I probably wouldn't play were it not for the fact that I don't even have to turn my head from looking at my computer screen to see my TV. Shine

Plus, the game itself isn't that bad. It's the people that suck.

Just decided to uninstall the game. Months passed, I am now:

- A vampire. Staying awake from 2am to 7am working a sleazy student Operator job maintaining site administration servers for my University.

- Taking the maximum amount of credits I can possibly take and considering talking to the dean to see if they will let me take up to seven courses a semester. I'm in denial about my real abilities and I don't care.

-I go out more on a weekly basis and share my cynical attitude with the closest of friends. Friends? Who needs them.

-I'm single, because I'm too power-hungry to be satisfied with where I am in life and can't afford to waste time in a relationship.

-Completely sober. I drink root bear because of it's low phosphoric / sorbic acid content that prevents me from getting cavities & plaque. I still get cavities which require the dentist to drill through my teeth and fill it with fake plastic fillings making my bottom left jaw essentially 75~80% fake.

I miss the good old times when I played MS every so often. It was hypnotizing and helped me relax. I jog and do all that stuff as well. But I was always fit to begin with even while playing MS. I could start eating more protein and hit the gym, but I'm always scared of not being able to maintain a certain weight and then all of it becoming globby arm-fat. The horror scares me more than the honorifics. Life is a scary game. Maple Story not so much.

The social aspect is what keeps a lot of people in it, including myself. Thats why better core games like LaTale and such cant stand up to MapleStory, its built such a strong community and fanbase already. If I didnt have real life and online friends playing Maple I'd have completely quit long ago. That said, I will probably quit once something better comes along, hopefully DFO.

The people who need to quit a game to move on with their lives have always confused me a little, theres no moderation for them, you either have to have the game, or you cant at all, I just dont get that.

I didn't quit because of addiction though, I quit because the game got boring to me. Has nothing to do with the fact that I'm slow at gaining levels either.. It's just.. 'boring'.

Exhibit A:

Person #1: OH HAI GUIZ, wtp IS UP!
Person #2: O SUP!
Person #3: HI!!! <3

Moments later..

Person #1: -ferociously grinding in front of his or her laptop and wasting 4 hours PER day-!!!!!

Point being, it's a waste of time if you're doing this because you're buying double exp and feel like you MUST grind . . . Where as in a simple 4 hours, I could be going out jogging or going to the gym. I just 'found' better things to do now, is all.. >_>

But yeeeeah, MS did get prettyyyyyy boriiiing... I was thinking of playing Phantasy Star Online, Ragnarok Online, or just completely quit Online Gaming, and just move on to portable-console gaming since it's 'on the go' and you feel less constraint to 'grindinz' every day, ya know? Game's boring, period. `~`

PS: I'm surprised you took my post literal too, this IS the funhouse, but since you did, so did I in this post, sorta.. lololol

1. I've never been the type to enjoy working out, and am actually uncomfortable with the idea of having muscle. I've always been scrawny and I enjoy it. I am fit enough for military standards and that is fine for me.

2. I ENJOY grinding in maplestory. It's fun, provided I don't do more than 1 6-8hour grind per week.

3. I can't go drinking

4. I prefer NOT to drive a lot here, the people are assnuggets on the road.

That said, I may quit when I hit 200 on my PA DrK.

Ok, you know what... you are officially cool on my list! <___<! Just for knowing about ToVS! +__+! But yeah, ToVS is coming out in NA, I think. Namco Bandai trademarked it, heh. Which should boost the chances by quite a lot. As for RM2, well, looks way better! I wanna try that too!

@MasPan: o_0 Depending on your definition of having 'muscles', if you mean like pro body-building, I'm not into 'that'. I just like to be in shape, being fit, and looking 'atheletic', not looking like The Terminator . . .

I find having muscles proves that you actually enjoy going outside quite a bit and finding better things to do with your time, imo. =x Then again, I know a lot of guys that I've befriended that looks waaaaaay more buff than I do now, that plays MMOs and goes to LAN parties quite often, some people just try to balance it a bit, some would rather just lift and exercise and not get involved in gaming, and some are just pure gamers. I used to be a 'gamer' to the extreme, but I once I realized all that did was waste time and it just slowly deteriorate my body, I chose to do something else more pro-active, is all.

What I mean is I hate looking athletic. I don't like having a lot of definition - I enjoy playing sports and doing things outside, but, similar to an MMO, when you start having to routinely work to maintain it, especially just for looks, it becomes nothing more than what grinding is - a lot of hard work to either maintain the status quo or slowly improve. Maybe it's because I know I HAVE to maintain a certain level of fitness that I dislike working out, but then, I never really have enjoyed it. I'm just not into it. I'm a healthy weight, don't have much fat, but simply don't have muscle either.

Part of it also stems from my metabolism - I can't put on either fat or muscle, despite my best efforts.

Cool story bro. Getting drunk and being a player is TOTALLY the way of life. So is talking about your social life like ThaWiz, while saying people taking your MS rant seriously are idiots.

Guess I fail since I only:
Go to my friend's house every week.
Attend weekend online DnD sessions
Care for my sisters
Full-time student
Play almost everyday on Maple for 3-4 hours
Waste idle time on TVTropes, shows on my hard drive, and catching up on online comics
Watch a movie every 2-3 weeks
Completed over 20-25 games on my DS
Try my hand at new recipes

Quit playing Tales, and maybe we'll talk. To spite you, I will hit 200 on my pirate, quit, and then play WoW.

*If you take this seriously, I lol at you.

No really, who said you can't play MS and not have a life? Apparently Conciente does it, and I bet countless other 200s were able to get to 200 without losing all contact with society.
