, then F-punch it. I've seen someone switching in a Snorlax once, and I have no idea why they'd bother.

Thing is, I don't want to use any legendaries. They annoy me. So I'll prob use Venusaur. Remember, this is UU, not OU - Lucario ain't gonna be showin his face.

Oh, right, I forgot, it's UU battles only. Oops, my bad. Then you have very little to fear, just watch out for Hitmonlee with Life Orb / Choice Band. But if you don't like Legends, go for Venusaur as a 2nd resort, I guess. I only know Venusaur's standard-sets in 3rd set, so no help here. Sad

That account wasn't actually crappy on purpose. I sucked when I first joined Pokemon, so that's kind of why my CRE is really low. I lived and learned, though. I don't feel like making another account because I want the name ClawofBeta.

That's how I became quite decent at Competitive Pokemon, ha ha.

Explain? The only luck I had was that paralyze on Venusaur, which would've died to Lanturn anyway. I dodged a hit or two due to paralysis kicking in, but that's why I used thunderwave in the first place. His Registeel would've died to Focus Punch because of Substitute regardless.

Paralyze is generally used to guarantee that you're faster than your opponent rather than disable, because it's only a 25% chance of the disable happening, but yeah, there wasn't too much hax in that battle.

Whatever kind of Gyara that is, even 0 atk EV metagross would've done a minimum of 82% with ThunderPunch, so that crit would've been inconsequential.

I guess his team didn't have a counter or check to CM cune or something (then again, not much non-wall pokes counter cune outside of Celebi and Shaymin, really), and basically he lost when his Heatran exploded, losing his only good check to your Meta. That whine in the end is pathetic, though.

Well, okay, it wasn't that haxxy (sorry I exaggerated), but I really loathe battles with at least 1 hax that turns the tide. I hate it when I do it to someone, and I hate it when someone does it to me.

Kind of the reason why I made the UU tourney best 2/3, really. I would've liked it to be best 3/5, but it would take too long.

Venusaur's become a legend in UU, man.

~ Return / Earthquake

Bro's seen a huge rise in popularity.
