How was your first day of Maple Anniversary?

I decided to make this to see how everyone's first day of the "spectacular" 4th Anniversary went.

I certainly hope it was better than mine.

Overall, today has been pretty shitty. Outside of Maplestory, there were just a lot of problems and fighting at home, so it wasn't a good day. So I decide to get on MS to relax and hopefully make the day better.

Alright, free "24 hour" 2x EXP and Drop coupons, cool. I do the new quests, while grinding some and collecting the leaves like a madman. I see that you have to get the level 35 or 43 Maple weapon to upgrade to 64, not too happy, but alright, fair enough.

..Yeah. Is it just me, or is the droprate for Maple Weapons maddeningly low this year? It's frustrating. I spend 4 hours at the Ant Tunnel Mini-Dungeon, not one Maple weapon. I sign off for about 30 minutes to let my girlfriend get on while I go eat something. She finds a Maple Bow and lets me back on to check something.

I notice not even leaves are dropping as much anymore. I check my cards, oh, wait, what cards? They're gone. Both of them. No reason or explanation why. They just disappeared. Can't level anymore like I planned.

Now for the big highlight of it all... I bought another 2x Drop card with the remaining of my NX and go back to the mini-dungeon. Takes 2 hours, but I finally find a level 35 Maple Knuckle (since I'm not paying fucking 25 million mesos just for it, goddamn merchanters). I feel relieved. So much better. I head back to town, I check and see I have 4000 Maple Leaves, so I'm good. Trade it.. in.. it's below average. 58 ATT level 64 Maple Knuckle. It's not even worth holding on to. But I figured, maybe I could save it with my spare 10%. Doesn't work. Well, I could at least make it high enough to hold me over until I get a better one, and still have it be at least 1 or 2 ATT better than my current Fury Claw, right? So I turn in most of my remaining leaves (1500) for the 40% scroll. The Knuckle immediately explodes as soon as I click.

And this doesn't include being KSed out of Bubblings constantly, no other drops from my remaining 2x Drop, even from bosses, and hurting my back somehow earlier (so it hurts like a peach.)

ANYWAYS. I'm done ranting. Otherwise, my girlfriend got lucky and we both at least got the "Under the Maple Tree" chairs. How was everyone else's first anniversary day?

I gots me to 93 from 91 in just 3~4 hours @-a and yea, the drop rate of the weapons seems horribly low, even an hour of 2x drop at slimes didnt get me anything. I remember last event that an hour there on 1x drop would get you at least 2~4 weapons, which is still a lil high but wasnt bad for anyone. The need to notice that they have a LOT of new players and such, and in order to be able to get close to satisfying most of them, they needa have the drop boosted.

I have been mucking around for a bit today.
But I haven't found anything yet either...
Last year during 1 level I would find at least 5 Maple weapons...

For those of you who don't know why it sucked, it was because I spent about 15k nx getting my chair, while now people can get it for free. EVERY NOOB AND THEIR MOTHERS CAN GET IT!

My day sucked hard because Nexon got my hopes up, and promised balance in this patch. There was no balance, but instead, glitches that will only balance out the rankings when legit players get falsely banned. BStep delay was not reduced, so this patch sux until they call for an emergency patch.

I keep crashing when I open my Monster Book and when I go to the first map with monsters in the upper-right part of Perion. And I've tried re-installing Maple. So yeah.

EDIT: Nvm, it's my problem. I'll now try re-installing.

Happy that my Pirate form is much much better, but in a small fit of rage that Transform is so borked up it's ludicrious. How could they allow there to be a No Delay effect? On the other hand, Maple Leaves are insanely easy to get, and I scolled a 19 DEX leaf, which will make me happy for the rest of the week. Also, I gained ~5% just by turning in Maple Leaves for Syrup and the face accessory.

Overall I'm pretty happy, but not ecstatic.

I'm angry about the drop rate of maple equips. I know that they're trying balance availability but considering you can only get them for one month a year, they should be a little more common.

