Regarding Weapon speed in GMS

Simple question do we or do we not have the maximum available speed in MS i hear there's "faster/est speed" but we may or may not have it.

If you're talking about speed cap, it's faster (2). A lot of people agree that we SHOULD have a cap of fastest (1), so SI works more on more weapons.

What's the number people usually write after the speed type of a weapon? For example, Fast (2). Is there a Fast (1), too? What are the differences? Which is faster?

also, from what i understand the speedcap was implemented in gms because hackers where hacking their characters to atk super fast. does this mean only gms has this speedcap and other versions have none or different speedcaps? also which version has a cap and which version doesnt? and if they have a cap then whats the maximum speed?

Hm. I thought there was a Polearm at Slower (10) but I guess I was mistaken.


The Slowest (15) is the Golden Mace. It doesn't exist in game as far as I know.

ah i think that mace does exist in european maplestory, though i wonder what speed it is there. would be interesting to see somebody wield one

Well theoretically in an uncapped version, the max speed would be (-1) from a Maple Claw + Booster + SI (among other weapons - anything that's Faster), so if it was capped lower than that there would be no way to test whether it's just plain uncapped or it's just a cap that doesn't affect legit players.

I would love to use something that takes two seconds to swing. Even if they gave it crap wAtk, it'd still be fun.

I believe there's actually an upper cap at 10, so that's the slowest speed in effect. Basic attack at speed 10 is exactly 1 second, or 60 per minute.

If you really want that, go use unboostered Meteor or Blizzard. They take close to 3 seconds to cast, and you don't need any special gear, plus they're actually useful. >_>
