Clean Slate Glitch?

Soo.. are white scrolls programmed to add a slot back after a scroll fails, or do they actually protect the slot.
Because if it's meant to "protect it", then technically you wouldn't lose a spot when a scroll works, seeing as you lose a spot whether you fail or pass a scroll when not using a white scroll..:f6: halp pls

Well, the posts on Sleepywood pretty much confirmed the glitch anyways. This one in particular caught my eye:

I just tried a white scroll + shoe for spikes. Interestingly enough... white scroll isn't consumed when the shoe spikes fail, but you gain a slot regardless... no wonder there's so many perfect items out there...

edit: im assuming this will work with clean slates too?

If this also happens with clean slates (clean slate fails, item gains slot, white scroll stays intact for some reason), then this could be a serious problem...

He needs one but he's 100m short. If you'd like to provide it, that'd be VERY good. He wants to see if the white scroll disappears when the 3% scroll fails.

I think he just got (unlucky) by hitting the 3%. The text after using the scroll should be dependent on the success of the scroll you're using, as the text shows up AFTER the fail or working animation comes up. If it's badly programmed, then two texts would show up, the first one saying "The item has been successfully upgraded with the scroll, and the white scroll was used in the process," to signify the working of the white scroll, and the second one, "The scroll lights up and transferred it's mystierioius power to the item" to signify the working of the regular scroll.

Jackk used Legendary Spirit in order to do this, meaning there's a delay from the point you set the scroll down to the point that the scroll pass/works.

Legendary Spirit just appears to delay the scroll's actual activation. The effects are in once you click to drop the scroll on the item. You can even switch quickly to your equipment tab to see what happened to your equipment while the bar is still loading.

Apparently, it's programmed to first check if the scroll fails. If the scroll fails, it adds a slot to the item. From a programming standpoint, this seems the logical thing to do if a programmer was unaware or scrolls like clean slates that don't take away a slot upon failure because it's simpler and achieves the same effect as "protecting" the item's slot.

Another Nexon's mistake for example: chaos scroll is a regular drop from one monster, a monster that is, luckily for those who know which one it is, never trained on and has a very good spawn. Think about it for 10mn and you'll realise: "eureka let me find the drop table for this particular MS flavor"

if that were true, wouldn't there be someone who is mass killing them monsters and have a ton of them.. someone would have noticed atleast ..