Even more insultingly, they forgot to put in shields last year and now we have to fight with EVERY. OTHER. PLAYER. at fucking BUBBLINGS to try and get a regular maple shield which may end up transforming into a dud, resulting in another 20 hours of ks wars at the bubblings to try and get a better one.

I want my fucking maple magician shield like you promised me last year >:OOO

I loved yesterday lul. Got a normal Maple Magician Shield relatively quickly thanks to the 2x Drop card (mind I've always had my Maple Shield for a long time before this patch, being lukless and all), and managed to get the Maple Chair in 3 tries.

Now to get that Umbrella + leveling my side characters in the cake mini-dunegon. It's godly there for 1st jobbers.

Great day for me I got about 10k Maple Leaves altogether while my brother trained the character from 124 -> 126, the reduced delay on Energy Blast and Dragon Strike is awesome as well xd. Not to mention I got my Lord Pirate card from the exchange

Took me five minutes. I was about to CC. Nearly had a heart attack. BEST MORNING EVER. Will post maple magician shield in a minute.

I had a pretty good 1st day of anniversary event....
I upgraded my maple helmet to the 3rd lvl for an improvement.
I got the maple cape (not sure that I'll be keeping it, but eh...you know).
I got a below avg maple shield in bubblings and immediately upgraded it to a maple mage shield with 2int & 32/52 def...so...below avg to above avg and it immediately replaced my 2int/2luk/6slot esther. I'm going to have to hold onto that esther for a while after the event in order for its price to go back up, but the new shield is nifty. I like that it still has 10 slots...this could turn into a VERY nice shield indeed.

I didn't pop a single maple weapon, but the shield makes it worth it.
I got my chair and did the candle thing....

I also got to watch another episode of Band of Brothers...so...yeah...awesome!

All in all....pretty good evening of Mapling....

I had kept a maple shield as well... and stockpiled leaves from last year's event... it turned out below avg = = But it's still a lot better than my esther shield...

Pretty good. Did the Speed Quiz a bunch of times, usually scoring in the 20s. I actually grinded a good 25m exp before logging off and having my cards expire, and I levelled in the first time in a few weeks.

Didn't do too much involving the anniversary yet. I blew 5500 Maple leaves obtaining and breaking a level 40 Maple Earring, but they're so easy to get, it doesn't matter.

Umm, I logged on to find my 2x cards in Bera, on my 'd up cleric. Then I went around and did that goldem maple leaf thing, only to get 100 leaves every time. after that I killed bubbling in that tree for a maple sheild (suprisingly no one else was there) and after about an hour of that with no drops, I went to cake town and got 2 slices of cake. After that I had about 12 snow silks, so I got my maple cape, then I logged

Hopefully today I can grind at golems for a maple gun and get enough leaves to upgrade it

Pretty crappy, to be honest.

First, I log in right when the patch ends, kill Pap, Emergancy SC in 2nd form.

I log back, All my 15k+ Rep + 2x EXP + 2x Drop got deleted. The exp adjustment thingie got me to 85% So I decided to train, then I died and I just went to sleep.

Atleast I sold my 1.2k Leaves for 7k each, about 8.4m profit. They're less than 3k each now.

Well, we did know about this event from other versions, so it was most likely that this would happen. (Also why I never tried in those events even though I really wanted the chair).


My day was kind of meh. I bought a King Slime card, lvled upon loggin for the first time in 2.5 months along with some alts that I managed to get a lvl or two on, got my maple chair, and got all the quests out of the way. The negative to this is that my 2x stuff was on unused Bera characters, I found a Stumpy card on an alt on his first kill after killing it dozens of times on my main with no results, and the dang notes kept giving me Snow Strings or whatever well after finishing the quest chains.



EDIT: As for those who think this year's Maple weapons are unfair in their difficulty to obtain. Really we were WAAAAAY spoiled last year. Other versions only got the lvl 64 versions through the event we are having right now, as a trade in and we had an infinitely spawning boss dropping them in groups of 4+ per kill. In addition to that, Statless people are way too overpowered as it is, why not make it something special rather than the norm?
