You get medals for being 1st/2nd/3rd/4th Job, if that's what you mean. Just talk to the Medal NPC guy.

If you mean Explorer medals, simply explore the various places in Vic/other continents and you get a medal for it after talking to the NPC.

is it what ever town you finish it in you get the metal for that place?

If you have a medal quest already in progress, are you still able to retrieve your job medal? I'm in the middle of the Toukyou Messiah medal quest in JMS and if the Adventurer medals come, they'd be really helpful with Future Toukyou. ;x

When I logged on my Marauder today, I could pick up my Adventurer medals with my Vet Hunter still in progress.

@TS, town specific medals are either donation medals, or explorer medals; for exploring the maps around that town.

The Adventurer medals can be obtained anytime, they're automatically registered. Once you step in an area, it'll automatically be counted. And you get a medal for each continent;

Sleepywood and the rest of Vic (Beginner) make up 2 medals while finishing both let you gain the Victoria medal.
Anything outside of that (Orbis, Nath, Mu Lung, Ludi, Leafre, etc etc) all have their own medals and make up the Ossyria medal.

Those two medals make up the Maple Adventurer medal.

Right now I have the Victoria Adventurer Medal and am gonna try for the other continents but it required me to go through all those places even though I haven been there before the patch.

Job medals should be obtained no matter what you're doing, really. Once I logged in after the patch, I got 4 notices saying I got all 4 medals at once. XD

No one knows what you are talking about. Get a screenshot and improve your read writing and grammar skills. It'd be adventurer medal.

It kind of annoys me that since the patch, the quest medal specialist doesn't show up in the quest list anymore. I know I'm close to 800 but I have no clue how close...

There's a new medal hotkey, which shows your current medals, medals in progress, and available ones. Go put it on a key if it isn't already.

You can do multiple medal quests at once now.

Yes, they do. The new list is just something that shows you the medals you've gotten. Like a questlist for medals.
