Just in case some people were wondering about certain things of Aran...
In the screenshot shown, the Aran has used Combo Tempest. The monsters are frozen solid. Anyone who strikes the monster will deal damage equivalent to there base HP. In the screenshot I'm doing Savage Blow. Full EXP is gained as well to the one who strikes it, as if Tempest didn't do anything except freeze the monster. In a party with the Aran, the Aran will get normal party EXP as if they didn't attack the monster. Without party, the Aran gets zero.
Final Toss also works with anyone attacking the monster that tossed in the air (my SB was doing 8k-9k with no buffs). But apparently only the Aran can keep juggling the monster into the air.
I still wonder though, if Combo Barrier stacks or buffs over active/passive Damage reduction abilties (i.e. Meso Guard, Achilies)... anyone?

What would happen if an Aran does tempest at zak and then a bucc does demo (8hits is the higher number of hits I can think of)

so every hit does damage based on the monster's base hp? I wonder if this will interfere with the 200k dmg cap. You should try this on a Bf or so. :f6:

Combo Tempest has a different functionality on bosses. Instead of the freeze effect, it does 4 strikes of 1210% damage (Level 1 Tempest).
That may sound broken, but the fact that getting 200 combo count on bosses is a pain in the ass. Seduce and stun breaks your combos, always.

The fact is, Tempest freezes a monster solid. If you tap the monster, you're suppose to "break" the ice and shatter the monster into pieces. That is why Tempest freezes monsters, and if you tap them, it does HP equivalent to their base HP. You have a few seconds before they thaw out.

200,000 (x4) is still way easier to pull off on a Shadower then an Aran. This is only due to combo builds up, while a Shadower just sits in Dark Sight and over time (in a matter of seconds), the multiplier builds up and up.

fine never mind >> geez. Just wanted to point at that after combo tempest, after the aran began attacking with normal attacks again, the bar was going down much faster than before >>

The hell are you talking about? Tempest on a boss only does 1500% damage at max level, 4 times on a boss.

We'd assume so since things like the attack boost from comboing stacks as well. Not sure though of course.

We can assume that IL do an exterior freeze (kinda just trap you in ice so you can't move) whereas aran do an interior type of freeze (just with combo tempest). So that If you get poked, you go explody  well not explode, but still.

Not sure? Dude, look at your video, do you see any strikes doing equivalent damage to Zakum2's HP? (88,000,000). The skill itself says it works differently on bosses. @_@

That post was in response to whether the 4th job damage reduction skill stacked with things like invincible. And also, there's a damage cap, that's why I mentioned the possibility of him just doing the damage cap but the numbers not actually reflecting it. Besides, since a certain someone was so adamantly against these interpretations, I retracted my statements. I never said these were the ways the thing actually worked. I merely said it'd be nice if that's how it were since that aran was taking zakum's HP off in chunks. he finished off zak 3 in under 800 hits. (110,000,000 / 800 = 137,500). So on average he'd have to have done more than that per hit. Also, a good number of those hits were from the mobs, or a handful during the super def up. This is what led me to the conclusion that the skill might attempt to make the aran do zak's HP in damage (110,000,000), but is instead reduced to ~200k, because of the damage cap. Once again this was all speculation.
All I know is that even if each and every single hit of his was 70,000, he'd have to hit zak over 1500 times to kill him.
1) he didn't in the video
2) 70k was a critical on the last hit of his combo (the bear swipe)
3) everything else was a lot lower than 70k, yet he STILL kills zak3 in under 800 hits.
Do you see why I would've thought my line of reasoning now?
Edit: oh, also, at 5:08 after he gets stunned zakum roughly has 1/10th~1/15th of his hp left. Yet he kills zak in about 3 combos (norm hit->double->triple->that bear swipe). It's impossible to knock off even 1/20th of zak's hp off in 3 combos especially since in each combo, he at most does a total of 250k. And it's probably a less than that.
