Okay, someone needs to tell me what this is... Now. I've seen perfect items left and right and all the items' owners respond: 'clean slate glitch.'
I need answers, go.

Someone on Sleepywood mentioned using a white scroll with it. I'm not sure whether or not that's actually possible, but it does make sense and could be a possibility. The way a white scroll is probably programmed is that if the scroll fails, it returns the slot that the failed scroll took away (this is probably what still allows 30% + white explode an item), but since failed and non-sploding clean slates don't take away any slots in the first place, failing a clean slate with a white scroll would actually add a slot. This makes sense with what the topic creator on Sleepywood noted (1/3/5% clean slates massively inflating, 20% clean slates staying the same) because 20%s have the highest chance of sploding an item. Sounds like bad programming on Nexon's part. Again, these are just my guesses, assuming white scrolls can actually be used on clean slates.
If my guesses are true, there's a 99% chance that Nexon won't do anything until 3 months later.

I'm not sure what advantage that has over normal white scrolling, other than being doable on 0 slot items (instead of starting from scratch). You still use up a white scroll after every scroll, and now throw in a clean slate?
I'd think the difference is primarily because so many new White Scrolls appeared with the NX Chest event.

Are there even that many clean slate scrolls for it to matter? Even if what cyanne said is true, they'd still have to land the scrolls on it.

^ What's the point, anyway?
If you use a 10%+white scroll, you spend 10 10%'s and 10 white scrolls on average for a +1.
If you use a 10% and fail it, then use a clean slate+white scroll, you spend 10 10%'s, white scrolls, and clean slates on average for a +1.
The only difference is that you'd be able to 'fix' an already-scrolled item, without having planned from the start on whiting the item.
Edit: Aww, late post. I meant to reply to Cyanne.

It'd be the opposite. Using a 1% clean slate with a white scroll with this method would give you a 1% chance of getting your slot back with the clean slate, and if it failed, you would have a 98% chance of getting your slot back anyway. So it's pretty much a guaranteed slot back.
Edit: The difference is that you can now go back and fix the items that you landed 4-5 30%s on and no 60%s and make them perfect with very little risk.

Yeah, I don't think there are enough white scrolls and clean slates for this to matter. Once many people know about this "glitch," the prices of those items will inflate proportional to the usefulness of this "glitch" due to demand and the low supply of the scrolls.

The advantage is that you don't waste a white scroll if the scroll works, disadvantage being the 1.98% destruction rate and the cost of the clean slate scroll. Doesn't seem to have much of an effect, actually, other than for use with higher-than-10% scrolls, which have a higher chance of a wasted white scroll.

Oh ok, i assumed the dude the TS talked to used it on a clean item.
So this pomegranate only helps the rich (who can buy almost perfect items and CS/white scrolls) while still increasing the amount of perfect items? Eh...not the most destructive glitch i must say.

Judging from your logic Cyanne, you can scroll infinite slots on capes by using Cape for Cold Protection with the white scroll.
GG.

GG. Far as I know, white scrolls only do something if there are actually failed slots on the item. So no, you wouldn't be able to scroll infinite slots if cold protections were usable with whites, but you would be able to recover slots using that method. But they'd still be inferior to 1% clean slates because of their success rate.

That's why the clean slate scroll would still recover 1 slot if i failed.
However, Cold Protection does not take any slots, and there is no chance of booming the item. Therefore, when failing, the white scroll HAS to give back the slot. This means that since Cold Protection works even if you have a +5 cape, you can hypothetically still "recover" the slot by using the white scroll...
Then you can have a +6 cape, and then a +7 cape, and then so on an infinite number of times.

If my theory is correct, that cape for cold protection thing might actually work... has anyone happened to see if using a white scroll with cape for cold or shoes for spikes is possible? Giving a cape/shoe more slots than it actually has isn't actually out of the question because yellow adventurer capes have 8 slots, while snowshoes have 7 slots. 8-slot pink capes or 7-slot facestompers anyone?

All the scrolls are too expensive to even worry about it.

