[MSEA]Actions taken against player who abused the "Newcomer Reward" event

Dear Maplers,
Please be informed that players who were found abusing the glitch in the "Newcomer Reward" event between 21st January 2009 to 2nd February 2009 has been suspended for investigation.

For players who feel that the suspension was unjustified, please send in a Qbox message to us with the following details:

1. Character IGN & World
   
2. Explain how the large amount of meso was earned between 21st Jan 2009 – 2nd Feb 2009.
   
3. List of items sold to obtain the meso (If any).
   
4. Abuse of glitch in the "Newcomer Reward" event. (Yes/No)
   

Investigation will be done based on case by case basis.

*Disclaimer
Asiasoft will not release any of the suspended game account until validation of the game account is done.
We would like to remind all players that fair play is very important in this community.
All game account found abusing the in-game glitch will have their inventory reset before releasing. (No compensation will be done for this issue)
During the suspension period, Asiasoft will not be liable for any A-cash/Cash item running in the account. No compensation will be made for any cash item.

Update: It seems that this thing screw-up......some people who glitched did not get suspended (Those who glitch same amount of mesos such as 20m) and those innocent people who simply has alot of mesos in their account GOT SUSPENDED!(Of Course,those who glitched large amount of mesos got suspended of course)


AsiaSoft.......cant you make things go smooth for once?!?!everytime got this bug that error this extend that extend,here drag there drag, to think that I still play games published by your company

Oh wow, that really sucks for the innocents, especially merchants who will have to come back to expired, massively-taxed hired merchant stores. They should at least compensate the innocents.

This sounds fair, taken at its face value. But I'm wondering about the collateral damage.

Ouch, I wonder just how large a large amount of meso is, this royally screws merchants a lot.

20mil can do nothing to screw up the game. Four times traded and its long gone due to the TAX sucking it away.

And asiasoft clearly states that IFyou got suspended innocently, kindly report to them and give them the information they wanted.. Theyre not world class genius you know.. They dont exactly know who did it so they had to do whats necessary.

This will not end well.

The best thing they could have done is closed down the game and had a rollback as soon as they were aware of the glitch.

and they can just track down people who completed the quest and then check how much mesos,what transaction done....I see other game publisher/providers do that,why AsiaSoft cannot do that? (btw,they are able to know who do it or whatever,it just whether they BOTHER to find out)

I used it a gazillion times. Do not worry.

come on........as least AsiaSoft tried to do something to solve the problem although i agree with you that it will take a long time

but u should think in a positive way, at least AsiaSoft now finally show improvement, better than last time whereby they simply fixed the glitch only

i also agree with DeanNim, humans are never perfect, such thing can happen and the only thing they can do is to seek cooperation

and if they drag this.......MSEA economy will fall even more worse

if u look in ASF now............u can see that ppl are DEBATING whether AsiaSoft actions are correct or not
as usual,there is always 2 sides,1 side supporting AsiaSoft/MapleSEA/Nexon/Wizet while the other side supports the players etc......

FINALLY. Many people wanted a rollback, many people didnt, i think this is the best way to end this Hopefully, the MSEA economy will recover soon enough, i've seen an improvement in the past few weeks

Some new event where you would get tons of mesos for completing it. And you could repeat the quest easily and just keep getting more and more mesos so people were walking around with bils of mesos on them.

I'm assuming if you say something like "sold 5 atk cape for 1.6bil, did quest and got 20mil" they'll be able to confirm that and even though you used the glitch you'll only lose the money gained from it, not a full account-wipe.


I don't think anyone will be permanently suspended, they just want to get rid of the extra money.

Hmm, I can accept that they'll take the answer "yes, but unwittingly" or something like that, as a remark of innocence and honesty. I like to think of it as the "stupid test", otherwise.
