Clean Slate Glitch?
Harrisonized Wrote:No. It is not an "unequal advantage". 480m for 1~3 extra stats isn't a very high advantage, and even so, it's available to all, not just to you, not just to certain classes, and not only that, it doesn't give you much at all for the amount of money channeled into it.

Since it is available to all however, then it is not an "unfair" advantage.

What you have failed to comprehend throughout this thread is the fact that white-slating makes a not-as-godly item godly. What is the different between a +7 10% claw vs a +7 white-slated 10% claw? If one has enough funds, then they can make perfect items easily.

As for the "480m for 1 ~ 3 extra stats", while it's a huge amount, certainly, this will only be available for the rich/nx users. What's doable and what can be done are two different things for some.
y0y0y0y0shi0 Wrote:Nexon clearly stated in the ToS that playing the game in a non-intended way is hacking.
Nexon Wrote:Using a macro, third-party program, or physical method to play the game in a repetitive manner is considered botting. Using physical means to bot could include using coins or staplers to hold down a key. There is no difference between that and a macro that holds down the control button. Botting is considered a similar offense as hacking in that it uses illegal means to play the game in a manner that is not intended by the creators. In other words, botting is just as bad. =)

Though it isn't directly stated to glitching, it is stated that playing the game in a manner that was not part of the game, then it is hacking. Exploiting errors in the design is the definition of Glitching. Using this glitch to your advantage (even if it is only 1 int. 1 int =/= Nothing.), is abusing it. It is obviously not intended, especially based on the descriptions of the items. When you write to nexon, asking if it's a glitch or not, THEN I will believe you. For Now, it's obviously a glitch.
Contradiction in the bolded.

Also, the definition of glitching is not exploitation, it is playing the game in a way not intended by the creators. At first I was not convinced that it was a glitch, because of the possibility that this could have been intended, but now I already consider it a glitch, so why the hell are you trying to continue to argue the same and rub it in my face? No shyt it's a glitch, but glitching is not the same as hacking or they would have stated it that way.
y0y0y0y0shi0 Wrote:Modifying the software in any way, is hacking. BUT, according to nexon, abusing a glitch = hacking. I'm just relaying the message.
IF you're so bent on arguing what is and what's not a glitch, would you call cross gendering a glitch? Was it Nexon's intentions to let little pedophiles play girl characters and stalk people?

You're not Nexon. Stop acting like you represent them.
Stereo Wrote:So are hacking tools, are you calling them a fair advantage?
No. Because hacking tools are not available unless you change the game by editing wz files.
Stereo Wrote:Playing the game in a way it was not intended to be played = unfair, regardless how it is done.

It's not "available" to anyone who plays in the manner intended by Nexon.
So why put the apple in the middle of the garden to tempt everyone with?

I have to disagree here. Even before white-slating, you could still use a white scroll on ever slot to the same effect. The white-slate part of this glitch only makes Whites a little more powerful, and low % clean slates far more expensive.

I think the more important and game-breaking part of the glitch comes with the adding slots to capes/shoes that would otherwise not have the slots. Getting +6 or higher capes/shoes can end up being very very broken, as others have said.

Also, I see a massive contrast between your top and bottom paragraphs. Even though the top paragraph's option would cost more, you chose to ignore that cost, but not so in the bottom paragraph. The bottom paragraph should end with "If one has enough funds, they can make 30+ stat capes/shoes."
Abusing a glitch is against the Terms Of Service. That's why they banned all the BigFoot glitchers.

Abusing a glitch =/= Hacking

But it still results in the same effect if you are caught doing it, which would be a suspension/ban.

I still fail to see why this is a glitch though.

I haven't seen one Screenshot of pure evidence it gives the items more slots then it should have.
ItzTaylor Wrote:Abusing a glitch is against the Terms Of Service. That's why they banned all the BigFoot glitchers.
That's a misleading statement. They didn't ban ALL the bigfoot glitchers, 1/3rd of the people they banned didn't even get to see a bigfoot.

