Pokemon isnt so lame now huh?

Shoddy is a computer program that functions like WiFi, except that you don't need the actual game for it. It also allows you to pick what moves, IVs, EVs, natures, etc w/o having to spend hours upon hours on the actual game to get the right combination. It's quite fun, even if you don't see the batte animations.

I must object, Shoddy has the most pineappleing hidious GUI I have ever encountered since my olden days of playing mother-pineappleing NetBattle. NB is, and will always > Shoddy. FFS. Ever since 4th gen came out, I enjoy the new physical [insert element here] + special [insert element here] metagame, but I still prefer NetBattle.

Hell, I remember when I pineappleing used a gardevoir to sweep SkarmBliss. MeanLook+CM+Psychic+Rest w/ Leftovers was the shyt.

Sorry, but seeing people praise Shoddy like it was fucking Jesus, and thinking of NB like it was a cockroach makes me want to kick a plum!

See, I've never heard of NB before so Shoddy was my only choice.... I do agree that Shoddy's GUI is pretty crappy, but it beats trying to get the right team for WiFi.

I've never touched OU since the Pokemon there are all the same... Everyone seems to have a Blissey, Skarmory, and a TTar... UU is where the game is at. So much variety, and unpredictability.

You're not absolutely required to be a tourneyf'ag and grind 400 hours to make a perfect team. The last game I ever played was Gold before I picked up Platinum earlier this month. I've already logged in over 70 hours, which is a lot for me.

It's just nice to see a huge update to an old favorite.

I dunno, I'd play the new Pokemon games with friends but I don't want to listen to crap like that. I want to remember Pokemon as a simple, fun game targeted at children, and not care about strategy or stat whoring.

This, except I was never against the new games. I thought every new version that came out was better than the last. The only thing that forced me to stop was the games moving to the DS. I'll never buy one of those stupid things, so I'm waiting for the DS to get a good emu and play D/P that way.

I loved R/B/Y when they were the newest version, but now I can't stand playing them. They're terrible.

My opinion? The first game was good, but had lots of issues. Psichic being overpowered and all that dual type nonsense on most attacks.

Gold and Silver were fantastic. They ironed most of the stuff, and added new Pokemons that fitted perfectly. They even added the older continent. And the UNOWNS, mating, etc.

From then on, the rest of the games seem... off. I mean, they are quite nice, but the newer pokemons are like machines, just candy to the eye for mecha loving people. If they somehow managed to recover the original design...

I lived for NetBattle and spent so much time battling on it. Then I went away from Pokemon for awhile. I came back, wanted to NB and found it was dead (oh the tears that were shed). So I was like, What the hell? Found Shoddy, tried it and RAGED LIKE YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE. I had it for a day and I deleted it.

Oh how I miss you, NetBattle.

See, that takes away the fun, in my opinion. That's why they call it 'Metagaming', meaning to play 'out-of-the-box' and to think differently in regards with the game's current mechanics.

Some examples:

-SSBM (Wave Dashing, SHFFL, L-cancelling, etc)
-Pokemon (Training Effort Values/Points, the 'metagame': Same Type Attack Boost [STAB dmg], SkarmBliss, etc)

You can't really diss something until you actually try it. I thought NB was quite geeky and nerdy, til I tried it. I got addicted to the competitiveness, and even took hours and hours building a team trying to counter other teams. Or a team that was well-rounded, etc.

Aspects of the Metagame:
-Physical Sweeper
-Special Sweeper
-Mixed/Pseudo Sweeper
-Tank (Physical+special walling, ex: SNORLAX with a +Def nature with Thick Fat nature, giving it a high resistance to fire and ice. With Snorlax's high mag def, makes it quite strong to almost any and all special attacks, unless the attacks were buffed.)
-Physical Wall
-Special Wall (not sure if they use this term anymore...)

Back when I played NB, I was in mother fucking Smogon battling against their moderators. I almost fucked up a moderator's entire team, but a mother fucking CELERY fucked up my patterns.

People that play pokemans are still lame in my eyes. =)

I personally loved seeing SkarmBliss everywhere, such predictable bastards. Jirachi + Salamance = RAPED. I also made a BL team to fight OU bastards, sh'it was fun.

My friend went out and bought a Gameboy Color...just to play Pokemon Blue.
I do not have any Nintendo systems besides the Wii, so I have no Pokemon games. But it ranks up there as one of my favorite games.
