Beast Tamer discussion thread
Bird ultimate only works while you're flying, and it summons something kinda like that third job wind archer skill that you can move with your arrow keys

Okay so I'm going to give my personal opinion on beast tamer.

Pros:
The class is rather unique with the 4 different animals to choose from. In theory
The quest dialogue is kinda funny and interesting
Leopard is fun an Eagle is the best to play around with.
Kawaii as pineapple
A lot of passive buffs for new players
Link skill is nice
No mastery books

Cons:
The bear is boring boring boring and I use that the most at Stronghold and evo world
The skill tree is confusing as pineapple for new players
Doesn't seem to add really anything that other mages can
Furious strikes is a pretty weak bossing move
Most of the cat buffs are pointless since they don't stack
Eagles main attacks are too weak
Overall rather boring minus Eka
Stupid annoying monotonous quests
No booster

My overall personal score for the class is a 75/100. Not bad but far from perfect. I just fid it boring and I was looking forward to Tamer as well. All this class did was make me miss my Evan Lumi and Zero. I don't hate it but I wish it was better in some aspects.

I got my BT to 121 but I couldn't assign my link skill? I waited a whole day just to be sure but I still can't do it. Do I need to do BT story quest or something?

Nope, no BT story quest requirement. I was able to assign mine without any issue.

Though, did you accept the quest for link skills that pops up when you get to level 70? Though I say quest, it's just a notice type thing telling you that you can assign the link skill. It's in the lightbulb popup on the side.

Won't lie about Beast Tamer, they seem that they'll have great trouble dealing burst damage at bosses. Furious Strikes is fun as hell, but gonna take time to Paw Swipe before it can be used. Support-wise is probably 2nd to none thanks to it being map-wide, but feels lackluster damage without Bear/Leopard.

I foresee a potential buff to Beast Tamer where they can use up to 2 animal aspects at once rather than just one. Can be a Hyper Skill passive or even active.

Good lord, that would just make bearcat master race even more powerful.

I didn't do that. Is my char just fucked now? I can't find the quest anymore.

Two animals at once would be pretty pointless because everyone would just pick the cat as their secondary animal for all the passive buffs.

A simple change would be to make Furious Strikes its own separate skill and not tied into paw Swipe.

Would it truly? Magnus/Gollux/Hilla/Root Abyss may have something to say about Furious Strikes.

On the flip side it leads to other possible combinations. As it is, Eka is extremely useless on her own; I can't imagine training or even bossing with solely Eka. The only reason you use Eka is for taxi services, but it's a pretty heavy SP investment just for faster traveling. Combining with any other animal aspect would make Eka actually useful for a change. I'd be lying if I didn't consider the idea of combining Cat with anything 2ndary, but on the other hand imagine Bear/Eka or Bear/Leopard for bossing or training. And in a way Bishops are essentially Cat with part Bear.

Huh... It's been so long since I've been to pantheon I forgot about that... Wouldn't that still require you to go to victoria island first?

The Mercedes link skill will get you to vic island in a hurry.

Use the Root Abyss teleport on the side of your screen (level 100+) and then use a Sleepywood Return Scroll, exit through the portal to Six Path Crossway and then climb the rope to get to Pantheon.

Gets you to any town in the game in a minute or less.

Dimension Mirror -> Sengoku Place -> Move three maps to the right (taking bottom portal when necessary) -> return scroll which lands you into mushroom shrine -> spinel warps you out and sends you to henesys as long as you haven't talked to her on any other contienent (otherwise you are getting warped to either ludi or leafre)

Alternative which is much easier. Get access to RA [need the ra door icon on left]. Use sleepywood return scroll. There you are back at sleepywood.

On Topic:

Honestly, depending on how much +skill things you got, I honestly believe you can get 3 full animals. Youll need 191 in bear, maybe 185.
Leapord is the same deal.
Eka and cat both have 170 reqs.

I was honestly thinking of maxing out leapord [well almost maxing it, I'm ditching its ultimate], bear [again ditching the ultimate] and cat while just getting enough points for party tele. Bear and cat are a given. Leapord would be for doing attendance events or gathering quests which I can easily do at Temple of Time or such. Plus if you require farming something, leapord seems vastly superior to bear if you overkill with bear.

Plus I love those little leapord cubs =3 They adorable and powerful, and there's no limit to them!

EDIT:

I'll post exactly how to do it if anyone is interested, although it's really all about hitting each sp limit for each skill while keeping in mind to not max out the skill in order for the +skill level effects to work. I will see how far I can go, but 3 animals should not be a problem. Problem occurs with trying to figure out just enough sp for party tele...

I thought party tele was eka's skill. (btw sorry about not clarifying the extra sp I got earlier)

I would like to add that Paw Swipe + Furious Strikes is Aran (when they were first released) all over again. If it wasn't for fish slap and majestic trumpet I would've gave up my wrists Sad.

By the way is it just me or Majestic Trumpet does an incredible amount of damage with relatively short delays between each DoT tick (short enough to lag me to oblivion at DiPQ).

Well, I'm finally home from the hospital rounds, so working on this.

I'm working under teh assumption that you have +6 all skill levels. This can be achieved from:
+1 from leafre codex
+2 from empress set
+2 from unique potential line on hat
+1 from A rank nebulite.

Wll post later.

The only buff Beast Tamer needs is to be able to use Furious strikes while moving, similar to Milles, and to not need to paw swipe 3 times before using it.

Additionally, get rid of the 20% crit chance hyper on Bear. It has 100% crit rate already, it doesn't need any more. Could possibly add some not-entirely-bad hypers for every other animal as well. I put 2 points in 2 bear hypers and didn't bother with anything else.

Allright...cat and eagle pineappleed it up. Eagle has way too many level 30 skills and cat has 2 more extra skills than the bear and leapord.

You can fill 3 animals fully. The leftover sp isnt enough to get the party transport skill on eagle if you max out bear, leapord and cat, but if you never plan to leapord than just get bear cat and eagle. Personally, I think I'm going to get bear and cat maxed, leapord to the point where lil bro is maxed, then dump rest into eagle because I like the leapord cubs <3 And with all those points youll be able to get bird transport.

God I'm tired. Let me know if I did anything wrong and I'll fix it.

It's leopard, not leopord, btw.
