Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Discussion

"Pic of the day. Tether recovery? Yes, you can! And from even longer range than before. Multiple fighters can latch on--who actually grabs hold is determined by the same rules as the standard ledge grab."

I wonder if Link's spin attack will be horrible horizontally because of this. That range is insane now. And what's with those weird chains/ropes between Samus and Link?

the lines are part of the floating island behind them

Oh ho wonderful. Compensation for not being able to grab at the entire stage, link not looking so bad so far.

Oh, well NEVERMIND then. Gotta love coincidences. Rolleyes

Tether unofficially confirmed for ZSS? :f6:

I'm pretty sure it's been de-confirmed. Her recovery move was specifically highlighted in the direct as being a function of her new jet boots and not the tether.

True.
I really wanted tether recovery on her in the new smash. All of my hopes and dreams! Frown

she still does the grab with her laser whip (probably) no? might be able to tether with that anyways

Perhaps. I don't see a reason she wouldn't be able to. Her huge grab range most likely isn't a weakness that sakurai would feel the need to fix, and it would be unique for a character to have a tether grab, but not a tether recovery.

Is posting about the announced smash invitational at E3 this year, relevant to this thread?
New smash will be there! (At least that is what I have been led to believe)

Sorry it's IGN Tongue It's where I go for meh news.

There are some other things I could say, but I'd be going massively off topic.
Looks like it'll be for the top ranked smash players only though...Hopefully it's a good stream. Biggrin

I really really wonder which top players they're considering. Hopefully it's a large 30ish man bracket and not an MLG vegas situation where there's only like 8 people who made the cut. HOLY S'HIT THOUGH THIS IS HUGE NEWS FOR THE TOURNAMENT SCENE. WE DID IT WE FINALLY GOT RECOGNIZED BY NINTENDO!!!

Shame they're going after the completely wrong people if they want to dig themselves out of the pomegranatehole of failure they're currently in. A smash tournament instead of a full on conference is an almost insultingly stupid decision(it's in the place/time the conference would have been 2 years ago).

I agree with you, i'm not sure what they're thinking. I feel like they're really trying to pull away from the whole competition aspect between the big 3 since that in my mind is what e3 has always been about. Regardless nintendo's support is something people including myself have been wanting for almost a decade now and i can't possibly bash them for embracing their best series.

Maximilian talks about the Smash Invitational stuff and some other talk involving Nintendo. Needless to say the 2nd half of the video was stuff I didn't know about.

We've got the online live streams.
Even in Canada I'm doubtful I'll see demos in Best Buy.

Looks fine by me, but I don't think that they'll make a worldwide tournament like pokemon. I hope there are new characters announced in the E3.

On the new nintendo console thing: I hope it's a 2ds xl with 3Ds XL structure (for MH4U) because if it is a new home console... They better start accepting Wii u as a way of payment...

There is a god ;_; Nintendo's finally giving the competitive scene the recognition it deserves!
