1. Basic Knights of Cygnus Info
What is a Cygnus Knight?
A Cygnus Knight is a character that is created in Ereve, and is somewhat a knock off of the Adventurer Classes. There are 5 different types of Knights: Flame Wizard, which uses the power of Fire; Soul Master, which uses the power of the Soul; Night Walker, which uses the power of Darkness; Windbreaker, which uses the power of the Wind; and Thunder Breaker, which uses the power of Lightning. In this guide, I will be focusing on Thunder Breakers.
2. Making a Cygnus Knight
How do you create a Cygnus Knight?
Well, it depends on the version that you play as to what creation method you shall use. Basically, there is an Old Way, and a New Way. Currently, the only version to use the New Way is Korean Maplestory. I will explain how to create a Cygnus character in both ways.

A. Old Creation Method

In the Old Way, a player must have at least a level 20 Adventurer Character in order to make a Cygnus on the desired server. After you have met that simple pre-requisite, take the boat to Ereve. The boats to Ereve can be found in Ellinia and Orbis. Once there, go to the far right of Ereve until you find the NPC Nienheart. Nienheart will then tell you to speak to the Divine Bird, to her right, in order to make a Cygnus Nobless, or beginner. A character creation window will pop up, and you can choose what your new Cygnus will look like.

B. New Creation Method

Currently, Korean Maplestory is the only version that has this method. This way, unlike the other way, you do NOT need a previous character of any level on the desired server. On the character select screen, you just simply click New Character, and select the Knights of Cygnus option, and your new Cygnus will start out in Ereve.
3. Spirits Blessing
Spirits Blessing is a unique skill that is based on the Cygnus characters. Basically, this skill is linked from your Cygnus character to your Parent adventurer character. Based on your Adventurers or Cygnus level, you will get different stat boosts from this skill. This skill offers Magic Attack, Weapon Attack, Accuracy, and Avoidability. For every 10 levels that your Cygnus Character gets, your Adventurer character will get 1 point put into this skill automatically. For every 10 levels that your Adventurer character gets, your Cygnus character will get 1 point into this skill automatically. The max level of this skill for a Cygnus is level 20, seeing as the max level for an adventurer character is level 200. The max level for this skill for an adventurer is 12, seeing as a Cygnus character can only get to level 120.
4. Ereve Training Grounds
Once you have created your Cygnus character, you will start out in Ereve instead of Maple Island. If you ask me, getting from 1-10 on a Cygnus is 30 times faster than getting 1-10 on an adventurer. Basically, all you do is quests in the Ereve Training Grounds. The quests are simple, such as killing 5 monsters, 10 monsters, 15 monsters, etc. Level 10 should pretty much be a breeze. When you have reached level 10, return to the room that Nienheart is in.
5. Advancing to Thunder Breaker
You are now level 10, and ready to advance to a Cygnus Knight Thunder Breaker, the master of Lightning! Its quite simple to advance. Just talk to Nienheart, and she will tell you to talk to the commanders over to her left to find out which class will suit you. In this case, we will be picking Thunder Breaker. Talk to Hawkeye to learn a little about the job, and he will then ask you if you are absolutely sure about becoming a Thunder Breaker. Click yes, and you are now advanced as a Thunder Breaker!
6. Ability Point Distribution
Pretty basic Ability Point (AP) distribution; it is the same as a regular Brawler. Except there is a twist; Knights of Cygnus get 6 AP Points, as opposed to the Adventurer classes 5. You will have 6 points to work with every level, up until level 70, where you will then receive 5 points from then on.
As a Regular Thunder Breaker, Dexterity (Dex) needs to be Equal to your level, and the rest of the points go into Strength (Str). So, if you are a regular Thunder Breaker, you will add 1 point to Dex, and 5 Points to Str.
As a Dexless Thunder Breaker, you will leave Dex at 20, and pump all your AP into Str for the rest of your life. The Dexless build enables you to become stronger, but it comes at a price; it needs heavy funding.
As a Low-Dex Thunder Breaker, you will have low Dex; somewhere between 30-40 Dex. Get Dex to the desired level, and then pump the rest into Str. This requires heavy funding, as well, and will give you extreme damage.
7. 1st Job Skill Point Allocation
The 1st Job Thunder Breaker build is pretty basic and Straightforward. It should look a little something like this:
Explanation:
Get 1 Lightning Sprite at first for that little extra attack at the early levels. After that, max Somersault Kick for mob control. After that, max out Bullet Time for the extra accuracy. Then max out Flash Fist for a good, single mob attack. After those necessities, it then comes down to preference. You can either get Lightning Sprite to 11 for a little extra attacking power, or you can max out Dash for more mobility in towns and training. It all comes down to preference.
8. Training in 1st Job
Well, Im going to let you in on a little secret, that really isnt a secret; Quest. If you do the Cygnus quests, starting at level 10, you can easily get to level 20 without having to train at all. Just quest until you get to about level 20, and pay attention to the Cygnus storyline; its interesting! You will have to train from 20 to 25, however. Just go to a nice, generic training place, like Bubblings or Ant Tunnel to get to level 25. Once you are level 25, you will have some more Cygnus quests to do which should get you to around level 29. Then, just finish off level 29 wherever you want, such as Ant Tunnel.
9. Advancing to 2nd Job
Well, youre level 30 now! You can now advance to the Second Job Thunder Breaker! To do this, simply go to Nienheart, and she will tell you to go to your instructor; in our case, its Hawkeye. He will then tell you to go to Training Field #2 (Right above where you did quests in your early 1st job). All you do is simply kill monsters and collect 30 of the special etc item that they drop. Once you have all 30 drops, go return to Hawkeye. You will now be a 2nd Job Thunder Breaker!
10. 2nd Job Skill Point Allocation
So, this build is a little confusing, and there are several variations of it. I will list as many as I can.

