[Complete] The maintenance is complete as of 11:45 AM Pacific. Cash items in your inventory have been extended to cover the amount of time the game was unavailable.

[Update 2] The maintenance has been extended by another 30 minutes. The expected end time is 12:00 PM Pacific (3:00 PM Eastern).

What will be unavailable:

• All MapleStory game servers.
  
• Website login and the billing system will be unavailable from 5 AM - 10 AM Pacific.
  

Changes and Updates:

• MapleStory will be updated to v153.
  
• Equipment that received a Potential rank downgrade from the Bounty Hunter event's Master Craftsman's Cubes will be reverted to its rank from before the downgrade.
  
• Characters on which the downgrade bug occurred will be given back the cubes they used on the downgraded equipment after the downgrade.
  
• Characters on which the downgrade bug occurred will receive the following item through the gift box notifier as a special present: Epic Potential Scroll 100\%, Unique Potential Scroll 80\% (x2), Red Cube (x5).
  

Installer:
The v.153 full client installer is available for download. If you experience issues while using the regular downloader, please click to download the four files listed below. You must save these files to the same folder. Then simply run the MapleStorySetupV153.exe file to install MapleStory normally.

Manual Patcher:
The v.153 manual patcher is available for players who currently have v.152 installed.

1. Download the manual patch by clicking this link: ManualPatcherv153.exe
   
2. Double-click on the patcher.
   
3. Select the folder where the game is installed. For most players, this folder is C:NexonMapleStory
   

If you see this message: "maplestory.exe not found," MapleStory must be located in a different folder. Please select the correct folder.

It's a game update because they are pushing the version to 153. The amount of content is irrelevant. If they were going from 152.2 to 152.3, they would call it a minor patch.

Nexon's terminology has been very precise for a good few years now.

"minor patch" vs "game update" isn't only about in game content.

They changed their entire security system behind the scenes. It happens like once every two years at best. That's a game update.

Well, that was expected. My SW Tattoo is still Epic, and no compensation at all. I'm not sure how they can determine which characters had their equips downgraded at all.

I already submited a ticket related to that... I admit that is tempting, but is not moral.

They've been deleting threads when they pop up on the official forums so at least they're aware of the issue...
I really hope they plan on doing something severe to the abusers. You can essentially get an infinite amount of cubes from this (although they're only up to Unique tier, but still).
I've already seen a few of the abusers close down their shops, which I find pretty funny.

Oh just NexonNA coding at its finest. It distributes the item to the player before checking all 3 slot types. If the check fails it doesn't complete the quest, despite already giving the item. What kind of coders do they hire to do this crap? This is like the 5th time this EXACT same kind of exploit has happened.
