Event Announcement Replies Disabled

Dear Maplers,

Please be aware that we are disabling the comment feature on the MapleStory event announcements to prevent abuse until further notice. Spammers have been misusing the function and we want to ensure this feature works as intended before bringing it back live.

But the feature has never ever since I started playing functioned as it is expected to. Took them long enough to realize something should be done so that they don't look too much of a fool right at their own site.

Yeah, i'm surprised more SPers didn't know about this.

Id say most SPers dont go to the site for the announcements a-@ personally, it takes me easily 1 minute + on a dial up connection just to get to the main page, while it takes me less than half that time to get to SP and view it here.

Seriously, whenever I check an event on the main site the first comment I see:

"omg guys i just got free nx go here *insert scam site* to get NX urself!!!!"
It's a good idea on their part, the comments aren't a big deal anyway.

I have seen those comments take over 1/2 the total comments. Nexon should disable it permanently, because if they ever put back the comments, we will most likely see those noobs going "Go to (scam site) to get free stuff from Nexon!"

Well, they *could* make the comments moderated.
But seeing how understaffed they are, allocating someone to read comments and decide what's spam and what's legitimate... nah, just leave comments off. It's not like they're going to act on them even if people make meaningful comments.

So how are they going to "ensure this feature works as intended"? Get a really bored guy to read all the comments and moderate them? :f6:

before basil, i was on the nexon forums of old. then they changed the forums from the various world-specifics to the eye-sore it is now. once that happened, i shipped out to basil. now im here.
