Gasp its deleted!

I knew someone would delete the million posts thread I just knew it! Cause almost all forms of authority on any website are too mean to let something get even close to a million posts!

#1. It wasn't deleted.

#2. It was a COMPLETE spamfest and a ton of the posts were completely worthless. It had devolved into a counting thread. Spam is cool here, but that's just crap.

I think the biggest argument would be that such threads waste space database space, and since Fiel pays for the size of the database, well, yeah.

Spam posts should at least be worthy of being read for some reason. Random keyboard gibberish (or worthless counting or otherwise worthless, meaningless posting) is worthless and serves no reason but to increase postcount.

Frankly, I'm all in favor of deleting any such thread. I see the top poster on this forum has nearly 300 more posts than the next highest poster... I have trouble believing all of those posts contributed to the thread in a manner which is worthy of being read. Nearly 300 posts ahead, yet the third highest poster is only behind #2 by about 30.

Closed, not deleted. But yeah. The server must not like a million posts in a topic anyway.

Then that sort of thread would be truly ENTIRELY worthless. It wouldn't even give the user benefit of inflated ego. Do these posts in these forums count toward forum totals or not then?

It doesn't. I made well over 100 posts in the million thread and 1000 (I think) in the funhouse, yet my post count is only 71 (72 with this post).

We're only doing this for fun.

I really wanted to see all the people disappointed when it got to 999,999 posts and got closed...

Seems to me the challenge isnt to get to 1 million but how far it can get before being closed for spam! I'd personally like to see Fiel's current closing of it as a warning and reopening it and closing it again if it gets out of hand again but that's just me. Im no admin here so I have no say in the situation. Im actually surprised it got over 1000 before getting closed xD

Funny thing is, second or third post in that thread comments on it not counting towards post count