White Scrolls:
Doesn't lose slot, if failed.
Apply to item before scrolled.
Clean Slate:
Returns Slot after scroll has failed.
Apply to item after scrolled.
You White scroll the item before it's scrolled and it leaves the slot if the scroll fails.
You apply a Clean Slate to an Item after it has lost a slot, and if it succeeds, it adds the slot back to the item.
How would White Scroll + Clean Slate make a scroll automatically work. The scroll is still based off percent chance, and has nothing to do with the White Scroll or Clean Slate Scroll.
Even if this is real. I doubt you would see perfect items left and right, do to lack of Clean slate scrolls.
If there is a glitch that makes Clean Slates work 100%- Now that is a different story, and could be a problem.
Fix'd. Gach box event remember? They might still be expensive, but there's still a hell of a lot of them.

White scroll gives the slot back if the scroll fails. Clean Slate/Cape for cold protection/Shoe for spike scrolls are the only scrolls that are useable on 0 slot gear. It isn't definite that it works this way, or if there is even a "clean slate glitch" to begin with.

What slot? There is no slot to give back. It would be like using a clean slate on said +5 cape; it just wouldn't do anything. That or the game would disconnect you, unable to compute the weird logic.

Well, anyone want to step in their local FM and check up on the prices/availability of clean slate scrolls? If my theory is correct, the lowest % clean slate scrolls will be massively inflated.
Also, my theory on how the white scroll works is that whenever a scroll of any kind fails, it adds 1 slot to the item (-1 + 1 = 0). I don't remember which version of maple the white scroll originated from, but I'm pretty sure it's not kMS, which created the clean slate and special cape/shoe scrolls, unaware of the conflicts these may cause with the foreign white scroll. Then, when these scrolls came, Nexon simply forgot about the properties of the white scrolls and didn't do anything about it. Also, nobody dared to try using a white scroll with a clean slate scroll due to white scrolls' value, until now, when some random merchant got bored, used it, discovered its power, then told all of his/her merchant buddies, who then proceeded to hoard the 1/3/5% clean slates in the server. Again, my theory of how the white scroll works is that it increases the number of slots available if a scroll fails, which isn't a problem with normal scrolls, but with these new scrolls that don't take away slots upon failure, the +1 slot thing becomes a problem. This is what I mean:
1% clean slate: 1% to succeed, 97.02% to fail without breaking, 1.98% to fail and break
So my theory is this:
1% clean slate + white scroll: 1% chance for the clean slate to succeed (returns one slot, and the white scroll is wasted), 97.02% chance for the clean slate to fail and the white scroll to add one slot (essentially the same result as the clean slate's success, but in a different way), 1.98% to break as usual.
This translates to
1% clean slate + white scroll: 98.02% restore a slot, 1.98% break
which is what I think the glitch is, in theory. The same logic here applies to cape for cold protection and shoes for spikes. 10% chance of the effect being applied to the cape/shoe, 90% chance for the white scroll to kick in and add a slot. Because these scrolls don't have the property that clean slates have (cannot use them with fully scrolled items), there's a possibility of adding more slots than the item is supposed to have. Now, this all depends on how well the slot restoring properties of is programmed. The possibility of infinite slots on a cape or shoe (or max 8 slots on cape, 7 slots on shoe) is well within the realm of possibility, assuming the slot system was badly programmed by Nexon Korea and that the white scroll was badly programmed by whoever did program it.
Remember, this is all my THEORY. This is what led to me to my theory:
- mEanEst sees perfect items left and right
- people mention the "clean slate glitch"
- person on Sleepywood mentions the cost of 1/3/5% clean slates skyrocketing
- person on Sleepywood mentions something having to do with white scrolls
- the normal effects of a white scroll
- the fact that Nexon Korea did not make the white scroll
- the fact that the white scroll creator did not make clean slates and special cape/shoe scrolls
Now, here are the unverified conditions that must be satisfied in order for my theory to be true:
- white scrolls add one slot whenever a scroll fails (as opposed to actually "protecting" the slot), which would seem easier to program
- you can actually use a white scroll with a clean slate scroll

Changed my post after I saw what your theory was.
Even so-
White scrolls may have came out during Gach Box event, and theres alot of them, but they will inflate in price, since now the only way you can get them is gachapon. They will only be cheap for so long. And now that people will hear about this- Clean Slates and White Scrolls will inflate in prices even more.
High prices + this Scrolling method= Not even worth it
It's not like it's a super cheap way to get godly items. It will still add up to be alot of money.

I don't think there is any way to prove that.
This would just prove this whole Clean Slate stuff False and Fake. This is what makes me think this is fake
I would really like to know if Clean Slates can work with White Scrolls...
I don't think this is possible though. Clean Slate doesn't even count as a scroll, does it?
