For the bowmen: Has the bandwagon affected you?
#21
Scrolls inflated a bit. Not that I scroll much anyway, so, no it hasn't affected me.

I became a bowman because I enjoyed sniping in HHG. To be honest, I have rather rosy memories of n00b armor at lvl 10. 4th job had this effect on everybody, not just the bowmen. A 180lvl Bishop on my server quit and sold all his ultra-godly equips to fund his Hero because he was sick of the "wannabee Bishes" running around. How you distinguish a wannabee bishop from an actual bishop is beyond me, because they spam the same Genesis.

Unlike some people here, I don't think Bowman was ever a "cheap" class. If you think about it, the vast majority of your equipment is compatible with other classes. For example, you might want a 4 att 6 Dex cape, a 15 att Stormcasters or a 5 Dex Facestompers; all of which could be wanted by non-bowmen. As for the price of bows, well, purchasing like a 115 att Metus was never easy. Finding one is hell, affording one is also hell. And if you're talking unfunded, I've always been told that Clerics are good unfunded; but for choosing that you could now be accused of bandwagoning. :XD

I'd have to say that the bandwagon has a limited effect on 4th job. Most of the Bowmasters I am aware of have been around for a while. And if a new one pops up, is he really a shmuck for deciding to be one because of Sharp Eyes? I feel worse for the Dragon Knights, who had a nice, cushy 3rd job and are completely screwed now. Getting to 120 beats the bandwagon out of anybody, I think. If you get there, you deserve your Sharp Eyes.

The biggest advantage Bowmen have, I'd say, is that none of their skills drops from Horntail. Just MW 20, like everybody else. SE 20 is expensive, yeah, but grinding like 6 lvls on Sharks is simply not the same as trying to get TT30 or Gen30.

It honestly can't not affect anybody, but the good part about crossbow scrolls is that people still sell them cheap as hell in MTS, so anyone that can work MTS a bit can get all the scrolls they need right there. That's how I've been getting away with higher prices.

pineapple the Bandwagon. My 14x Marksman's rank has dropped 200 places since the release of 4th job. Not only that but Crossbows are now ridiculously priced.

CROSSBOWS.

Goddamn...I was lucky enough to get my SE 20 for free.

se 20 and 30 prices these days really make me glad i got them back when 20 was 80m and 30 was 20-30m.

only thing that pisses me off these days is how pricey 30% crossbow is now. Sad

30% Crossbow is ridiculous for me right now, but the biggest problem is that nobody is consistent with Crossbow prices. If I search hard enough I can generally find a cheap one, but every other one differs by nearly a million meso.

I don't believe there IS a bandwagon. Scroll prices are increasing for all classes, not just Bowmen. SE 20 is expensive because it's rare as hell, and if you haven't noticed, alot of things are more expensive then they were before.

Even so, the term bandwagon wouldn't be proper for an influx in Archers, as Bandwagon is doing something because everyone ELSE is doing it. Calling someone a bandwagoner because they make an Archer is generally ignorant.

They should be called "Peoplewhothinktheycangetto4thjobbutseriouslycan't"

Rolls off the tongue, eh?

yea, heres a kicker. I bought my zrun today, and got my helm. The two others buying just happened to BOTH be 5x hunters, and BOTH paid for vips >_>. Thats MAJOR proff of the bandwagon >_> effect.

Strafe is the hottest thing ever~ That's why I made my bowman - yes, I'm your typical bandwagon Archer~

I don't regret being an archer, (and not for the reason you claim Jack) but being a Bowman forever is kind of boring =o. A mix of stuffs is best imo~

I dont even know if I can consider myself a bandwagoner. I thought bomb arrow looked cool because I was bored with my mage, I guess I made a permanent switch over.
This all took place around the 3rd week GMS came out. Does that make me a bandwagoner?

BTW YOU ARE SO BANDWAGONING JACKK OMFG GTFO YOU NUBCAKE. jkz

Just by coincidence I met Jackk in kpq LUL! back in kpq's name was "PQ" lol remember that? I do. That was probably when I decided to become a hunter.

OMFG BOMB ARROW <3333

Ima lvl 38 bowman does that make me a bandwagoner no ive had one sice before i even knew about 4th job.
But thats not the point.
Does it effect me yes...I sell the scrolls and make money $$$
I chose bowman cause i was inspired by a bowman in mardia that will remain anonomous you know who you are.
Anyways i think everything is rising and more people are playing maple.
It was inevitable vut hey it just means staying in fm a bit more and make more money.
Annoying yes worth it yes.
End result same. But hey correct me if im wrong Im not saying im right just my opinion.

Well, prices, yeah.

But I still like my class, so whatever.

archer from day 1. i haven't even attempted to scroll since 60 because of the price hikes due to bandwagoning. Hopefully the pirate bandwagon will alleviate our troubles though.

Looking here, I notice almost everyone mentioning the price increase. However, I think some others have been bringing up a good point: Its not just archers... EVERYTHING has been going up in price and well... sadly, we just have to get used to it. Our increase in prices might not be due to the bandwagoning at all but rather all of maple's community inflating (All my friends that hoard 30% bow scrolls/other bow related things are actually old school archers >_<)

I really think the whole bandwagon thing is blown out of proportion. Everything is definitely going up. There was an increase in bowman stuff, but I think it's because with 4th job they are actually useful, whereas before they were a crappy class that you just played for fun. Before people tell me I'm trolling, which seems to be an after-effect of SW's ridiculous rules, I played a Ranger to 13X and that's simply how I felt. All skills that make the class what it is are expensive, even for classes like F/P (referring to Meteor Shower). Add to that that the skill only drops from a boss (I know it drops from Sharks, but pineapple that *bad memories*) that was already frequently sought out BEFORE it dropped anything with any notable value, and you get the SE 20 price. People aren't quitting their NLs for BMs or anything, because NLs are still more wanted, only one SE mule is needed per party. The Bishop bandwagon, however, is much more apparent, and it would be impossible for me to deny that.

Being an Archer, it obviously affected me, but it isn't as big a deal as it is made to seem, nor did it bother me, and this is coming from someone that is quite lacking and still needing to purchase a lot as far as equipment goes.

yeah i have access to almost every class as well (except beginners... way too lazy for that)...
and access to at least 3 3rd job classes...
I think my archer is the most fun character i've ever played. But i still like flash jump from the hermits... that's a lot of fun to mess around with =P

I don't think we really need to care for the bandwagon of 4th jobbers... I mean Archers are among one of the most difficult classes to get to 120, it will be hard for those who don't like slow training to even get as far as 9x, but i guess with the 2x exp cards and teh uber godliness of their equips it could happen...

I think i'll stick with my ranger because it is a fun class and i'm near 120 now (only 23 more levels lololololl)
