I'm going to buy a Chinchilla. :x

Wow, I would just wonder how my cats would react to a dog of any sort, never had one, and I've only had cats for a couple of years. The top one (Martin) I found in my backyard skinny as pomegranate, and bottom one I adopted (Lilith).

It's nice to see that people that actually care about animals. It's a good thing that you did take Martin in. I know so many people around here that would've turned it away. The world would be a better place if we had some more people like yourself. :/

And in regards to the Chinchillas. My mom goes "Diego, they are dirty little rodents. NO!"

I was like "NUUUUUUU T.T" Then I looked up the Dust Bath thingy... I would die of sneezing. Heh

I have a platypus-cat and a dog. The cat beat the pomegranate out of my dog ( Beagle, pitbull, bullmastiff mix). Oh and my son's aunt has a chinchilla and my cat beat it up while it was in it's clear ball. Epic I must say.

Like, this kinda sucks. The nearest place only has 1 Chinchilla, and they don't get them often. It's $130 which isn't bad. Also, I'm going to need the dust bath stuff, a wheel, a hide box, bedding, food and some toys. So, It'll end up being around $250, which isn't a bad deal. I'll end up buying a larger cage, so if I do end up getting another one, they both will have room. ^^ Anyways, I should have one in about a week, and I'll post pics of it. God, I just hope it isn't already sold when we go get it. T_T

Look into their habits. I found out that Hamsters don't do well together if they weren't raised together from birth only after buying a second one. :[

Chinchillas are quite adorable and seem like they'd be a really interesting pet rather than hamsters and other rodents which bore me to death. However, after having a cat for many years who isn't very attached to me(well he loves me to death but doesn't like spending lots of time with me lol) which I would prefer, I think my next pet is going to have to be a dog. lol

They don't bathe in water, they take dust baths. I think the water does something to their fur they don't like.

Yea. Cats and rodents have some kind of thing with their fur/body that doesn't do well with water. :[

I had 2 Hamsters once, they bit sometimes, but it was never me thank god.

Then they ended up having a bunch of babies, and the Dad ate some of the babies. I found like half bodies in the cage. So then I just got rid of them all.

every animal with teeth bite. chinchillas and rabbits will nibble a bit to get familiar with someone, but it tickles more then it hurts :3

seeing the vid of the chinchilla taken the dust bath makes me wanna get one even more now... :o

Yeah, I read they only really bite is when they're scared. The other times they 'bite', it's playful and meaningless. Not intended to hurt you.

Watching Video's on YouTube are what mainly got me wanting one. I seriously have watched that Dust Bath thing about 20 times. I think the date got moved up, I should be getting one Saturday now. =] Only 2 moreee dayyyssss.

Maybe you could get all the stuff you NEED for the chinchillas first then see if the petstore/pet place can order 2 that are both male >_> that way you could get 2 at once =\

Darn, no Chinchilla today. T_T I actually had two Grad parties to attend too. It's kinda funny, all my friends are excited about me getting a Chinchilla. O_o

I was actually thinking this. But, like I said they're $130, so that'd be about $280 with tax (Lol can they tax pets?). Then it's probably going to be around $150 for supplies (cage, food, toys, treats, etc). Today (sunday) my friend and I are going to head up to the pet store, see if I can order them and at least buy the supplies.

My mom is somehow convinced that they're filthy pets, which they really aren't. They're also very easy to take care of. Also, I have the time to take care of it. I'd just need to chin-poof my room, or some large area. O_o

Lol I would LOVE to have a chinchilla but saddly I got an ability that makes me get bored to death with every pet after 1 month or so =S so I don't have any pet, I wonder what is better to take care to a chinchilla or a dog? :f6:
