However, erm... I forgot nexons FTP, I thought we could always check that? has anyone done that?
This? :f6:

Well, what ever it's called, why would it require a patch to change spawns?

No patch files on the FTP yet.
Naw, they're not patching. Tomorrow they will probably post a Cash Shop Maintenance notice. Remember they changed their Server Maintenance Schedule. Now they don't do a Server Maintenance every week, but they do it every two weeks. Instead, they do Cash Shop Maintanances.
EDIT: Weird thing is, the last two weeks they normally did Server Maintenances, without following that. :f6:

It's still too early to say. They post around like 6ish, and it's only 5:40.

Well, so far there is no patch, nor Server Check information up on the website. Better chances that it will be tomorrow? Seeing as they usually would've had a server check notice on the site by now if it was only a measly Server Check.
It's not really too early. For me they usually post around 8pm, and its 8:50 right now. So....

If you go and look at some map data, there's and X and Y coordinate that essentially says "Monster spawns here". And spawn intervals are in some cases as well. Now, we don't know exactly how the server structure works of course, but there are variables to it on the server side (spawn time randomizers, this why Pianus doesn't spawn EXACTLY 24 hours. There's a variance to it, which is located on the server, and it randomizes the time for a certain range.) which give Nexon some degree of control over monster spawns. Still, they can't actually REMOVE that spawn point without a patch, because the spawn point is in the client side.
For example, the ghosts in henesys. Ghost with ID number XXXXXXXX spawns at coordinate X and Y every 15 minutes. Now, Nexon has a randomizer there, on the server, so it could be a 5 minute range. Then it could spawn at 10 minutes, or 20 minutes, or any point in between. They could even make the randomizer ridiculously huge and take months to spawn, so then the monster's effectively removed. However, that spawn point's still in the client data, and Nexon can't do anything to change that from the server. So, the only thing they can do is issue a patch, which DOES change the client data.

Scheduled Cash Shop Maintenance
I was 99% sure, and I was right.
Heh, let's wait next week. Not like I got my hopes up for patch this week anyway.

I'm curious as to how they mean to implement each of the classes unique abilities. I think it could be interesting if they had it to where in a certain part of the PQ, monsters or objects could be moving forward at you, and they have no knockback and a lot of HP. The only way to stop them is with a stun, or perhaps by freezing. This would make Charged Blow and other stunning/freezing skills very useful.

Meh I already knew it was gonna happen. Its very rare for a patch to happen when an event ends. It's usually a server check.

Both of my characters are 9 levels shy of the required level for the PQ, so I am glad they are are adding more training maps. LA is getting kinda old

Does the new GM blog give hope that the patch might still be announced tonight/tomorrow?

I get how monster spawn, I just don't get why you think spawn points are client sided.
If you change a pServer's WZ files, spawn's location and mob changes, even with Global WZ files. What makes pServer special? And why haven't hackers abused control over what spawns where, if it's Client sided?

There's probably a server-side check to see if the .wz file locations match up. Just like damage, it's calculated on both ends.

I don't think so, since they can't do a Cash Shop Maintenance and a patch at the same time. I mean, theorically in a patch they also put new cash items, but they'd have announced the patch instead of the Cash Shop Maintenance.
