The logical way to fix it would be to evaluate "slots - hammers" to compare to reqRUC. So if you hammered it once, it needs 4 slots. Twice and it needs 5.

They fixed Kino pet to work with everything.
Fixed Eurek's quest (and many other quests) to work with Cygnus Cygnus can now get multipet
