I dont get it?

Are they mentally retarted?
Do they honestly think a 2x EXP Event = No Grinding...?

No, 2x means your grinding has twice the value, therefore you work half as hard. Doubling and halving are intermediate math.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

And that's why you don't play MS. Grinding for short periods of time (1-2 hours) is actually fun for me. It's the 4 hour sessions for days in a row that kill me.

But that happens with most activities.

People as a whole never stop grinding, so they're helping people grind less by giving them 2x.

But you're not understanding...
They're telling you to take a break from grinding, and offering 2x EXP to grind some more, but with more ease.

LOL... It's like your boss saying you don't have to work today, but if you do your getting twice the pay an hour.

Actually you're not understanding.

"Break" does not solely, explicitly, and unequivocally mean "stop". That'd be "brake" and a whole different context.

Break can also mean to lessen someone's burden - For example "give me a break" means "make it easier on me"

All they're saying is they've made it easier to gain XP.

That's the break they're giving players.

Why must the semantics of this be argued every damn time?

It's a pineappleing Nexon announcement, not The Word Of God. Stop analyzing it for the Meaning of Life and just accept it for what it is already.

This doesn't technically mean it, but it's what most maplers think...

"If there's a 2x EXP Event today, then rather than doing something else, I gotta play MapleStory for 2 hours, rather than none at all..."
