I battled against Dusk, very fun. He basically had a similar team to Spidey's. Like, super-similar. Half or more of his Pokemon were identical. Movesets were a bit different though, iirc. I think the reason I've been wiping out a small portion of people's teams is because of my Altaria.. lol.

Just played Khoi twice. He beat me both times. Fun game, but there's way too many options and it's really hard to figure out which one to choose.

^What a ninja. And yeah, that Altaria screwed me over pretty badly.

Edit: Spidey has good taste.

I think my lead kinda sucks, because I get easily Taunted and I'm sorta screwed. It has offensive-attacks, but it's att/spe-stats are so sh`t that I shouldn't bother. ;~;

PS: Dusk, extremely good matches, by the way. I was impressed, cause it was your first time fighting a team you're not used to, and you almost beat me, twice. Man, if I almost won against anyone, I'd give myself a pat on the back. Goddamn, 4th gen metagame is intense.

Ken, I'm going to make a good team and show you eventually.

EDIT: Need to think of a better Wall, any suggestions?

EDIT: Need to think of a better Wall, any suggestions?

Some of the best walls in the metagame are in OU, sadly. Not sure if Dusclops is UU or not, but he's a pretty good physical wall. Movesets for him varies from person to person, you can use it like you would with a Weezing. Pain Split, etc. Not sure how Dusclops sets are in 4th gen. :/ Back then, it was Will-O-Wisp, Pain Split, and some random crap mostly made to piss people off and tank hits.

I think Skarmbliss is near obsolete in 4th gen, so assuming Blissey is UU (LOL?), use that for a Special Wall. If not, use Chansey, which isn't as bad. They're slightly inferior compared to back then, but still useful. I try not to use Smogon Standards unless I have to, but usually, I change the EVs-spread a bit or take out a certain move and add in something that I would think is more useful, meh.

That's why metagame is so hard, do you trust the Standard sets listed on Smogon, and use that to predict, or do you believe in purely instinct? Ie:

If you were winning and constantly sweeping with, let's say Altaria (with DDx2). Your opponent sends in a Salamence (no DD), you question on whether they have Choice Scarf, Choice Band, or some sort of OMGWTF attack that will freak you out. Would you refer to the Smogon standards listed in Smogon for prediction, or believe that they might have something else up their sleeve? That's why metagame is fun. You don't need to necessarily set-up everything, though I start to see that it's relied on heavily in 4th gen based on all of the battles I've witnessed. Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes, constant Subbing to hide behind + healing, etc.

The metagame becomes VERY predictable once you play a lot, at least OU does. I know OU like the back of my hand. I can tell what set my opponent is running based on how much damage it does to one of my Pokemon, that's how predictable it has gotten. That's why I'm really enjoying UU now since it's a different metagame. I had my first few UU battles earlier and they were quite fun. I had a great battle with DarkestTempest earlier and I won, mostly due to my hax SDef drops on his Chansey. xD

I'm up for some UU battles if anyone is on.

I'd want to do more battles, but I tend to regularly update my team some how. I'll battle again whenever I think my team is good to go. For now, I still have plenty of tinkering to do with it >:

First win!

UU feels really different than OU, yet there's a same kinda flow. I can't explain it all too well Goggleemoticon
