Homosexuality
#1
I just wanna hear people's views on it..

Like, my brother feels that being g'ay is a choice, and every single g'ay can be straight if they want to, but the way they've been brought up, and the people they are around, means that they want to be g'ay.

I really don't understand how he can think that way. If I came out, then I could blame him, no? But, of course I don't particually want to be g'ay, why would I want to be something millions (billions?) of people find wrong, and people are even killed for it. Why would I want to be the butt (whoops) of millions of jokes worldwide. Why would I never want to have a proper biological family with my partner? If I could, I would be straight, but I can't. I just don't find women sexually attractive.

Which brings me onto another point. When a hot girl walks past, I can say 'phwor shes hot', but according to a few friends of mine, I can't. Because I'm g'ay. Why? I can still tell if a girl/woman is attractive or not. Like one of my friends, he mentions hot guys to me all the time, but I know he's 100% straight. It's the same principal.

And, marriage. I don't see why g'ays can't get married. Why can't two people who love eachother dearly get married just because they're of the same sex? Yes, the tradition is that only a man and a woman gets married, but back when black people were hated, it was a tradition to be nasty to them. IMO, that's nearly the same thing. Times change, get used to it.

I don't mind it at all. I don't believe people can help what they're attracted to. Everyone has different tastes. Sometimes it's even the same gender. Whatever makes you happy.

Plus, a world without lesbians would make me very sad.

I can see how you see that way, you're flamboyantly and overly homosexual. It seems that by how much you flaunt your homosexuality you want people know you're different, that you're unique. Most homosexuals I've talked to (or had the pain of hearing yelling about inequality) have been like this, although I'll admit the majority are not attention-seekers. If you're flaunting it, it seems like you're proud. I don't go around yelling "I'M STRAIGHT!" have vulgar parades and ask people their opinion on being heterosexual. The fact that homosexuals as a whole are trying to be different and because they emphasize their differences everyone treats them different. As for all of your questions: You don't have a sense of duty. It is your biological duty as a male of the human species to propagate. It is your duty to the species, it is your goal as an animal. You have failed as a homo sapien sapien. Sorry, but it is the pragmatic truth.

Why do you even mention they're good looking? They have eyes you know... And if they're straight (and not with their wife/girlfriend) I'm betting they have been checking her out already.

It is the same thing to whip a slave as to say you can't get married? Marrying a person is a choice (so is being a homosexual). Being a slave wasn't/isn't. State sponsored persecution should be outlawed, but I think it should be the individual religious institutions choice if they want to wed homosexual couples or not. If none of them want to (I'm sure many don't mind) then they can go to the court house and get a legal 'marriage'. Personally I think it is a disgusting and epicurean lifestyle. But then again I say the same for heterosexual sluts too..

This is the 21st century, and people STILL deny science? Being gay has proven links to biological factors.

The thing is, the internet =/= real life. In real life, I'm as straight as can be. If you've never met me before and knew jack sh'it about me, you'd think I was straight. Not every single g'ay is the camp stereotype. That's like saying that every black person is loud and obnoxious. It's just not true. You're saying I've failed as a human being? wtp. You're failing as being human by disrespecting people for who the f'uck they are. I don't see the difference between being homophobic and black. Both can't be helped and both are normal. Both need the same respect as eachother.

My point is that the white people who hated black people hated them by choice, and their views changed. So why can't peoples views change about g'ay marriage? You may say that marriage is traditionally a man and a woman, but lets look at an old view. Witches (ignore the fact some people still believe in them). Back in the old times, women were regularly burned, killed, etc for being accused to witches, but over time that tradition faded. So why can't the traditional views on g'ay marriage fade?

Everything has biological factors, your brain is nothing but a chemical processing machine with billions of different neurons and synapses. Chemicals of course will have an effect on anything it does. But if you're balanced, I'm confident that everyone could control their thoughts. Furthermore, I read scientific journals every time I visit the library. I have yet to see a paper that had any conclusive proof it is uncontrollable. Link porfa.

Agree entirely, especially since I've never met you. But some kids at school do fit the stereotype and annoy the pomegranate out of me.

So we both agree, we all fail at being human beings.

They will and have already. It is called creeping liberalism and it is inevitable.

That "gay is a choice" logic always makes me chuckle. Yeah, people -chose- to be chained to the back of a car, get dragged around the city and then set on fire.

So, if you wanted to, you could just turn gay?

Go on, turn gay. Oh wait, you can't change what cannot.

Male pornstars. They'll have intercourse with anything, and yet many will still maintain that they are (or were) straight.

Why do people maintain their believes if it gets them persecuted? You can't say that people don't hang onto irrational beliefs or persist with illogical choices. Case in point: me for posting in this thread when I knew darn well I'm apparently a fascist.

