Clean Slate Glitch?
#21
i think the white scroll is from GMS as it mentions Subani, who seems to be greatly tied in with masterian lore and itcg. both of which originated in GMS. also if i'm not mistaken the white scroll was released at the same time as itcg set 1 and masteria so thats my theory on the origins of the white scroll. but then again MSEA gets them from events but i'm not sure whether that was before or after GMS got it. maybe NXA added the subani thing...

Even so-
White scrolls may have came out during Gach Box event, and theres alot of them, but they will inflate in price, since now the only way you can get them is gachapon. They will only be cheap for so long. And now that people will hear about this- Clean Slates and White Scrolls will inflate in prices even more.

High prices + this Scrolling method= Not even worth it

It's not like it's a super cheap way to get godly items. It will still add up to be alot of money.

I don't think there is any way to prove that.

This would just prove this whole Clean Slate stuff False and Fake. This is what makes me think this is fake

I would really like to know if Clean Slates can work with White Scrolls...

I don't think this is possible though. Clean Slate doesn't even count as a scroll, does it?

Well, those two conditions can be both easily proven and disproven. First one can be proven by my theory being true and disproven by a white scroll being used up by a clean slate failure (without break) but having the item remain at the same number of slots. Second one can be proven/disproven by dropping a clean slate on something with a white scroll in the inventory and seeing if the confirmation box pops up (or by dropping it into legendary spirit with the white scroll box checkmarked, though I doubt people will want to risk their white scroll testing this out).

And yeah, I agree with you that the economy of godly items won't be affected much by this if this were true, but if this glitch existed and could be used in conjunction with cape cold/shoes spikes scrolls, this could be deadly because those scrolls can be used regardless of the slots available/succeeded on an item, unlike clean slate scrolls. If that were the case, pray that Nexon Korea set a max slot restriction limit on equipment, or at least an 8 max slot limit on capes and a 7 max slot limit on shoes.

Someone daring enough needs to test this out xD

iTCG Set 1 definitely did not come out with Masteria....O.o
Masteria came WAYYY before iTCG Set 1. The White Scroll was not released with iTCG Set 1 (I know for sure it was around before then), though, I'm not sure if it made its very first appearance in any version when Masteria came out, for, I joined the day Masteria came out (I didn't know it until I later became adjusted to the game).

Just because the white scroll says something about subani that doesn't mean the white scroll was created in GMS. There's a lot of story changing going on with nexon america to make things not confusing when tied to masteria. Ask issac. :O

Also, i think the white scroll originated in CMS.

MapleSEA's white scrolls comes from shrine gach and it also mentions the subani thing.

I dont know if it is accidental or anything because the Chaos scroll was a mistake.

Son of a frikin pineapple. Oh joy, yet another thing for GM's to fix.....eventually (maybe 100 years from now).

I'm very much inclined to believe Cyanne's theory. At first I assumed it was another hacking spree, but this explains the outrageously high prices of 1/3/5% slates.

Whoever bought them up when they were still under 20mil are going to be quite rich. And to those who say this method is too costly...think about people with badly scrolled one-of-kind items...z-helms/Lunchboxes (More LB-oriented since it's actually one of a kind).

Even spending 200mil a slot would be worth it for them, if they intend to GM scroll it.
#28
Out of curiosity, has anyone actually proved this through SSes? I didn't check up on the sw thread and I don't recall seeing it confirmed anywhere in this thread. I did skim over a few lengthy posts but those seemed to be all theory.

If this is all theory and stuff but no proof, no point in bitching. It could just be a whole bunch of commotion being stirred up.
#29
Yeah, but there's pretty strong evidence to back it up.

If anyone posts up screenshots with proof of this working, I'm gonna go for a 6 slot pink cape once I get my hands on a white scroll. I just found a cape for cold protection in the FM.

Guys, I tried it. I spent 300 mill on a white scroll, then used one of the 3% clean slates I got from gach back in the summer.

 Spoiler

It had a 97% chance to fail to test the theory, but NOOOO IT HAD TO WORK =.= I get a 3% scroll to work and have a 9% success rate with 30%'s >_>

Oh well, least my 13 atk glove turned into a 13 atk 1 slot glove and then into a 15 atk glove D;

Shame I cant afford another white scroll x_X

Edit: I just proved the clean slate with white scroll theory x_X I cant provide screenshots as I just frapped it and dont want to lag but I can perhaps extract screenshots from the fraps footage.

Awesome, now I just need a white scroll to test out the cape for cold protection past the slot limit theory. Just one more balanced fury to sell until I can afford one!

Thanks for trying it out by the way, and grats on your new glove... in a way O_o

Thanks >_> I was spending 550 mill (13 atk glove is roughly 250 mill) to test out a theory, but in the end, I tested nothing out and cant afford another white scroll... its kinda depressing x_X

Hey, at least you improved the worth of your glove by ~400m.

that was just my hypothesis.

Maybe the glitch is that clean slates always work with White Scrolls... that would be a pretty major glitch. And would explain how you got a 3% to work. Tongue

Some people have waaaay to much Meso to try things like this...Tongue
#37
haha yeah, but to gamble that much means u got balls Smile

so now the higher clean slates are worse than the lower rate ones?O_O and u need a white scroll?

Well actually that's basically the same thing as the current theory. The fact that you'd need a white scroll to erase a slot means that as far as getting perfect items from scratch go, it's still more or less the same.
#39
If I understand what he's saying, the text after using the scroll was "The item has been successfully upgraded with the scroll, and the white scroll was used in the process," which happens when normally when you land a scroll, as opposed to "The item upgrade failed, but since the white scroll was used, the item's slots remained intact," which is what appears when you normally fail a scroll with a white scroll, and a scroll success animation appeared over his head. This could either mean that the text is badly programmed such that it only checks whether or not the effect of the scroll was applied before showing the success text/animation OR that he just simply got lucky (unlucky?) by hitting the 3%.

He needs one but he's 100m short. If you'd like to provide it, that'd be VERY good. He wants to see if the white scroll disappears when the 3% scroll fails.

I think he just got (unlucky) by hitting the 3%. The text after using the scroll should be dependent on the success of the scroll you're using, as the text shows up AFTER the fail or working animation comes up. If it's badly programmed, then two texts would show up, the first one saying "The item has been successfully upgraded with the scroll, and the white scroll was used in the process," to signify the working of the white scroll, and the second one, "The scroll lights up and transferred it's mystierioius power to the item" to signify the working of the regular scroll.

Jackk used Legendary Spirit in order to do this, meaning there's a delay from the point you set the scroll down to the point that the scroll pass/works.