Also, in that case, they did in fact announce that bigfoot is a glitch and there was a huge rolling message saying that all bigfoot abusers would be banned.

When they set up the banning system to catch the people who past an x amount of exp ratio, they started it from the day after the rolling message came up, so if people were "abusing" it before they announced it, they would not get banned unless they continued doing so.
ItzTaylor Wrote:Abusing a glitch =/= Hacking

This I agree with.
ItzTaylor Wrote:I still fail to see why this is a glitch though.
Because:
a) Clean slates are supposed to give you slots when they work, not when they fail.
b) White scrolls are supposed to protect slots, not give you slots.

Two reasons are enough in my opinion.
Harrisonized Wrote:No. Because hacking tools are not available unless you change the game by editing wz files.

hacking the game is available to everyone. i guess we should all go download hacking programs so it can be considered a fair advantage.

why leave hacking available to tempt everyone with?
Harrisonized Wrote:That's a misleading statement. They didn't ban ALL the bigfoot glitchers, 1/3rd of the people they banned didn't even get to see a bigfoot.

I know I shouldn't have used the word "all" but the point I was trying to get through, was abusing a glitch CAN get you banned, and is against the TOS.

Also, in that case, they did in fact announce that bigfoot is a glitch and there was a huge rolling message saying that all bigfoot abusers would be banned.

I thought it was pretty stupid they announced they were going to ban them. They should have just kept quiet and took action anyways, not give them a chance to stop.

This I agree with.

Because:
a) Clean slates are supposed to give you slots when they work, not when they fail.
b) White scrolls are supposed to protect slots, not give you slots.

I guess I would count that as a glitch. Very bad programming. This means instead of White Scroll actually protecting the slot, it deletes the slot and adds another.

And since you can use the clean slate with 0 slots, you can use it with a white scroll, and then it will fail, causing the white scroll to add the slot.

or at least that's how I think it would work.
Fail Nexon.

*Waits for Nexon to take action* Even though it isn't that horrible of a glitch. Only rich people can afford it. I just see it as a cheaper way to White Scroll Items. Unless you are unlucky.

For the person bringing up the Terms Of Service-

Abusing Bugs/Glitches wouldn't fall under hacking. That would be like saying ksing is hacking or something.
And if you read before that they were talking about Botting.

This is the part of the TOS glitching falls under.

Quote:Exploit errors in design, features which are not documented and/or bugs to gain access that would otherwise not be available or to obtain any competitive advantage;

Bug abuse, hacking, packet sniffing, kill stealing, advertising, spamming, vulgar language, hacking accounts, are all different categories in the Terms of Service.

Just because they result in the same effect doesn't mean they are the same thing.
Harrisonized Wrote:Again, you do not know what was intended or not, so stop it with the assumptions.

A 7 slot item should NOT have 8 scrolls landed on it. That means that it is a glitch. While your view that combining white scrolls with clean slates is legit is dubious at best, even if I give you the benefit of the doubt there, +8 items that had 7 slots to begin with is a glitch, no matter how you put it.

Incompetence/negligence does not imply an endorsement.

You're not Nexon. Stop acting like you represent them.

That's definitely not a contradiction. Read it again. "Nexon clearly stated in the ToS that playing the game in a non-intended way is hacking." It wouldn't be contradicting myself by saying that it doesn't clearly state GLITCHING. Two different words/phrases, thus, two different subjects.

I never said I was trying to rub it in your face. This is the internet, you can't imply what people think without them clearly stating it.

I know I'm not Nexon, who said I represent them? Not me. Relaying the message =/= Me Representing them. It just means I'm restating what has already been stated.

As the ToS says (Thank you ItzTaylor for pulling it up)
"Exploit errors in design, features which are not documented and/or bugs to gain access that would otherwise not be available or to obtain any competitive advantage; "
Getting an item with more slots than intended is gaining a competitive advantage.

They banned the BF Glitchers because they abused the glitch, so the same rules apply here.
Avenge Wrote:hacking the game is available to everyone. i guess we should all go download hacking programs so it can be considered a fair advantage.

