Ahahahaha, and here I was under the impression that the GMs information couldn't be entered with the normal client, nor could GM accounts be accessed by a non-Nexon IP.

After a GM's account got hijacked in beta (the password was something dumb like 123 and a user guessed it) they supposedly beefed up security by not allowing GMs to log on from outside addresses. But I guess that's false.


So Hime doesn't want to admit the PIC can be cracked? That's nice.

Fun's over. But I have to say it was worth it when it lasted. Nexon's still as disappointing as ever, coming up with some shi't that was not even funny.

I lol'ed very hard at this. Makes you wanna go update your ticket with "additional info" doesn't it?

if you ask me it looks like the gm was using a 3rd party macro program for his id and password and just fked up and hit the hotkey.

I think it much more likely this idiot of a GM had a PIC like 111111 which Ecko was able to guess.
Consider: GM's stay logged in for maybe 10 seconds per world, long enough to set that scrolling annoucement (via copy-paste). Then they switch. Very very tempting to have an easy-to-input PIC in that situation.
Likely scenario: idiot GM puts in message for Scania, then *thinks* he hit "quit" and is on the login screen (to get to next world), so quickly types id, tab, passowrd, enter - and oops!

Hm... the ONLY time I don't really play Maple and all this happens... O.O

Seems that every time they try to patch up something, another hole appears that hackers immediately try to exploit it...WHY WOULD THAT GM PUT HIS INFO IN THE SCROLLING TEXT ANYWAY??? >O I always have this feeling that Nexon thinks that since MapleStory is meant for kids...who somehow have money, they don't really take the players or the game seriously at all... 'Stop speculating kids...'

Also possible, but it's doubtful Hime will say either way. It could also be exploiting the PIC reset on the website.. maybe GM accounts don't use PICs.. who knows.

I wrote this to -Hime- after she made a "special" visit to SW to address the alleged GM "flub"...

Hi, and thanks for taking time to come here and let us know.

Unfortunately, your company has lost any credibility with us after we blatantly told you what was going on about the hacking incidents.

This incident was inevitable, yet despite our warnings, many pleas, and olive branches to try to resolve the problem, we were ignored.

The majority of the players that were hacked won't believe your claims, but understand that you have to represent Nexon to the best of your capabilities.

It seems you shall be ignored as well.
