[1.2.235] Even closer... (Picture heavy)
Sorry to divert the topic abit, but this is somewhat related.

Well, many of you may know (but probably don't care) that I have been working on a project to truely demonstrate the true potential of this kick-ass class. I managed to get up to the second job into an Excel spread sheet that can show how well the Aran race does.
This, er, "calculator" shows how well the attacks can combo together, but is not entirely accurate since I have not learned entirely how long the attacks take (for this I would like to ask someone to divulge).

To this end, here is the calculator. Use it wisely...Aran Calculator V0.1

Constructive critisizm would be welcome, since I still need to tidy it up.

P.S. The combo check box adds together all of the skills that can combo together, and the Critical Count is how many times the critical buff stacks.

Zpyke Wrote:Unfortunately, this will be better for some classes. Namely, those with dark sight. I think I'll get mad after seeing every level 20 or so thief type class have the medal that gives 400 hp.

And yay for the conspicuous "4th job advancement or above?" :f6:

The primary level limitation on the 400 hp medal is due to having to complete the Magatia quests to be allowed in some of the maps, which iirc are about level 60-70.

I wonder if Aran is gonna have HP problems now.

Well , Isaac had 2k HP @ level 45, that's lower then normal warrior , so i guess they will have HP problems . Don't forget they don't have the Max HP increase skill.

Isaac finally exploded D:

Rest in peace.

EDIT: OK, for some reason, I didn't see the character... Like when a shadower uses boomerang step! Damn, that was weird... Just to throw some sense into my post, you know.

I didn't notice it either. He blends in with the background. :f6:

Lol yea i was like 'wtp is he talking about'

It's a part of the 2nd attack if i'm not mistaken , it sort of jump-attacks the monster. So it is not where it is supposed to be.

Well, you do know the drain % was reduced to 4. So it makes me curious as to if it'll make them more expensive characters. Goggleemoticon

That's actually the 3rd attack. He jumps so far away from the IGN That you kinda stare at the screenshot and go "well, where the hell is the character?"
It gets even weirder when you get hit while you're at that point, because not only do you recoil, but your name recoils, so it'll just suddenly jump in one direction leaving you going "Wha???"

I'm confused because in the videos the monster jumps around 2-3 characters (for lack of a better unit of measurement) high

Well, I wonder if the time in milliseconds of casting time for each attack is in the data like WoW. If so, maybe Fiel or Isaac can find it for you. Don't forget booster and SI, as it will change speed.

Also, if the Aran is solo, or has no priest/cure-alls, then getting sealed might prevent more than just his normal attack. Also, when training, there's things like climbing, etc, to take into consideration that would reset the combo. All dps and damage hangs around the combo system. Another question is if dispel takes the count back to 0.

I also don't need a calculator to tell you that flying monsters/bosses like fly eye and geist will be like the bane of this class. Excellent

Good to know.

according to that when you use that skill to throw up the monsters, they will keep jumping if you attack them fast enough in the air?:f6:

I assume it's a similar mechanic to Street Fighter, or hell, even Devil May Cry. You can bounce the enemies in the air while you attack them if you time it right, but you'll have to start all over again with it if they hit the ground.

This class is becoming more and more interesting, and thus making it more difficult to make this dam project possible. What I am wondering what I should do is either make the polearm toss an attack, or just a "buff" to see what you can do while the monster is in the air. *sigh* At least this won't come to GMS or MSEA any time soon so I can have time to ponder this. Any sudjestions?

Also, do I even need to add in whirl wind, or do you have the picture of that particular skill?

I don't see why counting it as a tickable "buff" wouldn't work. Just let users have the option to tick on or off a "monsters bounced," or something. I say bounced, because when I thought of air, I thought of monsters like geist balrog. Those are already in the air, but not hit by the attack that causes the extra damage.

Aye, having it has a tickable buff was my intention, and there would really be no point in adding it as an attack, would there? Unless I could have it as an attack, and over it I could have the little box that introduces the fact that they are a little too high for comfort.
Well, I have a new update for the calculator, at any rate. I have added most of the rest of 3rd job, which includes; Smart KB, phantom peril, and (my favourite) Snow Charge. You will probably wonder why I have put a collum of grey in the middle of the two sections, but you would find out if you click one of the check boxes. If one of the monsters is weak (or strong) to ice, it will immediately register so. Also, you can make the monster weak to ice "temporarily" by clicking the check box accordingly (who knows, maybe a F/P arch mage is helping you train). Aran Calculator V0.3

Glitches fixed: HKO range and Average HKO of all combo skills modified.

Some glitches that will need to be seen to: Polearm rush's Chance of 1HKO is a bit off.

Things I am hoping to introduce into my next version: Overswing; MW.

The sad part is, that even though they can't use ice charge at most bosses, they'll still be overpowered. Unlike Pali's, who take a hit to dps because they can't use their charges. Tongue

Then again, remember when they said a growth of one? Maybe that means 4 AP a level.

God, I need to make a thread about this... But I don't think putting this in a warrior thread is good... Too bad I can't just make a thread in the extractions. ^_^"
