Bypassing super def up
#1
Barrage has a chance to bypass super def up?? I was doing boss raid and the monkey used super def up, and I used barrage, 1st barrage did 6 1s, but second barrage's 4th and 6th hit did normal damage, while the other 4hits did 1s. Something wrong? o.O

4th and 6th, or 5th and 6th? It might have something to do with the doubling multiplier, though I don't know how that would work.

(Slightly off-topic, but the 6th hit can't break 199999, right?)

I believe I've seen this quite often at Zak, and I was fairly sure it wasn't magic attacks.

It was 4th and 6th. These 2 hits seemed like they weren't affected by the def up at all. But the other 4hits were 1s.

Not sure if the last hit can break cap or not, as I'm far away from hitting it lol.

Sometimes it happens. I recall that archers' strafe someimes crit'd showing an obviously larger number than 1, on goby houses with def up. Maybe this is the same thing or related?

^Should be the same thing. It's not necessary critical tho, just see it another time on the bear boss, 3rd barrage hit without critical. And it's not client side too, because it kills.

It happens with everyskill, its just that most skills dont get as many hits in. With hurricane, youll see one hit every now and then breaking the 1s, same with Strafe, its just that more hits are getting in with these kinda skills, while other are using slower skills that hit once, maybe twice, showing 1s.

Does it actually do the damage it shows?

Like it was said above, every skill can do this, it all comes down to how fast you're dealing damage. This is the main reason people keep attacking during weapon block, because you can sneak a hit or two past. The faster the skill, the more likely you are to do it.

And yes, it actually does the dmg it shows. I've seen people kill when they hit past the block.

i don't think it has more to do with when it hits rather than how often. never in any zaks have i ever seen anything past a 1 during this. however, sometimes it still does more damage when you hit it at a specfic time, like a split second after the icon appears, not casts. i've noticed that some hits do 1 and the others do more than 1, but only at that time. everything else past that was just 1's.

it never did that before, so i guess it got changed in the past year. it never did that while i was training at gobies on a bandit.