No. Hacking is changing the game. What don't you get about that?
ItzTaylor Wrote:I thought it was pretty stupid they announced they were going to ban them. They should have just kept quiet and took action anyways, not give them a chance to stop.
Then how would you know it's a glitch to start with? It's like leaving a $100 on the ground and waiting in the trees just to see who would take it, and then when it is taken, suing the person for theft.

That's just low.

Fail Nexon.
You're late to the party man, all this has already been determined.

You're assuming again. A 7 slot item "should" not have 8 scrolls landed on it.
Should is an assumption.

I realize I came into this thread really late, but could we please just discuss without resorting to calling people "fu'cking idiots" and the like? :C

Sorry... If what you meant was this

I edited that into the post after FelixTM put his mockery into his siggy.

Nah, just in general; I used that post as an example. xd

There's really not a lot of that going on bro, just a lot of back and forth stuff.

Anyway, I don't really care about what's going on in this thread, but people need to stop talking like they're Nexon or something.
KaidaTan Wrote:I have to disagree here. Even before white-slating, you could still use a white scroll on ever slot to the same effect. The white-slate part of this glitch only makes Whites a little more powerful, and low % clean slates far more expensive.

I was refering to an already scrolled item. White scrolls doesnt help it. White scrolls only help when you're scrolling. White-slating let you "regain" failed slots on ALREADY scrolled items. It allows a +6 brown workglove with no slot to become a +7 brown workglove with no slot. White scrolls alone doesnt do that.

It's two totally different points you're talking about. The last paragraph points out that not everyone has 480mils spare to do these things, so while it's doable by everyone, NOT everyone can do it.
Harrisonized Wrote:I edited that into the post after FelixTM put his mockery into his siggy.

don't subject yourself to mockery and you won't be mocked.

you remind me of all of those idiots on Yellonde who tried to defend the Bigfoot glitch before Nexon came out and said something about it.

BIGFOOT BEIN MISTED/WEBBED IS INTENDED FEATUR!!11

People got banned because they continued to glitch it after Nexon specifically told every server not to.
If the game did not intend it to be so, then it shouldn't be abused. IMO, you are no better then a hacker if you abuse a glitch. Say, that there was a glitch that made you have god mode for 1 hour. Are you saying that you are supporting that because it is not hacking and it is a glitch?

I'm sure that if there was a hack that could add more slots then intended and make +11 items, they would be everywhere and you would complain. But what you are doing is abusing a glitch that was never intended which is just about worse then hacking because even hackers do not have the power to do something like add more slots.

Yeah Glitching is not exactly the same as hacking, but does that make a difference if hackers would do the same thing if they could with just hacks?

If a hack came out that made 20 slot items, and the legits could do it through glitching then you would not see the difference between hackers or glitchers. They would be the same.

No, because that's game breaking, and this is not.
Apparently everyone sees things in black and white nowadays. Tongue

Yes, I would complain, because that is a HACK. HACKING involves changing the game. Why should my game be mixed up with a different one? I play what Nexon gives me, not what Nexon gives to me changed.
Shardsniper0 Wrote:But what you are doing is abusing a glitch that was never intended which is just about worse then hacking because even hackers do not have the power to do something like add more slots.
Want to know what else? They do have the power to do it if they can only get enough money to afford the scrolls.
Shardsniper0 Wrote:Yeah Glitching is not exactly the same as hacking, but does that make a difference if hackers would do the same thing if they could with just hacks?
A HSer can just hang on a rope and use put HS on a macro with a rock on their button. If a hack does the same thing, auto-HSing is still =/= hacking.
Shardsniper0 Wrote:If a hack came out that made 20 slot items, and the legits could do it through glitching then you would not see the difference between hackers or glitchers. They would be the same.
I don't see where you're going with this, because as of now, anyone can make the hypothetical 20 slot items without hacks.

What the f'uck is that quote doing in your signature?

Well, it is pretty funny that you "agree with the logic" of one of the obnoxious trolls on these forums.
