GMS leaving asian content aside?

...Isaac just convinced me that World Tours are completely useless. But hey, more easy quests for the badge right?

I know those things exist and I still hate World Tour. Showa's the worst of everything we have. Looks horrible + bosses are fucking retarded. 18k+ hits and pretty much impossible for anyone but ranged classes to kill. Oh look, a boss that gives enough exp for people to train on. Yay KS drama. I'd rather have quality content than gimmicks.

Singapore and Zipangu are some of the few redeeming things to World Tour since they're not horribly unbalanced like most areas. There's still a lot of crap associated with the areas, though. Latanica does too much damage for such a wimp boss. Nerf to HH level or something. Why are half the monsters black blobs? Why are there tons of random pots, a lot of which do the same thing as existing pots, in both areas? Why is there a boss that does 8k damage wandering around a popular training spot? Thanks, JMS.

I don't mind keeping the World Tours we have, but I'd prefer any new World Tour content be limited to the version they came from. We're good with Masteria. Please no Formosa, no Kaede Castle, no Neo Tokyo, etc.

I was just thinking: Shanghai, Xiemending/Night Market, and Floating Market are basically set to go: image files ( backgrounds, objects, etc) monsters, and I think some NPCs are all in the data: all we need is the maps and it is ready to go. At some point, it all will be used: chances are, at some point or another we will get them. If that is in 2 years or a few months is the question.

I care.

bottomless pit much ?

Masterias items are good enough,

All the other ones are so bad they make Omega Sector look like top tier content. Seriously, there's nothing to explore in Floating Market. You'll get there, in 5 minutes you'll have reached every map, in 20 you'll have done every quest, and then you will NEVER set foot there again because all the maps are horrible and the monsters are weak as hell and there's no reason to see it. Same for Shanghai. You can say you want to "explore" it but when a level 10 archer can reach every map in the town without risks it should be a little red flag that it's not a very worthwhile area.

Also, I don't think there are even good monsters for low levels that are worth mentioning. The EXP there isn't good at all, even for level 10s. Tongue

Shanghai and Floating Market are quite popular for low levels in MSEA, especially the former.

When KoC came out, Shanghai was quite populated.

I don't care for most world tour stuff, some of the sea and jms stuff looks intresting, but masteria is far better than all of them.

I suppose your utopian world tour area is one that is staggered with various levels of difficulty - such that almost all levels can benefit? If that's the case, I have to agree that SH and FM are totally worthless areas for the higher, if not mid-range, levels. However, it is totally foolish to overlook Nexon's efforts in refining the world tour areas, evident in the newly created Singapore and Malaysian maps that not only have excellent design for training purposes, but also staggering in terms of content and variation.

I am utterly disappointed with the general view towards these world tour areas. It may be true that they do not contribute to training, but they are extremely essential in injecting variety and additional flavour to the monotony of the game itself. Though some of the content may be monotonous on their own accord, there ARE sections that provide much fun to the experience, the Taiwan 101 is one such area.

I suppose the expectations towards a world tour area varies between GMS and MSEA. It's funny to completely devalue the existence of these maps when they are made on popular demand in the first place.

And people used to be soooo excited when other versions released WT maps. But now that they find out that there are no good training maps in them, people disregard them.

Yeah, because all everyone's been talking about is how we don't like WT because of the lack of training maps. Derp. It's not like Isaac had a completely valid point saying that an area was bad because the monsters were very weak, the quests were short and there was not much exploration.

I even said earlier was I don't like the mentality of world tour locations. In their goal to be more challenging and interesting than thecontent already in the game, they make the mobs overpowered. The high leveled areas have monsters that do waaay too much damage.

And when all is said and done, you know what an area is good for? Training. I had fun doing the quests and exploring all of Magatia, but in the end I spent more time there training my bandit. Training and bossing are the biggest parts of this game, so if niether in an area is good, then nobody will go there and there's no point in the area. If we got Shanghai and all that came of it would be 20 minutes of quests for me, I would be pissed.

I care about getting quests and exploring new areas, but that's not lasting content. Lasting content is trainable mobs and fun bosses.

