DDoS attacks

Dear players,

Over the last few days we have experienced a number of DDOS attacks against our services which has resulted in temporary loss of service and connection difficulty for our players.

Unfortunately attacks of these kind aren’t something we can completely safeguard against due to their unpredictable and sudden nature.

Our IT and Game teams have been responding as quickly as possible by shutting down potential avenues being used by the hackers. We have successfully shut down a number of these attacks over the last few days and will continue to work to prevent future ones.

Apologies to our loyal players for the inconvenience caused. Please rest assured that the game teams are doing everything in their power to combat the disruption caused by these individuals.

About bloody time they mentioned the swarms of disconnections and downtime for the games.

Dragon Nest community is feeling the hurt too. These past few days have proven that both games are 100% on the same server.

The DN community has learned at this point that whenever DN goes down, we could just come here to figure out what's happening to us as well. 100% of the time Maple has also crashed, beginning and ending at the exact same times.

Don't you mean same data center? I highly doubt the same servers used to house MapleStory also house other games.

Perhaps. Admittedly I don't know the distinction.

One of the people running DN North America has said that Dragon Nest and MapleStory actually share some resources, although he only specifically mentioned cash shop inventories as an example. However the hell that's supposed to work. *shrugs*

There is definitely something being attacked right now that affects the stability of both games, and it doesn't look like there are any other Nexon games that are crashing anywhere near the frequency that DN and Maple are right now. DN team is trying to get a handle on it too.

I went to Vindictus because of server issues. No surprise that they're having issues too.

Huh, seems like Aeria Games and NexonAM were DDoS'd, huh? Aeria was yesterday, at least.
