What animal modes are you using for so much damage?

God pineappleing dammit Wizet.
Probably not, I mean in KMS this Zero can barely kill magnus on time with a 50k range and 70% boss on alpha and he has exceptionally great control.

I was originally considering using Cat form for grinding, but its attacking skills are absolutely shockingly bad.
The only reason I use cat form is for the Meow Card buff. You can't complain about 30% extra damage, increased attack speed and increased defense.
I'm probably going to put a couple of leftover skill points into Eagle form for the movement skills (for travelling). Is it worth it?

Cat's Meow Card
Bear to grind!
Hawk's movement/door/summon party are VERY handy tho.
Hawk's Razor Beak <- while it's a party buff, it doesn't stay if you switch animal.

This is what I did, I put enough sp in bird to get 1 point in party summon.
Assumed we'd get sp past 200, so I messed up a tiny bit but got all important skills maxed

Can anyone confirm the usefulness of the Leafre Codex set and/or any other skill level boosters for Beast Tamer?

Can't tell if anyone answered this but no. When you switch modes it cancels the buff. Party members can keep it though.
It sucks that Eka's damage is so tiny...

NOPE
but you can easily reach those pointbreaks by spending points like you should be anyway.

I'm a big fan of the beast tamer to the point where I managed to make it my highest leveled character in my ~7 year of playing this game. The only issue I've encountered is I can't figure out where the secret area is to free the last 2 hostages and kill the reinforced mithril mutae. I just left, leveled up and am continuing the story in pantheon which makes me feel a little sad since I missed out on a decent bit of story. I know I can go back but like heck will I ever be able to find that passage.
A lot of story line is a bit lazy though. it's just been bits and pieces from other stories and various theme dungeons smashed into 1 lump in my experience so far. Not a whole lot that's original to the character.

Has anyone tested if the damage dealt to monsters when using Cat's Cradle Blitzkrieg and Purr Zone is purely visual when you swap modes?
This happens with Flame Fart, but Purr Zone seems to work differently, as the healing effect stays and the damage seems to apply. Did anyone else test this and came to a conclusion? D:

Overall I've been completely disappointed in this class as a whole.
Bossing: Overall extremely lackluster and impractical on any new boss. The only bosses we're able to kill are old, archaic, useless bosses, that you're required to stand still at. I honestly feel even Mechanics are better at bossing than this class is. Despite the Bear-centric bossing mode, it is very bad at what it is supposed to do. Its Furious strikes requires you to use Paw Swipe three times before use, so basically you're unable to boss with mobility (Furious Strikes is stationary), you're unable to boss with reaction time (Furious Strikes has a long cast time, hits 4 times twice each attack, and requires three slow Paw Swipes before it starts), and the DPS isn't even that great once you get going.
Training: Overall BT's strong point. They have everything. If you want mobile training, Leopard. If you don't want to jump around, train with bear. If you want to leech, train in cat. There's really no wrong way with BT. Bear is extremely good in HoH as well. You can hit both platforms with Fishy Slap, and it lasts 13 seconds, and has a 10 second cooldown. It's extremely good in HoH.
Supporting: It's honestly only a party support. Its boss support is meh. I can see it going on smaller scale boss runs where there's extra room, but in boss runs where there's not much extra room available such as Chaos bosses, you won't see these much, unless someone wants to bring them along for their drop rate bonus or something like that. But for partying, they're very good. They offer a wide array of minimal-effect buffs that stack up to offer decent effects overall.
So if you don't expect to do any end-game bossing, BT is the class for you. If you do, move along. If you love grinding, this class is amazing.

Leopard training is very gentle on your keys. Simply hold down attack key for 3 attacks, then release the key to cast Roar. This is unlike the Bear or Cat skills, which demand that you mash the keys.
Overall, I find that the BT game concept is good, but very rushed. There are significant inconsistencies in UI, coding etc.
Temporarily, I've calculated that the critical skills for grinding, bossing, and support, require about 540SP, and that's before MW and HW. This does not take into account the skill point requirements in order to reach e.g. Meow Card. In addition, I don't have enough details on which buffs remain and which buffs get removed when you change modes, both for yourself and for other party members.
Growth Spurt is crazy. Makes 3rd job look like a joke.

I did a lot of calculations on different builds, and I also think getting the empress set+leafre card set, and potentially decent CO could be really beneficial. It'd allow you to put less points in your skills, and potentially max more skills, maybe even go Bear+Leopard+support cat+91 in bird for regroup (could put 82 in bird for level 1 regroup, but really long cooldown).
I'm just not positive if you can get +4 skill level on BT. I know you can get +2 however.

You can stack it as high as you want for skills that are below their mastery levels iirc
On my Paladin I used to be able to get up to..
+2 from hat
+2 from wombat orders
+2 from empress set 5
+2 from some other source
All I remember is being able to get level 28 MW when its base sp was 20.
It should be noted though that the extra sp boost to skills doesn't apply to pre requisites
I.e. I need 30 sp in charged blow to put points in advanced charge, this 30 sp has to all be BASE sp. I've never played a beast tamer so I'm not sure how their skills work but this would probably stop +skills usage.