Reasons for this build:
In Global Maplestory, we have low level Lightning-Weak monsters, such as Truckers. Truckers are a great training area, and most people will be training here. You should be 1 hitting truckers very early on with Lightning Charge. The reason of leaving Booster at 11, is just simply because its one of the more useless skills to build up in 2nd Job. You will max that later on in 3rd Job.

Reasons for this build:
If youd like Energy Charge and Energy Blast first for greater mob control and greater mob damage, go with this build. Blast will do very wonderful things in high spawn maps. The reason to leave Booster at 11 is just simply you can max it later. Other skills are more important.
11. Advancing to 3rd Job
The third job advancement is very exciting. Keep in mine that like the 3rd job advancement for Adventurers, you will need one Refined Dark Crystal.
As soon as you level to level 70, Nienheart will contact you and beckon you to come back to Ereve due to an emergency. Nienheart will tell you that a transformer (Forgot his name, lemme know if you know) has transformed into one of the Knight Commanders and have stolen something. It's your job to go and find the false Knight Commander. Give Nienheart a Dark Crystal, and he will give you a Search Warrant to go and find the false Commander. Hurry; it expires in 24 minutes!
To find the false Knight Commander, since we are Thunder Breakers, we will need to go through one of the portals in the Lotus Forest III. To tell the difference between the false Knight Commander and the real one, the false one can only say "....". Double click on the false one to go into an epic battle! After he is defeated, he will drop the stolen item. You will then take it back to Nienheart, and you will then become a 3rd job Thunder Breaker! Congratulations!
12. 3rd Job Skill Point Allocation
3rd Job Skill Point Allocation (Special Thanks to TehMatt)

Reasons For this Build: Sharks is a must have early on. It's fast, it does great damage, and it looks cool! After getting that to 21 for the max number of mobs to hit, you get one of the most useful skills; Critical Punch. It works exactly like a Bowman or Assassin Critical skill. It's similar to a Marauders, but doesn't require a monster to be stunned, so it's very useful. Sparks up next because it's amazing pretty much. It can attack up to 3 monsters around the single target monster, and it does pretty decent damage. After that, finish out Shark Wave. Then save up your points until level 100, so you can max out Barrage at level 100 and do pro damage. After that, Max the 2nd job skill, booster. Booster needs to be maxed in order to get Speed Infusion at level 110. Save your points until level 110, and get 11 points into Speed Infusion. After that, your points are free to be spent on whatever your heart desires.
In my own opinion, I suggest maxing out Energy Drain. It's a very useful skill, and if I remember correctly, it's the fastest skill in the game. Max out Speed Infusion if you'd like. I also suggest maxing out Transform, just for looks and a little bit of Shock Wave. Or, if you're really bored, max out Sprite if you want to...haha
When the energy is fully charged, this will automatically trigger the effects of the Body Attack and Stance, and will allow you to use energy-related skills. Comment: Though it is only 20 levels, some of the stats are as strong as Marauder's level 40. On the whole, though, it's weaker. Max Level: 20

Speed Infusion Description: Uses HP and MP to temporarily increase the attacking speed of a weapon. This can be combined with other boosters, and everyone in the party will have their attacking speed increased. Comment: Completely identical to Buccaneer's Speed Infusion, which makes it the only 4th job skill a Cygnus gets that is not nerfed. Earned at level 110 by defeating a nerfed version of a boss (Manon, Griffey, Leviathan, or Pianus) in Ereb Training grounds room #4. Prerequisite: Knuckle Booster Level 20 Max Level: 20