Kabanaw Wrote:I don't like world tour because the monsters often seem odd to me. Not just their designs, but a lot of the time their animations and such, mostly in signapore and Masteria (I'm counting masteria because it's original content.) Truckers have a long death animation and it has a very fast magic attack. The same with MP3 monsters. Wind Raiders have a long, very flashy death. In KMS, they just try to make things simple looking and it works well, while the other versions try to top it by making things look "flashy and cool."

They also have a long flashy "hit" animation, thus making them attack way less. Glitter

It always better to have it, than not. Every area can be boring for some people. This a reason to have more towns. I personally hate Ludibrium Stunned

Siam looks awesome, i don't know anything about quests so who knows maybe they are interesting too. Boss there is funny too, it has very nice skill animations and ... I love monkeys Big Grin

Also WT area are good because they are accessible from almost all towns. It's helpful for fast meeting

I am still waiting for Big World Tour Patch which will add Shanghai, Formosa and Floating Market.

I agree. Look, without the present suitable popular areas, WT was once coveted by many about their design and training spots.
Does anyone remember how GMS was whining about NOT having himes or Showa or shanghai?
I do. Ever since masteria and the godly items came out, people came to think "oh masteria is better"

Yes I agree too, Masteria is a truely well designed area. However, there are many things that masteria cant ever provide. Experiences. Every WT has its own unique experience, which is what that kept me playing this game.
If maplers were to disregard WT areas just because masteria and its godly content. Then our expectations differ, Sorry.

And what experience do these areas provide? Shanghai has very low leveled content; If they released a patch with just that, then nearly nobody would be happy.

People were excited to get Orbis as well, were they not? Now who really cares about it? As new areas come out, older ones are forgot about and replaced with better ones. Zombies were replaced with STDs. STDs with truckers. FoG was replaced with MP3. The only difference here is we never got the content before it was outdated.

What's up with all the hate for World Tour anyways? I think that it adds variety, and is a nice reprieve from all the hustle and bustle of all the "popular" areas. And most importantly, if you don't like it, then don't go there. Seriously. All this "I don't want WT because I don't like it" is a little selfish, in my opinion. Other people do want it, and it's not right to try and take that away because you don't like it. There's more to Maple than godly gear and fast leveling.
God, I sound like some "old-timer" from Beta or something. Stunned

Exactly. You might be "high level" but other players/new commers are not. Some people would like to see new areas and new quests. Actually, with every patch they release, nearly nobody is happy..

The main issue people are having, between PQs/rewards, WT areas, medals, and several other new additions, high levels will never be able to benefit from them directly. There is no retroactive way to get PQ rewards on a 4th job character that missed said PQ, or in the case of Ludibrium PQ, missed the addition of the glasses. High leveled content is open to everyone, because everyone can eventually get to a high level on their character. Low level content is not, because Nexon refuses to add a way to access it later on. We could really use an event where PQs are open to all levels through an event NPC in order to allow high levels a chance at the reward and PQ completion for the medal. Events with monster slaying PQs where monsters are set to be 5 levels higher than you can help for the monster slaying medal. Basically, give a nod to high level players that all the new things that low levels can enjoy aren't a big "screw you" to everyone else.

I'm gonna go to the opposite direction of what people think about World Tour Areas. Because World Tour Areas have some nice features. They have nice training areas like Truckers, Selkies and Slimies, and Dreamy Ghosts (Those are called Hime). They have certain Quests that give out nice rewards. And Showa Town itself sells Ciders, which makes Rage (even if upgraded), Dragon Blood, and the bloody expensive Warrior Elixir obsolete with 20 Weapon Attack boost despite the Accuracy Cost (which shouldn't be much of a problem) and taking away 1 use Inventory slot (Stocking up on Ciders shouldn't be a problem if you have more slots, especially if maxed out).

And no, Showa Town is the only area NOT part of Masteria that sells Ciders, and is much easier to access if you're in Ossyria, Singapore (different type of World Tour), and other areas that have World Tour Access.

So yeah, I would prefer World Tour areas over Masteria. Seriously, I dislike Masteria. >_>

That is why people like you never get contented.
And seriously speaking, you have never seen a crowded Shanghai? Lol.
Then you really do not know MSEA.

Wrong, there are many people like us who just take maple as a past time so we do not have high levelled characters to train in like TT. Does that make us not happy?
