time to use those YuGioh card names in 1337 and use super long names like:
ChimeratechOverDragon
...or some sh't. Oh wait, it says 6-16. `-`;
In that case:
Cyber End Dragon -> Cy83r3&dDr@g0n!
or something.

It'd be funny if they added a new layer from time to time, to make sure things go right, and it ends up with like 20 layers.
But yeah, PIN didn't do much, but it always helped... A bit, I guess.

So far it looks like a pretty solid security upgrade as long as you don't plantain around with your "2nd password" and just use some random numbers and letters for it.
The only thing anyone has to worry about is how exactly they're going to implement the system. I mean, if the allow you to place your PIN first and then allow you to make your PIC this system won't see any trouble at all but if they just remove the PIN system all together, it could just be a matter of who can log on your account first.

It's clearly stated in the announcement that you enter your PIN, then the PIC. After you input the PIC, the PIN is no longer used. So they're going the safe route.

Seriously, if a keylogger gets on my computer, I seriously doubt they'll go for my maple account over my paypal password. If you get a keylogger on your computer, either you need to stop visiting the sketchiest sites on the web or get better security.
This. I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about keyloggers. If you get an ordinary keylogger; guess what? It's not after your Maplestory account. You get your account hijacked from a keylogger aimed specifically at MS players. That means you most likely downloaded something you weren't supposed to. Think twice about downloading that DC hack from some shady forum where the thread is filled with generic "THANKS, OP!" responses.
Really, there are only a few MS related downloads I can think of someone actually wanting, aside from hacks. Most people who get keylogged on MS get them from trying out hacks. Or perhaps they went to a "FREE NX" website and obliviously clicked the "You don't have the latest Flash installed, you need it to view this site!" link.
Getting keylogged is seriously te least of my worries. Get No-script, and make damn sure any MS related site you visit is reputable. Make sure that any attachment on that site is safe as well. If you don't know how to ensure its safety, you can always wait until the regular lurkers post in the thread. Unless the forum is both filled and run by idiots, any tainted file posted on the forums will be removed within a few hours (if a mod isn't active at the time).
Honestly, you have to be practically looking for a Maplestory keylogger to get caught by one. It's harder to get keylogged than you would think, provided you use your common sense and don't let your guard down.

To be honest, I'd rather have this along with the pin system. Why'd they have to remove that?

i've gotta say, this is something i want to pay attention to. sure i was an idiot and gave it away, but if the pin is removed and this PIC thing is replacing it altogether, then ive finally got a chance to get back onto my old account. kinda miss playing my dk.

Well there you have it, people. In an attempt to stop some hackings, others may be able to occur. You gave the account away, let it go.

There are many true (i.e not wz-editing) v75 servers out there.

They can just implement the web-launching system (or create their own executable to avoid this.)
Has anyone tried launching MapleStory.exe directly and seeing what happens?

Wasn't the launch from site suppose to start this patch? No new executable files, and MapleStory.exe still opens my client like normal.
