A simple question. (Note: Not for the dumb!)

If the theory of the Big Bang were to be reversed in such a way that the hypothesis that a large explosion caused the universe to exist would be considered null and void, would the general scientific public raise and outcry and protest against the new idea or would they instead realize that an explosion with a force of a 1,000,000,000 Castle Bravos (a dry-fuel thermonuclear hydrogen bomb developed as a test subject with a force of 15 megatons of TNT that was nicknamed "Shrimp" (Castle Bravo was actually the name of the experiment, not the bomb) and dropped on Bikini Atoll) could not and would not create matter and then accept the theory and discard the old one or would there be a possible third conclusion to the inevitable question of which I am writing that may take a completely different path from the paths I have already established such as possible merging the two to form a unison theory which would then explain many of the secrets of the universe that have not already been discovered (in my opinion, these secrets would be things that go with the laws of physics and nature (which means it is not a theoretical happening but some thing that has been observed and is a valid truth) such as gravity) to form a grand theory in which all the thoughts of all the most prestigious scientists in the world would collaborate to form a hypothesis, nay, a truth accepted by all of man?

I am stating that what will happen when we find the real reason the universe was created. I know that there is a chance that the current theory is wrong, but it cannot be proven wrong until we discover the real reason or at least a better theory.

Personally I don't see the value in knowing how the universe was created. We can believe things, and we can spend billions trying to create more concrete evidence, but it doesn't really lead anywhere.

we would need to find another theory to explain the origin of the universe. i mean that is why we have theories, we research, try to prove them and discard them as we move along and collect knowledge. a theory is just an educated guess that has a high chance of being right.

I think I see what they mean by "wall of text." I tend to lose my place, even in books, when it's one big paragraph. More so when it's one long fragmented and run-on sentence.

Well, yeah, I personally believe that the big bang theory is just a substitute for having nothing. I mean, something to start with. An imaginary starting point to get the brain thinking of ideas is much more useful than imaginary numbers that just prove what you already know.

And yeah, scientists would finally dispel the big bang theory, and adopt the new one. And hell, let's face it. It's better than that horrible 7 day theory that everyone is convinced is true. You know the one I'm talking about.
