Fighting blind isn't that big of a thing.

Now, fighting 80 skilled sword men all attacking you at once with 10 more guys with rifles firing at you, and then you kill them all and live, you're a real bad ass. Unless that blind guy pulled off something like that, I'll still say Musashi is the most bad ass guy in the existance of man.

Dont get the wrong idea, this was on network tv. The lady thief was in a crowded market robbing ppl's when she spotted the sword man. She sneaks in close but the camera cuts away to the samurai. Using his warrior reflexes he draws a small blade in an instant, and then puts it away. (movie was done in the old school style of animation where crazy violent, etc etc. stuff occurs frequently. But they wouldnt have the hero ruthlessly kill a petty criminal would they?)
As the thief lady's clothing falls to the ground in strips, the samurai cooly walks away...
