1 boost, 1 doesn't matter, 1 rapid fire - dojo build. rapid fire level 1 to go far in the dojo and get black belt. or if dojo training (pap, mu gong?) is effective.
long story short: how useful are octopi 1, air strike 1, rapid fire 1 and BS\torp combo.
rapid fire 1 is not useful, Burst fire does more damage, Torp 1 is not useful it only hits 3(or was it 2) for meh damage, octopi 1 i would assume is prety useless in trainingand bossing>.>, air strike kinda fails @ all levels from what ive seen from 1-15 but ya lvl 1 is prety bad its more of a fun skill, 1 bs is prety much needed tho, if youre good with ice u wont lose it that much buttt all skills kinda suck @ lvl 1 >.> even cannon, from what i saw, you need 2-3 lvl's of .. lvling to get to be a true corsair, cause you will just end up using burst fire anyways

Honestly they all suck at level 1. For your first 3 points, I'd recommend 1 ship 2 cannon then put your points into cannon until you get it to level 11, which would be level 123. At 124, put a point into boost and 1 into octo or AS and then keep putting points into cannon till it gets to 21. Getting cannon to 11 is crucial, since that's when you start hitting 4 times and your damage will go way way up. And you get another big boost from 20->21 so you'll want to get that real soon too.

I thought cannon became four hits at lvl 16? Also, the dilemma comes to how you acquire the skillbook. In certain servers, Mardia especially, Cannon 20 is 45m and Cannon 30 is upwards of 60m

Cannon hits 4 times at level 11. I specifically remember sitting there with cannon 10 and points saved drooling over the fourth hit in the next level description. Yes, unfortunatly cannon 20 and 30 are probably two of the hardest skill books to come by. Cannon 20 comes from Griffey (bleh) and dark wyverns (more bleh). Cannon 30 doesn't seem as expensive, it's gone down a lot since people leech at red wyverns and it seems to drop not that uncommonly. But yes, those two books are definitely two of the hardest ones to acquire, since killing Griffey is massive pot burn at 12x. At least solo.

11 cannon at 123 does sound tempting, i'll be aiming towards 1 BS 2 cannon at 120 then cannon to 11 asap, only then the boost point. (i assume another freeze sec isn't that important?)

The extra second freeze is very helpful, I found. Since your ship will have very very little HP early on, the extra second freeze can be a real shipsaver. And it's also the answer to your question earlier, which skill was the most useful with a single point in it, although it wasn't a choice
But yes, get cannon to 11 first. The damage kinda sucks until then, so you can hold off on the point into boost till after cannon gets to 11.

The extra one second freeze with level 1 Ele Boost is huge enough to be worth delaying 11 Cannon to 124, imo.