14. Cygnus Mounts
As most of you may know, Cygnus Knights get riding mounts as well. They receive a mount at level 50, 100, and 120. I will explain how to get each of them here.
Level 50 Mount -Titiana
Titiana is the first mount available at level 50. In order to get this mount, you don't pay all the mesos at once. You pay in small increments adding up to 10M. This mount is also unlike any other; you hatch it from an egg. To hatch the egg, you just simply need to train. Once it is hatched, you go back to Ereve to get Titiana. Titiana has the same stats as the level 70 Watch Hog (150% Speed, 120% Jump).
Level 100 Mount - Titio
Titio is the second mount available to the Cygnus Knights at level 100. He costs 27M in order to obtain it. Along with the 27M, you also must get 90 of several items from Leafre. I haven't done research on which ones, but I have heard they are things like Dragon Turtle Shells. Titio has the same stats as the level 120 Silver Mane (170% Speed, 120% Jump).
Level 120 Mount - Divine Bird
Divine Bird is the third, and last, mount available to the Cygnus Knights at level 120. Once you reach level 120, you will be able to receive Divine Bird for free. It has the same stats as the level 200 Red Draco (180% Speed, 120% Jump).

I still do not see the point in maxing CSP, I have honestly rarely used it since I advanced to 3rd job. Sharks is used more and the only reason for me to sue CSP right now is to rush the mobs together. Booster MAXed in 2nd job allows for more 3rd job points to be actually put into 3rd job skills before you get windbooster, seeing as max booster is required for it.
I knew things would change for the gMS training places but the booster change still seems quite stupid in my opinion.
Lightning first for truckers is useless, because by your build you should be at MP3, which also has lightning weak mobs, in your low 5x anyway.
@ above: There isn't many SPs needed for 3rd job in the first place because shockwave and (arguably because shockwave sucks balls) transform are both useless. Maxing booster in 3rd job is the best idea imo, because i couldn't imagine giving up any of the 2nd job skills.

I only used Truckers as an example; MP3 is another one where you should be training. Those two places are why that build appeals to me most. On my Bucc, though, I was at Truckers from about 48 or so up until 70, then moved onto MP3. I was there for quite sometime, and it never felt slow to me.

Yeah, i'm doing the lightning build myself as well. I ohko'd truckers with a full charge of CSB as a brawler anyway, so that + dexless + better equips + 6 AP per level will let me annihilate them.
You should really update this guide with the official names from the teaser website. Nineheart->Neinheart, Ereb->Ereve, Striker->Thunder Breaker, and all the new job names. If you need more ideas on 3rd job builds, you can check out my general guide to cygnus knights on Basil.

I'm sorry I haven't had time to finish it yet? I'll get around to it within the next week. >.< I know all the name changes. I know 3rd job builds so please don't direct me to lolbasil.

I use it often as hell, just to travel to the monsters faster, and save some pots.
I will continue to believe that maxing SP is better.
Also: idk what happened to your build, but I have 19 mastery and maxed everything else, but 12 booster.
Is there 1 SP missing somewhere in your build (???)

No, there's 9 skill points too few to max everything in second job.
There's a range difference between 11 and 20 Corkscrew, by the way. Your Third Job skill points shouldn't even all be used for Third Job skills. You'll have plenty of points left over since Transform and Shockwave are left untouched. Either way, you'll be finishing up the skill you left in Second Job with those points, so you should obviously leave Booster at 11/12 since its performance doesn't improve with more points, unlike Corkscrew Punch.
And that lolbasil guide is pretty bad. Clearly has no understanding for how the jobs are supposed to perform.
Doxinator Wrote:Okay. Added a 3rd job skill point allocation table. Thanks to TehMatt for letting me use his build idea, which will no doubt work greatly.
I'll most likely add training spots later, and along with how to get each Cygnus Mount, etc.
You should probably figure out where you put those extra points. I wasn't able to decide what was best, but none of them will really affect much.

You might as well max Energy Drain and Speed Infusion, if only 4teh lulz. Then you have 10 points leftover to stick into Transform. Free 10 Strength, right? The last 2 points would have to go into Shockwave or Lightning Sprite, neither of which matter.
Quick question, if it hasn't been asked or answered yet, what's the difference in 'speed change' from Speed Infusion level 11 vs Speed Infusion level 20, if any? Or is it the same speed throughout lv 1-20? Because I always knew there were 'levels' of speed, from slower, or slowest, to Fast or Fastest.

11~20 is the same for wind booster. It is -1 speed at level 1~10 and -2 speed at 11~20.

I'll stick in a few different builds for the last points; I did put in a summary though at the end of the 'reasons for this build', and suggested to max out energy drain and such.
Is Shockwave really that bad? Dragon Strike owns it, but Shark Wave doesn't seem to hit nearly as hard. If you leave CSB at 11 in 2nd job and leave SI at 11 in 3rd job, you could max Transform and Shockwave and not be at much of a disadvantage.

Shock wave requires transformation. Shark Wave does not. Shockwave is slower than hell. Shark wave is faster; you can get (I believe I remember) close to 3 shark waves in the time it takes to cast 1 shock wave. Transform has a cool down time, so you cannot use shock wave, but you can use shark wave at any time.
