gpq secret room
#1
I've looked everywhere but couldn't find any info so I guess it hasn't been discussed yet.

Does anybody know what the secret room at the end of gpq is for?

It's in the map just before ergoth, here:
 Spoiler
I forgot to make sc from the actual room sorry. I got this pic from a random ergothmovie from youtube.

When you go in, you come out on top of the map with ergoth. There you can wack some kind of pulley which moves a luster up and down. While searching another forum I found someone claim it makes the luster fall onto ergoths head and deal damage, but I wacked it for more than 50 times at least and it didn't do anything.
You can't leave the place by jumping down and there's no teleport. You have to die to get out.

So what does it do? Nothing? Can only the level 30- make it drop maybe? There's a winged monkey on the chandeleer does he has something to do with it? (You can't damage it or talk to it, allready tried that.)

I've been up there countless times on my GPQ noobs since the quest was released in GMS, and I've never used it/seen it used/heard of it being used for anything OTHER than a waiting area for non-bossing people. It helps to know when Ergoth is dead for buffs like Haste to get around the bonus map, but other than that I have no idea.

Would be cool if the lever thing is implemented sometime. The only reason I doubt it works is that it would have been common knowledge by now.

It's used to prevent the Gargoyle from summoning it's minions, which annoys ranged people a lot while fighting Ergoth since they can't attack with those crawling around.

Ah well, these days with 4th job Ergoth is pretty simple anyway, melee classes can pwn it in 1 minute...

My friend used to say "keep doing whatever you're doing, it helps".
And I'm not entirely sure but I think it stops the Gargoyles/Wizards from spawning.

I'm pretty sure it's used to prevent Ergoth from healing as much. If you watch him, he pretty much heals constantly, but if the pulley is whacked, not so much.
