AND IT'S FKIN FAST!!!

Just got it installed today after being on Verizon's DSL for almost 4 years. I went and tested it by watching youtube videos in high quality and the things just load like WOOOOSHHHH.

Srsly if you got FiOS near you, beg your parents for it cause its HOT.

i went to http://www.speedtest.net to try and see how fast my net was.

My results were -
Download speed - 19672 kb/s
Upload speed - 5565 kb/s

Pretty good XD. Internet at the speed of light is sexy

Pretty nice. :O

I've had fiber optic for years (well, except when I'm at school) and I can attest to its sexiness.

What's your advertised upstream? Because I know a lot of places don't give you much, but mine is 10 mbps up as well as 10 down.

hey hey, don't curse your ADSL. I cope with a 2000 kilobytes download and 300 for upload... (uploads sucks) in brazil.

This isn't a surprise given that fiber optics have a theoretical massive bandwith, and no current technology can even come close to reaching that limit. Abuse it all you want, it's a heck load better than wires xD

10mbps? Christ...I don't go nearly as high <_<

5500 kbps down, 666 kbps up.

I wish we had FiOS here. Sadly we don't. I talked to my dad about it (elictral engineer) and he said we probably won't get it for awhile, if ever. It is because all the wires are already buried. They don't want to dig up the ground to add more. If, by some grace of God, we get FiOS in my area my dad said we could get it. I am awaiting the day. Although I don't think it will ever come, sadly.

Fiber Optics IS the pomegranate. I'm learning about internet speed with certain cables in my classes right now, in the future, I'll be doing this kinda crap for an entire network for some company, fucking fun.

the best thing for internet is getting backbone access. Now that's sweet. You would probably have faster access to internet information than your own hard drive... I think the backbone reception for my whole state back in brazil is in the university i study. I've heard they have some pretty massive routers over there.

They hate me when it comes to upload. Also my download usually isn't this high.

I don't have FiOS and still I'm getting 8kb/s d/l and 1kb/s u/l. I don't know whether or not my interwebs company will be getting FiOS, but I'm still happy.

I never had FiOS. Dunno if it'd be faster or just the same for me.
