Anyone can post to craigslist claiming to be nexon though. And besides, wasn't there something similar to this before? I could've sworn one of the qualifications was that you needed to know korean. 0.o

I wouldn't know. Luckily I live nearby during summer times. Maybe I can have a look into this and finally set some things right. If I get hired (doubtful, but it'd be nice), I'll go on a crusader of hacker bans :O

I happen to meet all of those qualifications... which is rather odd when you think about it. Don't those seem too simple? And why would they post it on craigslist? That seems a bit odd to me. Wouldn't it be posted on their website instead?

MAJOR EDIT:

holy crap this is actually legitimate

From the nexon site:

You could have fooled me.

Ok everyone now you know what times to bot. Rolleyes

It really is about time they got more GM's, though I am doubtful it will make much of an impact.

All you do is sit on your rumpus and ban people as well as deal with other crap. Sounds about right. There isn't too much responsibility, I would think.

It's quite a shame that the position is from april->june. I dont get out of college until june 15th. I believe I'll call and ask with their hiring rep and inquire about any future available positions. I need a summer job after all :3

I'd take 9 dollars an hour any day... I've never been able to get a wage that high, and I've done some very hard work. I know it's because of where I live, but still. To me that wage is awesome. GMs don't even have a hard job... Hell, it'd be fun.

I'd so go for it if you were able to work from home... considering I live nowhere near the HQ. I would love to sit on my rump all day, actually doing the game some good, and still getting 9 dollars an hour. Goggleemoticon

I seriously don't think being a GM is what we all chalk it up to be.

I wonder why they're not hiring GMs for 2-6am, I see lots of hackers then >_>

Screw $9/hr. I'd abuse my GM powers for the sake of mass banning; unlike most GM's.

Anyone they hire would probably have to sign a non-disclosure agreement, meaning if you spilled any information about what goes on in there you could be sued. So on top of crappy pay, bad hours, and being generally hated by the public whenever you made one your [few] appearances, you couldn't even speak of the knowledge you gained. Whether it's about GM activities or patch updates or even what the company is like (well, this one could be changed if you filed a suit against them for treating you poorly.)

Either way, if you let something slip you'd get fried. Nexon hates when their surprises get ruined (like my five year old nephew) and would definitely lash out, which makes this job dangerous if you have even a tiny lack of self control.

And yeah, $9 is terrible compensation. Being a GM is less about banning people and more about watching people do wrong and doing nothing about it. You probably have to file a report for each account you ban, as well. It says on the site that you're not even allowed to take action without the permission of a supervisor.

5 full-time should do it for those hackers. Also, remember

GMs are very restricted on GMS (unlike on MapleEurope where they are less restricted) so yeah.. BombsAway is right.

Oh well, I'm happy there'll be more GMs banning hackers. Maybe I'll get to talk to one, finally. Rolleyes

For 9 an hour they're not hiring them to be social, I'd guess.

They'll probably on the "mute" GM accounts Joe mentioned once - they can only watch, not talk or be visible to players.

Or they'll be reading report tickets and clicking the correct response.

What a bunch of retards. They could recruit from the high level community, getting people intimately familiar with the game instead of some half-wit off the street. No person off the street with a college degree is going to take a 9 an hour job doing this. However, the #1-10s in each server would probably do it.
