Strless Slinger?
#1
right now i have a strless slinger at lvl 26.

range: 13 ~ 129

these seems really low?

is it a good idea for me to stay strless, or do you suggest an alternate idea?

I will be using the tube when i hit 30, and a maple gun when i hit 35.
I have the perm agent overall, 20 badge's for the gloves, 20 int doc's, and 5 agent points Sad

suggestions or comments?

Gunslingers do have a low range, I'm not sure if that's extra low.

Since guns only require str=level, and follow the normal +5 atk every 10 levels, it's probably better to be low-str in the end, but str-less until maybe 70-80.

That'll change at level 35. If it doesn't, you did something wrong.

A lot of the people in the Pirate ranges threads have a lot of funding behind their characters, so don't be surprised if your range is lower. I have some pretty nice gear and still can barely compete with some people in my level range (86), and a couple people just completely amaze me with theirs.

i figure str-less slingers and str-less archers being in the same boat. They fail at the higher levels, assuming you don't have a godly scrolled level 64 maple weapon.

Low str is likely the best bet, hell even normal str really o_o

This. Early on, you may see some advantage to it, but in higher levels it's better to have 5 more attack than 10 more DEX.

Actually str-less slingers are vastly different then str-less archers, since our str req is only our lvl, where are archers are totally ruined by the str req on their gear. Slingers can choose to be str-less,low-str, or reg str, its the same that goes for dex-less vipers, it is really up to preference, as well as funding to be honest.

Again, though, the benefit to it really isn't too noticeable after 8x or so unless you have some pretty generous funding.

Xbow men and women have their str requirement = level Goggleemoticon

cept clothes, which have no str requirement o_O

Gunslingers' ranges are highly dependent on weapon attack. For that reason, going str-less forever is definitely going to hinder you. If there was ever a level 90 str-less gun akin to the level 90 dexless claw, then it could be considered that str-less was equal to or better than a concerto user, but probably not to a timeless/reverse blindess user, simply because they have so much more weapon attack.

Now with the 52 stats to all Horntail Pendant STRless slingers are going to reign. Those who are low-str will need to reset. (that is if the decision to keep or nerf the pendant is finalized)

I said this in another thread, No one "needs" to reset, Some people dont care if they have 3 attack less than somone else.

I for one wouldn't spend 15 dollars to do 150 more damage.

It's really 94 stats vs 8~12 attack. For a 12 attack it's better if you're much higher + you won't have a surplus of str. If you can get a +52 all stat pendant, chances are your gears are pretty good and can pull str from elsewhere.

Ahh, but chances are most people don't have a 12 atk MoN. At least the +52 all stat HT pendant is accessable for a cheap (imo) price of 1.5-1.8b.

I have a tendency to throw words like "need" around when it comes to more stats, but yeah i guess you are right. I do perfer the extra HP from the MoN over the HT pendant. (255 DEF doesn't reduce 300 damage) I am one of those people who would gladly pay for more stats however. 3 atk is still alot...
