Takebacker Wrote:You mean the game ending before the KO registers? That can still happen with this animation. I don't know if you've played or seen the game in alpha build, but this new animation he's talking about is a longer animation than the previous games' bonk animation (i want to say twice or three times as long because the character "slides" down the glass instead of just hitting it and dying) which was pretty much instant before so that is still a possibility. You would probably have to kill them between the 1-2 second mark for that though. Maybe it changes to the same as the side ones when the timer is like 10 seconds away from ending? I can't remember what he wrote though and I'm tired as pomegranate to look again at how precise he worded it.

This is a discussion thread isn't it? I legit didn't even know what you were talking about at one point and was trying to understand. Just because you don't want to discuss it doesn't mean the same discussion isn't happening elsewhere or that we can't talk about it here. EDIT: In fact, here's a bunch of people making the exact same points that you are as well as people talking about other situations and what would happen in them. That situation can still happen and that's all i wanted to say. smh yo. Did i even come off as aggravated to you? Seriously. Totally unwarranted reaction. It makes sense because i saw a LOT more bonk kos than previous games when i saw the demo which was always set to 2 minute time match. Bad DI. :/ Unavoidable sometimes though; it sucks when that happens lol but it's one of those situations that makes the series exciting to keep playing

New week, new stuff!

The attack becomes even stronger if you strike from behind! Robin doesn't actually use this ability in the original game, but we added that element to make the character unique. Who knows--the ideas we use in this game may contribute to the original series.

But... you can make him into a dark mage at least... allowing him to use nosferatu then
2014-07-21, 04:36 AM
I wonder how people will use nosferatu. It doesn't seem like it's hard to land but it might be predictable so maybe there's a guaranteed way to land it. Maybe when someone is recovering, you can jump out there and b-reverse nosferatu to hit them from behind. Sounds viable since people will be trying to get on stage as soon as possible due to lack of ledge invincibility, but possibly risky against some characters because robin's recovery move is a tome and therefore can be lost after too many uses. The risk might be offset by the safety that the actual recovery itself provides though.
Robin sounds really fun to play with and against.

Inb4 healing off of destructible stage props. Heck, I could see Ness as an awesome partner since they can heal each other.
And from what I've seen, when people die off the top during a count down, they straight up die and no star/screen ko appears.

Sephie Wrote:Inb4 healing off of destructible stage props. That would be pretty ridiculous. First we have a character that should never ever be hit by projectiles of any kind or number (rosalina) and now this?! In all likelihood it probably only works on characters though. You need to have % or be able to take % to heal % right?

Pierce the entire stage from one side, potentially hit one or both enemies, and the ness absorbs from the other side of the field. Heal AND do damage!

I'm not sure ness+robin would be as good as ness+ZSS since ZSS' projectiles aren't limited and as far as we know, ZSS is a better character.
A rosalina player could very easily throw a wrench into the ness+robin game plan since robins only moves that heal ness are mid range/long range projectiles. All rosalina would have to do is stand right next to ness and down-B and the projectile would just fly around his psi magnet, whereas ZSS dsmash probably won't be affected by rosalina down-B (if it was affected it would look...extremely weird) yet it's still able to heal ness. I'm not sure how many options robin would have to heal ness though. He has 3 different thunder projectiles and also two recovery projectiles in the same attack whereas ZSS only has 2 heal options that probably doesn't have much benefit if an opponent gets caught in the stunners while you're healing. I'm also not sure how ness+robin would work when robin's stuff is on cooldown, especially when robin is trying to recover. Most likely ness would have to do work in this time or save his partner both of which i'm not sure he's good at. At least with ZSS her recovery is godlike now so they can function totally independent from each other.

Not a guarantee that this direct has anything to do with smash, but maybe we'll get a release date for wii U smash.

It'll probably have fighters running around on top of it without the pilot's consent.

Yeah, sorry, turns out it's fake. Woops.
I'm still waiting for Falco to be confirmed. I know he's probably in the game but still, the uncertainty is killing me.
