I said it was a possibility, not the sole cause. Looking at how Basil has so many people and its reputation, I wouldn't put it past someone to do that either. It could be a combination of things. Just putting it out there.
Also, I'm not saying that it's all a keylogger or something like that. I do believe that they could be going about much stronger ways to hack people.

Yes, it could be any combination of billions of things, and listing every single confluence of the moon stars and tardation that could result in this event doesn't help anyone.
Sell FUD elsewhere, Elmer, we're all stocked up here.

God forbid I try talking about the subject at hand. Don't you think it's just as bad that you're going about the possibility of Nexon being compromised? I think I'm mentioning less 'FUD' than you guys.

While Eos has consistently stood by the fact that there is no proof of a database breach, it's still a more plausible idea than a basilmarket hack because not everyone that has been hacked uses basilmarket, which pretty much rules it out as the culprit. Everyone is in the database which means it's still a viable option, realistically.
When searching for the answer you have to trace back all connections. There has to be one thing in common with all relevant cause between all accounts. Unfortunately, as some others have pointed out, there are probably jerks out there stealing their friends stuff and making them think that they were hacked in the same way as so many others. Those are false leads, unfortunately in determining the cause you would need everyone giving you information to be completely truthful and not many people at this point are going to actually admit to giving out their information. So attempting to figure out a cause is pretty much pointless from our end, all we can count on is answers from Nexon (haaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha) and what people claiming to be the hackers have said, as well as the fact that, as I said, the database is the one thing that links everyone together regardless of what they have or haven't done.

They've had bots making threads with links to redirecting phishing sites that look exactly like basil, until they were stopped. But if that was done so easily, I bet a keylogger could be too.
I never have been on Basil. I've been hacked. I'm sure I'm not alone in this scenario. Creative theory, but too weak.

Just got a Better Business Bureau response from Nexon. They're still blaming it on the players.

Wonderful service from Nexon. Well at least their English is better then Asiasoft.
About the hackings, it could be a from different sources and done buy different hackers. Which Rule says that in an epidemic, there can only be one source done one way?

I use a old computer of mine and downloading Trojans and viruses purposely. Used Avg,Nod 32 ,Iobit ,Norton, Windows defender, and avira. Took around a few hours using internet explorer and fire fox didn't use google chrome to find any exploits on it. From what i see the only this was the constantly changing itself appl hidewindows.31232. It was Avira wouldn't let it on my computer have it on automatically delete others didn't detect. Others It didn't detect it oddly. Its names it self a common file(name itself a shortcut and after music as well also some files in windows) usually wont know its there follows keystrokes passwords and gestures as much as i can tell from it. From avira support it can copy everything equivalent to a Trojan but also able to be a worm and key logger. Maybe that program is hacking everyone. Though we know were still not sure on whats exactly going on.

Yea, the question is what is in common with everyone else on the one account that I lost that is not in commom with the 16 or w/e accounts that I did not loose.
The only answer that I believe is correct is no difference. The only difference was where the account was in the list of accounts so that they have not gotton to the others yet. This is the only plausible reason I can come up with. But how they got the list is a mystery to me. And the only reason I have for my other accounts not being taken yet is that I changed all my information so that it no longer matches the list.
Here's a question. If there was a list obtained from the nexon database, would it contain e-mails as well or are those stored seperatly?

It doesn't matter where the email is stored. There is a simple and well known method of finding email and full name if you know the account ID and password.
Hopefully the date of birth is not so easy to get, since it is about all the protection you have left once the hackers have ID, password and pin.
Actually ,I think using DoB as a secondary password is rather STUPID, but I suppose when they were writeing the code years ago they didn't consider that they would need top-notch protection for a 'free to play' kiddies game. LOL The assumption was, of course, that people would use their real birthday, so it was a password that could not be lost or forgotten. However, many who use their real birthday don't otherwise treat it as secret information.

Moderator won't let me post the full details (I really don't understand why not). The people in control of the 'breach' no longer have access to it. It was recently posted on how to abuse the MSN retrieval glitch so now it's all about keeping your email/account secure. They still have access to accounts which havent been changed from .8< but if you changed it from last patch, unless you're a direct target you're fine.
You can take my word for it or brush it off. As I said moderators won't let me post the just behind it.

I don't have an MSN account, so you really have to explain to me the connection between this and the alleged hackings.

That's part of why his posts keep getting deleted. It's purely based on the alleged boastings and hearsay of supposed masterminds, with no credible proof and comes down to a discussion about the hack ers rather than the hack ings, which violates rule H.

If you want to know what's going on you can PM me. You won't find anything here because Eos, unfortunately, is too unstable to accept that he's wrong.

the "information" you keep trying to post is crap.
Absolute. Unrelated. You may think you're trying to help, but it's not. Vent is nothing new. Most of them have bothered far more worlds than Bera.
Them bragging, lying, and "proving" how elite they are is also nothing new.
Your claims are unsubstantiated hearsay, not even speculative fiction. They do not belong here. They have no value without actual proof, and you have none. The only thing you're doing is feeding their egos and helping them spread fear. You can't declare everyone safe now because you can't even prove what was really going on beyond what you've "heard".
And for the record - Dan and Mikey couldn't even hack HT until someone held their hands and publicly released NoDelay and the HT script nerfing, so please stop treating them like they're some kind of criminal masterminds when all they are is sad little script kiddies who want attention. It doesn't take a genius to see that someone who "had" access but "lost it" the minute you want repeatable proof they could do it on demand is screwing with you.
The subject of them is closed.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.
