When's the last time he stated he wanted to "be a master"?
Jhoto?

Oh, and apparently the director of the anime said something about the anime changing to target newer audiences, expecting that their older audiences have already grown out of it and lost interest. That's why they bring up rudimentary points like this again, when obviously Ash has learned this before. This is also why you hardly hear from older characters as well. The most they get is a 1 episode apperance or something, but then you don't really see them again. They did this with both Misty (Kasumi) and May (Haruka), and will most likely be doing this with Darn (Hikari) when they move on to the new region with the new female lead.

Speaking of which, he said something about making the new female characters more and more attractive, for their newer viewers. This is why May was given a huge bust and Dawn was given wide hips and a miniskirt. (lol)

The anime doesn't really have a sense of continuity. It constantly breaks its own canon and likes to disregard events from previous seasons.

No. He said it just very recently.

He does... for like 2 episodes over at the ghost gym with his defensive offensive attack mix-up. Then he seems to forget all about that the instant he leaves that town.

Hohoho, really now? That's a surprise. He certainly doesn't say it nearly as much as he used to. I'm pretty sure they stopped using the "ganna catch em all" line too, after 4kids lost their grip on it. I only really watch the Pokemon movies every now and then. I haven't seen many episodes past the first Sinnoh arc.

Yeah. I wasn't really watching the episode, but it was one where one of the Elite Four was going to face C-whatsherface.

Haven't we already established that animeworld =/= gameworld. The rules are different. In the games the rules are defined and can't be circumvented. Just because something doesn't work in the gameworld, doesn't imply that it SHOULDN'T work in the anime world. Afterall, the anime has a lot more to work with given that they aren't bounded to JUST using a move on the opponent but on their environment as well, for instance. Basically, in the "real life" version of pokemon, there are far more factors to worry about. Perhaps it WAS intended for ground types to be mostly immune to electricity unless it was a ridiculously off the wall amount of energy directed at them and its a skilled electric versus say.... a weaker ground type. In the game, it's too much of a bother to account for way too many different variables so they just drew the line clearly and said: If ground, immune to electric.

However, as I said, we shouldn't be holding the anime to the video game rules. Ex. Moves with 100 acc (not the never miss one) such as scratch will always hit in the video games (if nothing comes into play such as minimize or sand attack) but in the anime, the pokemon will sure as hell try to dodge sharp ass claws coming to their face or at the very least, they CAN. Not happening in the video games though. So yeah, once again video game=/= anime.

The whole "aim for the horn" part WAS really odd. That much is obvious. Sure it didn't follow the exact same principles of the game... but that's because... it's not the game.

(Of course we'd still like it if it stuck as close as possible to it)

God, Cynthia is so sexy. By far the best Champion in the Pokemon series (yes, even better than GARY). And definitely the best female trainer. Not even a competition there.

I'll never forget the first time I fought her. I didn't spoil any aspect of Diamond/Pearl beforehand, so facing her actually surprised me. It was glorious.

And to think I once admired your views. You sexist son of a bitch, nobody is better than Gary.