This. I honestly find this just as dumb as saying someone "chose" to be black, killed by the KKK and other hate crimes I could mention.

Sarcasm.Start

Yeah, you choose to be gay. Because your brain has a configuration panel, am I right?

This doesn't mean they're gay. You can have sex with a guy, you're not necessarily gay. To be gay is to be attracted to men, you don't have to be attracted to someone to have sex with them.

That's completely different. They're doing it for money, with viagra. They don't find everything they have sex with sexually attractive. Yes, I do know of male porn stars who claim to be straight but star in gay porn, but that doesn't mean that they want to do it, they're doing it for money.

I don't see how you can compare porn stars and your average joe, on the basis they have sex with anyone and everyone.

Biological things are pre-determined and can not be changed naturally. By your logic, I can change my hair colour at will. Wait, new theory, Michael Jackson woke up one morning and decided "I think I might be white today".

If you can find me a homosexual that says that they can quite easily "choose" to become 100% straight, but merely prefer to remain homosexual, then I will agree with your statement. But I know it will never happen...

You can't say being a homosexual is a choice unless you are one, and are only one by choice.

I personally have no problem with y'all. I don't really like the "you can't help who you're attracted to" argument, but only because it's easy to try to defend pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality, etc by the same logic (not in the slightest saying homosexuality is comparable though, I just have actually heard pedophiles try to defend what they do by saying that 11 year olds are who they are attracted to).

I've had gay guys hit on me both jokingly and seriously, didn't bother me, and had a few gay friends. Had one girlfriend "discover" that she was a lesbian mid-way into our relationship, which was kindof...Hothead

@ Style, chill a bit, it's his opinion, which (right or wrong) he is welcome to. I understand it may be offensive, but try not to let yourself become angry and get in trouble here over something like this.

Yeah, but at the same time there's a difference between being attracted to the same sex and being attracted to a certain age/physical state of a person.

I don't think it's possible to be born with a fetish for having sex with dead bodies. Same goes for beastiality and pedophilia.

I know too many people who, when they discovered they are attracted to the same gender (or to a specific person of the same gender), did not even know there was a word for it. They were sure they were simply insane. Thought they were the only one in the world like that. Several wanted to kill themselves for being so twisted. They tried to change themselves, and failed.
Now, it's possible that they had in fact heard of same-gender sexual relations somewhere, and their subconscious wish to be different picked up on that, and "chose" homosexuality without the knowledge or consent of the conscious mind. But I think that's stretching the meaning of "choice" a little too far.

At any rate, homosexuality and homosexual behavior have been observed among animals, that make no "choices". Yes, it's a type of handicap, from the evolutionary perspective, and yet it persists.

I believe being homosexual is like being left-handed. An inborn trait which may make certain aspects of life a little harder. Not too long ago, left-handed children were believed to be demonically posessed or otherwise "wrong", and had their left hands bound up so they would be forced to use the right. Now, nobody cares. Hopefully, soon, a person's sexual orientation would be viewed the same way.

Finally, about marriage, I think any two adults who want to get state recognition of their partnership, should be able to do so. I also don't think any religious organization should be forced to do anything against the tenets of that religion. As far as the State is concerned, getting married in a church or in city hall is exactly the same. The status on the legal files should be the same.

Well I believe that it simply isn't natural to be gay. It's okay to be attracted to people of the same sex per se, but I just think homosexuals misinterpret that kinship as being one of love interest which is incorrect. All animal species were designed to reproduce. Reproduction is the sole purpose of life for all organisms. If one does not contribute to propagating then they are going against the laws of nature.

Personally I am homophobic. I don't mean to insult anyone or their choice/belief but these are my views and they aren't ill intended. Being raised as a Catholic has greatly effected my views and it has altered the way I see the world to some extent.

Hmm...
I personally hold that a person should believe something because they think it is right, not because it's what they were taught - some thinking and personal reflection is required here.

I agree that it goes against the instinct to reproduce, which is a survival tactic for any organism, but it is naturally occuring (if not the norm). As for what they may or may not interpret, you cannot make that claim unless you are yourself a homosexual. You can theorize all you want, and may see general trends, but you can't truly understand what you are not, not different than any man could truly claim why women think or behave like they do when pregnant, menopausing, etc. No more than someone who has never touched a drug can truly comprehend what that drug does to their mind. And, that's one reason why I hate religion. Don't forget in the bible it open disgraces women, and most probably black people, and how could you forget the giant fucking devil rising out of the water which, by the way, never happened?

The Bible's real message is to hate and persecute Mermen/ladies.
