Is it just me or does anyone else have trouble comboing? I mean i feel like the maps in MS are too large and the spawn is too slow to keep a combo up. I usually get like combos around 12 before something respawns my combo is already dead, if im lucky and the spawn is quick and the monsters come towards me instead of away from me i can get 50-55 combo at best... I find it damn near impossible to keep a decent combo up in solo training. Now how i unlocked the combo master medal was easy ant hill with a friend but solo best i seem to be able to do is like 55. Does anyone else have this trouble? Are Arans forced to party to keep up a good combo? Am i just not training in the right maps or the right way? Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

It's a good thing you kill Monsters before you get 10 combos! You should be happy, only combo hoars care. Now even though Aran is based on Combos, you really shouldn't worry because you're not even 3rd job and most your skills dones require you to have 30+ combo. Just use this easy KOing ability to level quickly.
Also, if it's that important just use shitty equipment or train at higher leveld monsters.

You need to train on maps with very high spawn with high-ish HP.
The Magatia maps are pretty good, allowing for VERY high combos.
If you're killing one monster at a time, you're doing it wrong.

What level are you? Ant Tunnel MD is a great place to get 500+ combos.

im currently level 37 and yah i kill most things in less than 6 hits, i was follow a skill build that has me save SP from 39-45 and dump it all into that smash skill 700% dam thingy, and that is the most powerful skill in 2nd job by far but im concerned that if im avg like 12 hit combos how the hell will i be able to ever even use that skill, its super rare i get into the 30's ive been doing CPQ you would think that place of all places you'd be hitting 30 combos easily, but i still find the spawn too slow sadly enough ive killed everything and im at like a 12 hit combo and before the crap can respawn my combo is long gone.... *sighs*

What maps are you at? I can easily get 200+ Combos at cPQ without even trying. In kMS, getting 30 combos took 3-10 seconds. o__o
Are you Trade Win PQing? Have the other team spawn Trojans (Or Roms, when you can handle them) with Speed. <3

Seems to me like autoloot is a HUGE help in keeping combo up... I'm usually stuck with a choice between looting & loosing combo or burning meso like crazy to keep the combo going.

This is true, looting doesn't help you if you want to keep your combo. The only choice is to burn pots :/

It really isn't, I had to unequip half my gear and avoid using Double just to get a 500 combo.
Iron Mutaes are the first place where keeping combos going is effortless - you just move around the map and there are always monsters.

What level were you when you tried? Trying at 20 or 30 won't have the same results as trying at 15.

17, I think. I was doing quests or something until then.
Generally my "natural combo" from starting at the top and comboing to the bottom at that level was around 200 by the time I killed the last Zombie Mushroom. If I held off once it was down to a couple left, I could push it to 300 or so. So I took off my atk WG and switched to a 20 atk Yellow Rose, and managed to make 450 before it died out. That's when I stopped using Double swing...
I went back at level 29 for the other quests and never saw a 100+ combo, everything just died.

I've only ever been on un/poorly funded characters, so maybe that's part of it.
Kill all the Horny Mushies, go to top, AFK for 5-10 minutes. Repeat a few times. go to bottom and find Zombie hoard. <3

Get body pressure. As you take touch damage it'll damage the monster back. This DOES add to your combo counter makes it so you have a bit of extra time to get the next hit in. This'll give you a few extra hits in your combo AND it stops you from taking physical damage if it activates the status effect on the monsters.
As for killing monsters too quickly, that's fine only if its a group of monsters that dies quickly. Even if you lose your combo afterwards it doesn't matter, for now at least. At cpq, if you can't hit trojans, try using an acc glove (that's what I did at first) and have the opponents summon trojans. I constantly get combos of at least 200, then I'll just activate drain for the hell of it. But it'll be easy to get even higher.
If you're looking to get the combo medal, go to magatia lab b-3 and try those guys out.

Yeah, an unfunded character typically does less damage than what we do with half our gear off and not using Double, thanks to Blessing of the Fairy.
Swampy Land in a Deep Forest 1 is much better than Ant Tunnel MD for building up combos at level 17 or 18 if you're funded. They have much more HP and the platforms are closer together.

I got my 500 combo at level 22 while I was at Boar Land 1 doing a quest. I wasn't even paying attention to combos at first but when I realized I was at 150 after clearing the top once without respawns, I thought I might as well go for it.
It was pretty effortless until 400 or so. After that I resorted to kiting stuff around with normal attacks spaced at intervals, which did the job. Boar Land doesn't have a very good structure for keeping up combos at all so it would be that much easier somewhere like Sahel.
Then again, unfunded character with only level 3 Blessing.

I got over 1k combos in CPQ and iron mutaes, but i'm at unfunded level 35 ish (rigged cpq with guildies ) Mithril Mutaes work just as well =)
you could get speed equips to move around faster as well. seems to help more than attack stuff sometimes.

Low lvl Body Pressure helps with keeping up Combo while you loot. Higher lvl sucks for this purpose though.

Comboing is easy. At windraiders at 52, i easily get 2 combo smashes off to kill a whole mob. The great thing about the combo skill, is its based off each monster in the mob. A mob of 1 gets 1 combo per hit, where as a mob of 5 gets 5 combos per hit, meaning you can end a mob of 5 with 30 combo in 6 hits.

ya ive gotten over 1K combo in 3 places, Sand Rats during level ~ 25, Roids in my 4X and CPQ in 4X also, i also easily broke 500 @ zm dungeon and iron mutaes, i could easily bring up a 200 or 300 combo @ MP3 map in 5X and 6X and prety easily bring up a 400 combo in windraider map if you do the jump down and pwn em along the right side or bounce off the storm breakers lol
moral of the story.... Lrn2Combo
